    Always enjoy your videos. Surprised you’re posting while the match’s are going on but really glad you are. I have a friend shooting there this week as well (Bizzel). He’s been keeping me up on the 1000 yd matches. You seem to shoot as fast as I do but you do a way better job of watching the flags and conditions. Keep em in the center and good luck.

    Good work John. Yeah, head off the stock is a tough one to overcome. Loved the commentary.

      John: I am nowhere the shooter that you are. But I do the same thing every time. Lifting my head off the stock like you do. I have to work on stopping that. And yes it's a bad habit to break.

    Great video and commentary. I had never seen a match from that view. I'm amazed how much the target moves! I guess I always assumed they were rock solid in their upright position. Yet another challenge to overcome....

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it can move quite a bit but if you saw it from the pit perspective you'd see that once it is put back up it settles down pretty quickly. It's my decision whether to wait for it to completely stop moving or just mostly stop before shooting the next round but once it's pretty much stopped moving there's almost no movement at all.

    So great to see... both your strong efforts, and the live scoring. Not really sure why the match organizers don't post daily results for all the matches/shooters. Maybe I'm missing something. Either way, it really is nice to see your posts. Thanks for sharing.

    Good work John. It's almost impossible for me to see some of those angle changes in the flags. Are you seeing them through mirage, feel, or flags?

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's hard, really hard. I tend to use flags over mirage for angle changes but I'm far from perfect and always trying to work on it.

  • @garrettbinley7349
    @garrettbinley7349 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I’ve never heard this addressed on any channel, but are those targets not wobbling around? Looks like it to me. Wouldn’t take much to cost a shooter points.

    • @TheBigfoot36904
      @TheBigfoot36904 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Mirage makes the target look like it's moving when it's actually not. The worse the mirage the more the target looks like it's moving.

    • @garrettbinley7349
      @garrettbinley7349 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheBigfoot36904 so there’s no slop at all in the target pulling mechanism ? Does it lock in place when raised? I’m suddenly very skeptical on the subject.

    • @stevekiemele995
      @stevekiemele995 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mirage looks wobbly. If you shoot beyond 100 yards, you’ll certainly see it. I see it at 50.

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a complicated answer and totally relative to the person/persons pulling them. Every range has a different type of mechanism and I do a video just on that. But basically the ones here (in Phoenix) are cantilever so yes they wobble when you pull them down and then send them up but 99.9% of the people pulling will stabilize them once they're up. So could it cost a shot, sure but everyone is on the same playing field.

    Switch to a left handed rifle! Right hand holds grip and pulls trigger while the left hand works the bolt and does mag change scope doping! Hold left hand on closed bolt pull down underneath scope adds 5/10 lbs to Rifle .recoil management. Try it and unlock your shooting experience! Stop the struggle!

    John, how does your scope view compare to your spotting scope?

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In terms of what the mirage looks like, it looks almost the same as what that camera view looks like.

      I've been using the March Majesta 8-80x for almost a year now and I really like it. I'm in the process of getting another one. The Trijicon Tensile is another great scope for the money and is under $2k

    Moving your legs when you work the bolt. Maybe it's throwing you off a little.

      Yeah I saw that, I usually do that but then lay it down when I fire. But I do rush sometimes and it's my biggest fault. I'm working on it but it aint' easy.
