    Great fly, and tie! I agree, regular collar hackled is the way to go. Be it Catskill, or Adams etc. Parachute style has its place, but the beauty and allure, and fish ability of such classics are still around cause they work! ~Dan

    I never heard a Quill Gordon called a Slate Drake but may be missing something. I was under the impression the Slate Drake was the Isonychia Drake. ?

      You are correct, they are two different bugs. I am referring to the Quill Gordon "pattern" only, and the variation I tie to fish the Slate Drake hatch.

      Ralph Long. It is fantastic and challenging water. I try to spend as much time up there as possible. It's only about 50 miles from home..

      LOL...Thanks Kenneth. I enjoy Davies videos too. When the fish quit eating mine I'll maybe look into that. Good luck on the water.
