- 5 Locomotives Move A Stopped Freight Train With One Locomotive Pushing The Rear Of The Train And Working Hard! First, We Revisit The Bouncy Bridge & See 2 Fast Trains With DPUs Roaring Past. Train Comes Around Curves In Hamilton & Drops The Signal. Includes Train Station Update. 5 CSX And Norfolk Southern Trains In Somerville & Hamilton, Ohio.
I returned to the old bouncy railroad bridge near Somerville, Ohio. Due to popular demand I finally came back and got 2 trains going over the bridge. The bridge was fixed a while ago and no longer bounces. I got two fast trains with DPUs booking over the bridge. Check out the frozen creek and look at an old railroad tie plate that I found in the creek, possibly from the 1800s.
Then I go to Hamilton, Ohio and get 4 more trains, we see a train dropping the signal and we see an update on the Hamilton Depot.
The first train had been stopped just a short distance north. The train had 4 locomotives on the front and 1 locomotive pushing on the rear. It is going faster as it picks up speed.
Then a CSX train goes past the railroad crossing and was so long that a couple of cars turned around. One car turned around right when the end of the train was coming into sight LOL.
After that we take a look at the Hamilton train station. This was per request also. Not much has changed although the roof was repaired.
The final train is seen running through the S curves and passing the interchange of the CSX and Norfolk Southern. This train knocks down the signal. That is railroad jargon which means the lights drop to red as the train passes the signals. In this case there were two lights that changed colours: a green light went to red and a yellow light went to red.
Don't forget the Live Action Pets and the slide show at the end of this video.
Filmed Tuesday, January 28, 2025 in 1080p/4K with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

DPU power working hard 💪 awesome video JT thanks and have a great weekend greetings from Scotland 😊🏴🇺🇲
Thanks for watching!
@JawTooth Thank you JT you're welcome 😊
Mr. Tooth, thank-you very much for the special birthday shout out to my dear friend in Kansas. He was delighted and it was wonderful to hear his reaction. 🎉🙂
I sincerely apologize for the belated appreciation for your acknowledgement of Richard and myself.
I was wearing many hats on my weary head.
Thank-you for your understanding.🙏
The Hamilton, Ohio town is my #1 favorite place where you film trains! Always lengthy, cool sounds from the loco's and the industrial setting (love the smokestack of old!!) make my day. ❤🚂 🙂
Your welcome and thanks for watching my videos!
That first train's speed looked dangerous. Too fast for that bridge.😮 Goodness what's the hurry! Loved the DPU on second NS train ❤ We're amazed at how much knowledge you have about trains ,railroads and the towns you visit. Cool!😊love your live action pets. Cool.❤😊Thanks
We need more bouncing bridges so you can film them. Another great video, thanks 😊 !
Thanks for watching! I have been looking but I haven't found a replacement yet lol
I don’t know about more bouncy bridges. That is a lot of weight moving and the vibration.
Hi JT!
Magnificent video. I especially liked the group of 5 NS locomotives.
Thank you for your work, have a nice weekend!😊😊🤝☕️
Thanks for watching!
Sir…. Love your shows. You love what you do and it shows🤠. Super thanx on its way! Favor if you can. I am doing a historical houses (inside and out)tour in honor of the 250 th anniversary of the USA. I want to buy the equipment you use. I know you work hard to get the “good stuff”. All I get in my little town for advice is “use you phone”. What do you use.? Looking at GoPro type of stuff. Sending you a super thanks in advance. If you can’t answer have breakfast on me. 🤠
Thanks for the Super Thanks! I really appreciate it and it will go towards the gas. Thanks! This video was filmed mostly with the Iphone 10. My night shots are filmed with the Iphone 16. Thats really all I use. I don't even use a tripod. I film in 1080 and 4K at 60 frames per second. I travel as light as possible because I have to do a lot of walking. I also have a couple of Iphone 8s
Hey Jaw tooth. My husband watches you ALL the time. He makes sure to watch Ads ,also. His birthday is Feb. 2nd. I Would appreciate a shout out to him. "Roger Leopard ". We watch every episode you do. We enjoy your commentary, too.
Sure, I will give him a shout out. I don't know which video since I have 3 that I have put together and a couple more I am working on
Let’s GOOOOOO MR TOOTH!!!!! It’s gonna be a fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine day!
Live action!
That old bouncy bridge looks very pretty in the snow, wow the trains go fast over it. Awesome video JT, hope you & Scott 1960 Gambit having a great time railfanning. 😊👍❤
Thanks for watching!
Big ol' trains!
Thanks for watching!
Good fast freight, hard working engines great video thanks Brian souvenir old tie plates
Thank you for watching!
This is really nice seeing the bouncy bridge again along with all of the train action in Ohio, a lot of locomotives, DPU'S, CSX and other great train stuff
as well as the awesome super pets in action and some music slide videos
have a nice Friday and weekend thanks Jaw Tooth.☕🚂🚃🚃🚑🇺🇲
Thank You Jaw Tooth for the great video and the babbling brook bouncy bridge! Be Well
Thank you too!
Three AWESOME Norfolk Southern mixed freight trains and one AWESOME Norfolk Southern double stack intermodal train. Thanks for sharing JT!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you, Jaw Tooth, for taking us back to Somerville, Ohio, and the former "bouncy" bridge. It has been a while since we were last at this location. The two Norfolk Southern trains that you caught at this location were in a hurry to pass this location. The old tie plate was an interesting find. It was a promising idea to return to Hamilton, Ohio after you caught the two trains near Somerville, Ohio. The manifest freight trains you saw in Hamilton, Ohio had a nice variety of freight cars in the trains. Thank you for another look at the Hamilton, Ohio depot. Hopefully, more work will be done in 2025 to this depot. (Posted on 31 January 2025 at 1942 CST.)
Thanks for watching!
JT, another brilliant freight trains 🚆 video 📹 awesome captures bud 👏 👍 really excellent viewing 👍
Many thanks!
Good job Brian! Your videos probably stoped a horrible derailment by bringing the bouncy bridge to the attention of NS to get it fixed.👏👍
Thanks for watching! I hope so, it was bouncing really bad! I found out that they fixed it because of my videos.
Ozzy, Black Sabbath, and lets not forget about Tony Iommi
Jaw Tooth ROCKS!!!!!
Tony Iommi is my favorite guitar player. I love playing his riffs on my guitars
Good to see the bouncy bridge again and the old train station in Hamilton. Some really fast trains on the bridge. Great variety of trains in Hamilton. Thank you JT. Stay safe. ❤
Glad you enjoyed it
Hey jaw tooth glad you got some good trains. Glad bridge doesn't bounce anymore. Stay safe and warm. Have a great railroad day. 🚂🙋♀️

