    Pretty privilege opens doors that money cannot simply buy… You can’t buy pretty privilege.

    • @kristamonae
      @kristamonae 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +82

      You can buy it for sure. BBL , Nose Job , Botox

    • @JzsaJzsa
      @JzsaJzsa 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +22

      @@kristamonae you can buy it for sure but it doesn’t last. BBls collapse, nose jobs go wrong, Botox has to be injected every few months because it doesn’t last. Fillers move around in body and face. So yes you can buy it. I mean look at what people are saying about Kylie she has done so much surgery that she has now aged herself vastly from all the surgery. She has old privilege now. She will have to keep having surgery just to look younger.

    • @law11school11girly
      @law11school11girly 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +32

      It is achievable through buying individual cosmetic procedures:
      nose jobs, nose filler, cheekbone filler, buccal fat removal, lip flip with Botox, lip fillers, eyebrow lifts, jaw implants/ jaw shaved down, jaw filler, hair transplants, laser hair removal, fake tans, skin lightening treatments, teeth whitening, braces, veneers, eyelash extensions, hair dye, hair extensions, manicures, pedicures, liposuction, breast lifts, breast implants and more.
      The problem is these cosmetic enhancements are expensive & do need maintenance. Furthermore, they are marketed towards women more violently, as we can see in our society women are held to a much more expensive beauty standard than men.
      I advocate for the most basic ways to start building pretty privilege: diet, exercise, sleep, no alcohol, being kind & loving to your friends & family❤❤❤
      Remember, most of society may judge your appearance, but your friends and family value you for so much more than your exterior ❤❤❤

      Do you remember the controversy surrounding some of the Real Housewives because they would go out with fake items.. I don’t know if it’s because they genuinely didn’t want to spend the money and wanted to be perceived as rich, or they had the expensive things but kept them at home, and went out with fake luxury items in case they did get robbed. There was more controversy because a couple of them actually didn’t have the money they said they did.

    Just had a former male classmate refer me to a job at the place he’s interning at. The job has good pay, insurance, paid time off, and benefits for a senior who’s about to graduate college. Knowing how most men are wired and operate, I honestly believe he wouldn’t have done that for me if he didn’t think I was pretty to a certain extent. Hell yeah I fucking applied. If he likes what he sees and that can get my foot in the door at a company that pays well I’m taking advantage of that. Plus he’s kinda cute so that’s a bonus☺️I’m brown skin but because of my hair texture, I can pass as biracial. I know because of that it’s offered me privileges so I take advantage of that and I’m not afraid to. My style is more of girl next door vibe with light makeup and modest clothes. That’s what I feel the most confident and beautiful in. I may not attract a lot of men because I’m chubby but I definitely attract men that can offer nice things that can improve my life.

    That’s not even the most fascinating part… the crazy part is when a woman who should be getting all of the points falls flat for some reason. As an UABW I was kind of conditioned by society to always fall back on “oh it’s cause I’m dark skinned I got rejected” or “oh it’s cause my hair is too kinky I got rejected” so I often wonder what a blonde haired blue eyed white woman has to fall back on. Does it make it worse? I literally feel like I couldn’t handle that cause the only thing left is to take it insanely personally when it comes to rejection and I don’t do that as a black American in a country ingrained in racism. I actually don’t even know how to take rejection personally in dating, I always think it’s because they have a type that’s not mine and I’m the opposite and I move on with my life.
    I’m a pretty black woman by the way, I’ve dated many groups of men(male gaze) and many woman stop me on the street and tell me how beautiful they find me as well(female gaze) so it’s nice to not be the “beauty standard” and still turn heads but when you do meet the social boxes and don’t I wonder how that goes internally.

    I just want to attract a man that can see past my looks. I have brown skin, 3b-3c curly hair, bright amber eyes + other ideal features. I'm also 4'9 and am considered curvy(bone structure) petite. I ALWAYS attract men that see me as a trophy and worship me. They also tend to be older and wealthy and basically want to parade me around. It's not the kind of relationship I want. I want sweet love with a guy that can actually acknowledge our differences. Not an elderly/middle aged man that thinks he can buy my affections and suddenly we'll be compatible. All guys my age(I'm 20) or at least under 35 just stare at me. They'll even smile and I'll smile back! But they never approach me

    beauty pageant.
    we were the East Coast Washington D.C. "wealthy blacks" when there were no blacks (or browns) around in that zip code.
    also, it did give a boost to "fitting in" with mostly alabaster Purebred white people with money, rolls royces, and bentleys in the 1990's. real Old Stock white, not shady white, however, you really had to rely on your personality to keep them on their toes.
    * sighs *
    Listen, when you're in an Alabaster environment, like 99% lily, you could be tan (and definitely if cinnamon here), they see you as black One Drop Rule. This goes back to before the antebellum times. (they see you as the help. in fact, they have more Asian "helpers" than they do black or brown helpers) . One Drop Rule!!
    i don't know why this is important, because my mind is always fixated on wishing i could feel comfortable with the greenwich connecticut crowd and the hamptons crowds, the people who's fathers are hedge fund managers and folks who play golf at the country club on the weekends. (*whispers* W.A.S.P. people * ) It'd be so easy. And, a part of me kind of resents the fact that i am threatened by that.
    I actually resent it now that I am older and can think more for myself.
    i blame supremacists, and will remain in private & quiet rebellion against it.
