- Welcome to the Episode 79 of Every Platform! In today's episode I am in Kent again, visiting stations on the Medway Valley Line. Services are seen by Southeastern using their Class 375s whilst a few of their Class 395s are also seen in the video. Govia Thameslink Railway are also seen with their Class 700s on a few occasions in the video.
As for stations, we are on the Medway Valley Line so all stations between Paddock Wood and Strood via Maidstone are covered, as well as a few extras beyond Strood to Rainham (yes the Kent one). A lot of these stations are 2 platform stations serving the same pattern, but some do have their quirks about them, as you'll see in the video. Apologies also for the skip ahead at New Hythe, but although it's covered in the video (just), I'll aim to go back for another visit just to get a little bit of better coverage.

Great vid, Kent does look genuinely lovely this time of year 😊
Definitely agree there!
Nice
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing locations which I didn’t know existed
No problem, I hope you enjoyed
Congrats on covering my Local area.. I'm originally from Gillingham but now live in Rochester.. The Line between Gillingham and Chatham was my school route for 5 years.. Where I live now you get a great view of the Medway line, the High Speed line over the viaduct and the Chatham mainline over Rochester Bridge. Gillingham Train station is fine but I wouldn't recommend going into the high street.. Anyway nice vid. :)
Thank you! Cameron who is in the video also used to live in Gillingham but I'm unsure what he thinks of it lol. Glad you enjoyed!
(DRA) is a manual switch based system. It prevents traction power from being applied when it is engaged and acts as a reminder to the driver to check the signal aspect ahead when stationary, before starting away again.
So that's what it is! Thanks!
East Malling and West Malling are pronounced as Mawling, in the same way Halling is Hawling/Hauling.
Shit whole 😂😂😂
The whole of Kent? 😂
@@KTVTransport I don't know Kent at all but I'd at least respect their graffiti if it was grammatically correct
Hahahaha that's a fair point 😂😂
Great video, this should explain the DRA sign. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driver%27s_reminder_appliance 👍
Thank you and thanks for the info!