Superb videos . Thanks. Gorgeous light too. Loved the stream with snow and ice. Great videos.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for explaining the axel count scenario. Always wondered.
Thanks for watching!
Great show. Love the speed on the bouncy bridge. As for picking up the sound of the engines and DPU’s, I recommend to your viewers to wear headphones. You pick up so many great sounds that you otherwise might not hear. Thanks Jawtooth.
Nice job catching those trains Jaw tooth keep it up. And be safe while Railfanning out there please and have fun with While doing it please
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching!
Yep, where's the radar gun?
@ I have it with me but I just don't use it a lot. I will use it again soon
Yes we all like the radar gun.
Your videos keep getting better and better, its rather relaxing and tranquil to sit back on the lazyboy chair and watch😊

Looking forward to seeing your videos in Florida. Always something awesome there to watch. Great video. Have a nice day
Thanks for watching! I hope to find some good footage when I get down there.
Awesome trains. Hamilton, The land of monsters doesn't disappoint. Horn salutes. It will be nice when they get that station finished. That reverse move on Tampa is pretty cool. Yes saw it knocking down the signal. 🎉. Thanks for the video Brian stay well roll on
Thanks for watching! thanks for the Super Thanks also! I just got home from Lillias soccer game. They lost 6 to 3 but Lillia got a goal so that was awesome. I left with only 3 minutes left in the game and I missed the goal LOL. Tomorrow I am back at the trains though and I appreciate your support so thanks again Mark!
Another great video, JT and man as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one

