Honestly, there don't feel like many "Xian" characters are in this game. Unfortunately, the best characters seem to be very straight forward (dare I say boring) compared to the usual Xian picks. Mike was right, AKI is probably the most Xian-like, but she has no reversal, so that's scary when Cammy is bulldozing her way in for free and throw looping the heck out of her. Maybe, Elena can remind him of his SF4 days?

He's definitely going all in on Terry when it comes. It's just a matter of if he makes the full switch or picks him up as a secondary
Juri. She is always under the radar despite being high tier. Xian would do great with her, I am certain.

Xian likes complicated characters. Why not JP? JP is complicated enough that he can do all the fancy ish JP does. Plus he won with an old man character before. Why not now??
I see no reason to drop Deejay. Instead of replacing him just work on a good secondary. A lot of top players like Xiaohai have the ability to choose among 2 or even 3 characters in his case depending on the match up.
He just needs a secondary for matchups like Ed and we're golden.

honestly thought he looked comfortable and even expressive with Aki.
Xian's aki was cooking even with the input errors. I love how his decision making was more comfortable with aki compared to Kimberly.

Dang, I relate. Current Deejay main, desperately trying to find a new character cuz he's just got too many holes in his toolset. Previous FANG main, everyone tells me to play AKI but I just don't enjoy playing her at all.
If only I could relate to his skill too, ha ha...

Rashido. I think this character is a great fit since there is alot of room for skill expression for Xian to express himself with out of the top tiers and has a great matchup spread.
It's such a hard call because I really like Xian's Dee Jay. I don't feel like Guile would be a good switch because he lacks Dee Jay's mixups, everyone has a Pocket Bison, Rashid and Ed need time, and I really don't see Xian as a Cammy player.
Lily doesn't feel like Xian's sauce, Manon is too slow, and Zangief doesn't fix the Level 1 issues.
Honestly, I'm hoping Terry works out as a secondary or even new main. The A.K.I. is obviously good but needs some comfort work and I can't in good faith give Kimberly the green light because James Chen.
Saying Cammy is top 3 is cope af. You could argue shes top 5. Though I'd disagree with you. Saying she belongs next to akuma rashid ed is just incorrect.
I'd say Kimberly for now. She's the closest Xian-Gen-like character on the roster currently
Pick the character you think is fun playing even if it’s a so called “low tier”. I think Kimberley is great and let’s hope she gets given a damage buff.
Don't drop Dee Jay. He needs all the representation he can get. As soon as S1 ended everyone dropped him. Xian and Fuudo are legit carrying the entire DJ army on their backs at this point.
the type of characters that Xian tends to like are unconventional characters with strong tools. makes me think Dee Jay is the perfect character for him, but not if he's lost faith in his character's ability to perform.

I started out as a Deejay main too, and he's probably still my best character. I had the same exact thoughts about quitting him due to burnout being giga unfun and wishing I had an invincible lvl1. PARTICULARLY a qcb lvl 1, which is why I will never have any pity for Ken players, ever.
I still don't know who to play. It's definitely not Cammy, Akuma isn't as fun as I'd hoped, and I'd rather stare at a wall than play Bison. Rashid/Ed is probably my best bet, they just takes a long ass time to feel like you aren't tripping over yourself.

Honestly, there isn't a character in SF6 that is suited to xian's playstyle. I agree with Mike that Deejay is probably the closest thing. Sadly Terry doesn't look like it either. If Elena is anything like her sf4 iteration that probably aint it either. Hopefully Mai works out...

I think you should go with one of the upcoming dlc characters like Terry/Mai/Elena or just stick to Deejay the rest of the season. After season 2 see how you feel.
My thinking is Rashid or Blanka. Someone who can score one knockdown and put you in the blender. If SFV Ibuki and Seth is anything to go by there's some unseen mix out there with Xian's name on it.
Ed similar to Seth. Chun similar to Gen and Deejay. Those two are for Xian.
