    As a relief signaller, I worked all of the boxes from Wateringbury to Cuxton. Being an absolute block line, and with so many of the boxes having level crossings to look after, most of them were a pain to work, especially the ones with manual gates when the weather was bad.

      Never considered them a pain to work. I really enjoyed my time in those boxes…..in fact it was the best time of my years on the railway

    So many memories!! Grew up on this line, just how i remember it. *sigh* i miss the CEP's and semaphore signals.... Thanks for sharing :)

    Goodness all those manual level crossings and semaphore signals - I thought it was a preserved railway. How wonderfully nostalgic.

    Well this is the proof I need to conclude Aylesford Station didn’t use to have wigwags, when were they installed?
