This is a really great take! Content creation is the modern way to get heard and sustain oneself financially in any creative endeavor. Also just a side note, the level of production in your videos these days is wildly amazing! Hope you are doing well :)
It's great that you chose to talk about the elephant in the room, I feel like a lot of people in the music production niche don't assume the fact that being a content creator as a music producer is like cheating or something, but in reality it is a way of making a living through music, just like having a band project and going on tour is another one. It's great that there are now many ways to live our passion, there will always be people to judge but hey, why should we care ! Anyways, this video and the previous one are of great help to me, so thank you for that, as always :)
Well I just spent over 6 hours editing todays video and its mostly just a screan capture with a voice over, and no I would definitely not be able to do music production properly and video production at the same time. My priority is always going to be music first, but most people who criticise don't even make any money or have any following at all and are jealous. What you do, is what You do, its ok to be doing videos just keep them about music on this channel and your good.

That's a thought provoking take. It makes me look at all the promotional stuff TH-camrs do in a different light. Thank you. Also, your definition of music producer makes sense and is also very liberating!
Totally agree, gates are always going to hate and if they are hating, then you are doing something right don’t give up or let them get into your head we all go this. Just keep pushing through 💯🔥🔥
THIS 100% Some of us use different avenues to build a community & earn money at the same time. For me, I live stream DJ sets so I can work on making music. It's been a bit for me to accept I dont need to be in front of Ableton 24/7 lol so this video def confirmed that.
Such a great video. I consider myself a part time music producer as I work usually full time as an AV Tech, though sometimes I don’t know even after 20 years of music producing whether I am an AV Tech or a Music producer as most of my money has always come from my full time job
When you make money and have proteges and interns doing all the other stuff that's my idea of a music producer, and gold chains, gotta have a goal to get there just like a musical idea, gotta aim high not necessarily stoned just with a beautiful mind to go far into the music realm so rock on if you are into that, you will never be too discouraged as long as it has a great sound to go with it. Thanx for the encouragement 😘
I disagree with most of what you said. The problem is the word Producer has become diluted and pretty much meaningless today. Like the person who goes and buys a guitar watches a ton of TH-cam's, learns a couple tunes and now tells everyone they are a musician, you are a guitar player not a musician takes a lot more skills. Same with real producers there are a lot more skills to learned to make that leap from someone who sits at home writing songs and recording them. Now I am an old guy got my first studio job in the 70's and worked with a lot of the big name producers and watched them work and know the skillsets they all had. So the person sitting at home writing songs and recording them one day may become a producer, but they aren't there yet. Back in my day you'd just call yourself a songwriter.
First of all 99% of music producers make money outside from pure music-art making. It is the system like that. But , unless you produce art (music ) regularly, these producers don't produce art. They are helping other producers, but they are not artists themselves. Also the professors in music schools are not artists, they teachother people how to make art..

At first glance I agreed with that idea, but thinking about it, it's not so obvious: how regularly? If someone made a few songs that became popular, we would consider that person a music producer, even if they don't produce any more songs. Then if someone made only a few songs that did NOT become popular, why wouldn't that person be considered a music producer also? That's why PLV got that definition right I think.. May be we could use "professional music producer", for people who make money from the musical stuff they make, that being songs, sound packs, presets and other related stuff, like YT videos, courses, like @PLV. If the balance goes to mostly YT videos and courses, yes, may be they could be considered more like "music educators". But that branding is up to them I think? Also, professors in music schools are definitely artists. I remember being moved by my piano teacher playing piano, for example. It's not because they are not popular artists, or that they don't make money from it, that they are not artists.
you can still be called a music producer even if you don't produce music, as i said most music producers make a living from other things. But if you don't produce music you cannot be called an artist, you can be called a music producer, but not an artist.
music teachers can be called artists , even if they rarely produce music themselves ?

Yes. For example, most professional classical pianists never composed anything. They just play pieces composed by someone else. But their interpretation is art, a piece of themselves. When music teachers play for their students, or in recitals, they do the same. Not to mention that teaching well is totally an art, lol.
The role of a producer is to put note, midi, audio into a arrangements of sound in a sequence for the end product. That end product can be a full song or some other audio product, and all other roles Mixing, Mastering, sound design, playing a instrument all additional skill but they are not production, they sand on there own as individual jobs.
@@musicbyplv i feel i have very little to contribute to the scene if anything at all. that the market is too saturated. but also mental health issues getting in the way. thank you for the reply. it's refreshing to actually have a conversation.
Ngl I always saw you as kind of a scam. That's because you don't talk about no music theory, or more in-depth music production stuff, and that's most of the content that I wanna see but everyone that could say you are not a producer or you are a bad producer because you gain more money selling how to make or sell music rather than actually making it is just wrong. You're in fact a music producer (a great one actually) and I don't care if you're making a living making music, making tutorials on how to make your music, selling you toes pics... I don't care. I can tell that you put a lof of effort trying to achieve the greatest quality possible on every single video. There are a bunch of channels that are actually a scam because they're only selling you how to be a 'successful music producer', and you clearly have talent and work hard for it. That's all. I said what I said. By the way, why you don't just make a video entirely just speaking in french lol I don't know, I'm kinda curious to hear it. I like your music so much, keep the great stuff, girl.

Haha my video editor is going to be happy then 😉

amazing (merci)♥
You're welcome!! Glad it helps ❤️
I agree. If you're a content creator, you're a content creator and sound like a hobbyist on the side.
THIS 100%

Yup my documentaries get my music heard 😂
Duuude that is such a cool way to go about it!!!! 😃 Well done!!!
The problem is everyone these days are just blaming with others because basically they are lazy. this is period ;)
That is unfortunately VERY true!!! 😉

Awesome video, thank you for the information. It opened up some sparked ideas. :)
I'm happy it got your creative juices flowing! 😊

Real != Professional (!= mean not in programming).
12 uninterrupted hours creating bangers in the studio 😂😂😂
Hahaha it's true though 😅

Spot on, haters gonna hate
Always 😅
using presets..does that cap your creative potential? or slow your genuine knowledge on mixing? lazy? maybe a video idea

Interesting!!! I could expend a lot on that, we'll see if I get to it one day :)
everyone knows being a music producer doesnt pay that much most of the time.
Yeah that's why we have to find different avenues and use today's tools to do so :)
i'm a producerr but i don't have a channel and so i'm not a content creator. i wish i was though.
What's stopping you then if it's what you wish to do? 🤔

Real music producers make all their money from bitcoin
😅😅😅

No one forces you to watch.