Florida weather has warmed up. It should be great for rail fanning 😅
I am looking forward to it. I can't wait to go to Lakeland and Vero Beach. Those are two of my favourite places
Thank you Jaw Tooth for excellent video, and I hear you went with Scott to Kenova, WV to film, that place is one of my favorite location for watching trains especially coming over that long steel bridge. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday, take care, my friend.
Thanks for watching! I was also there a week ago and I posted a few videos from then
@@JawTooth Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
Cool. The depot looks very good.
I agree, they do a great job on the depot!
great set of trains, nice work.
that car that turned around, they raced westward trying to beat the train and were just in time to catch the gate coming down and the beginning of the train.
Talk about winning the lottery!!!
Thanks for watching!
Ah, yes...Hamilton (OH)...one of my favorite "JT" stops!! "On a good day", the horn "displays" are special...take, for example, NS 100 approaching you @11:00 with that classic David P. Morgan "Blaaat...blaaat...BLAT...blaaat". I'm not in favor of graffiti on railcars, but the "tag" on the KCS autorack @23:05 -- "Alfreighto" -- was, indeed, clever! Watching that long string of autoracks roll by, I was amazed to see that "ancient" UP car @26:31...look at those old end doors and that rusted-over roof!! Wow... 😯👍👍
Thanks for watching!
That car at 26:31 was ancient. I could see through it also
good to see that spot again JT..great video as always
Thanks 👍
There appears to be a lot of railroad history under that bridge...... old tie plate, ancient wood pilings from some earlier bridge, concrete base (or top) which had wood pilings going through it (see holes), and what was apparently concrete supports on each side of the creek for an earlier bridge (camera side). Interesting stuff. Thanks, Brian.
Thanks for watching!
Nice echo on that second train. And looks like there used to be a second track crossing that ‘crick’ .
Thanks for watching!
Always, an awesome job.😊
Thanks for watching!
Nice big Norfolk Southern catches
Thanks for watching!
😅Bedankt voor de mooie video, fijn weekend nog met jou familie,😅greetz:🍐Peer.🤣❤👍👍👍👍
Hey Jawtooth that was an awesome video. I always enjoy watching your videos! 👍❤️
Thanks for watching!
Ah yes Black Sabbath, i remember those good old 70's . Rock on Jaw Tooth😊
I used to play their songs on guitar all the time
WOW, the speed is high there! That second train had no buffer between Locomotives and tankers!
Great trains you caught here, thanks for sharing!
CSX trains too!
Thanks for watching! That is a pretty hefty train and those engines were really pulling!
Love that NS DPU working out hard!!!
Thanks for watching!
Nice video...i guess it was your truck parked on the other side of the bouncy bridge...lots of interesting graffiti on the first 2 trains...liked the live action pets...kitty was cute..the 2 dogs remind me of ours playing...lots of teeth..Hamilton looks like a little depressed area..maybe just because i see the train station being in disrepair...your videos are pretty much the only train videos i watch..the other ones out there are cool and all ,but yours are more down to earth videos..if you know what i mean...thanks JT
JT your videos give us a chance to see the real American as the trains passes over through the small towns and cities.
Thanks for watching!
Wow! A two-toot salute to start the day
Thanks for watching!
Jawtooth! That car carrier train had some amazing artwork on it, great job on catching those pieces. Don't try deciphering any meaning behind the letters, just admire the skills of the taggers.
Thanks! Will do!
Pretty scenery as the train passes over the bouncing bridge and I’m a hurry.
Over 40 auto-racks!
Thanks for watching!
Wow! That first train was haulin' the mail!
Sure is!
Thanks!
Thanks for watching! Thanks for the Super Thanks! That is very generous and will help out a lot with the gas. I was just getting ready for bed and noticed it. In the morning I am going to head out for some filming. That will move my truck a long way Lol. Thanks again Ron!
Awesome video JT!!!
Thanks!!
@@JawTooth You're welcome!!!

Morning! Thanks for watching!
Very awesome shots there, as always, Brian. Those bridge shots are so awesome where those DPUs cross them. Stay safe and warm, my friend.
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the bouncey bridge action
Nice day, good company. Thanks for the nice start of the day. Goodbye January 2025. Like your videos it went by to quick. Seems like days are like a long train. The cars may slowly go by but before you realize it, it’s gone by.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome enjoyed the video. I seen a video the other day of where a lot of Big Boy statues are They are located at their corporate headquarters in Cincinnati
Thanks for the info. I would like to have one of those lol
Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed that video👍👍
Thanks 👍
Nice that they finally fixed the bouncy bridge before the rail fractured.
Thanks for watching! I agree, it's good they got it fixed!
So, now it is the Ex-Bouncy Bridge! You brought attention to it and they might have been embarrassed.
Thanks for watching my video! They fixed it because of my videos. Maybe I helped prevent something
Brian, you never get through a Frisch's drive thru in a hurry. NEVER!!
Finally hitting 80 here in
Tampa Florida tooth! At least you won’t freeze your hand off here! Lots of good mixed freight trains today!
Thanks for watching! I am headed south soon!
How I tell the number of cars is, take the number of axles and divide by 4. Exclude the locomotives. You are about right.
Thanks for watching!
Cant wait for your Ashland train videos awesome cacths and some big power on those trains
Great catch in Hamilton
Thanks for watching!
Another awesome video, those boxcars are my favorite.
Thanks for watching!
FYI. The pinkish looking potash cars are from mines in Saskatchewan. Potash Corp is a conglomerate potash shipper. When railfanning in Calgary or west, the trains hauling potash to export usually have 2 locomotives on point, 1 or 2 middle DPU and DPU on the end, and the trains can weigh upward of 20000 tons. They are hauled down to FL to mix the potash with phosphate mined in FL as part of the mixture.
Yep as well as in Utah and New Mexico also. Commonly know hats potassium. One of the three major nutrients used the other two being nitrogen and phosphorus.
Thanks for the info! That's a lot of potash! I'm going to film some potash trains in Florida next month
I enjoyed that. TY
always great content!
I appreciate that!
Thanks for the update on the not bouseing bridge and the train station when you going to Florida
Thanks for watching! I am going in late February
Where are you going after you been in Florida back home
@@StevenWestfall-i7h Marion Ohio, Cirlcleville, Ohio and LaGrange, Ky for sure
Shoot no more bouncy bridge thanks for the effort to get up there to film it maybe u can do a short before and after video on it have a great weekend JT 😊 👍
I appreciate you watching!
👍
JT, did NS fix the bouncy bridge after watching your videos?
I wonder too. I keep the emergency numbers for all the railroads I railfan on my phone. BNSF appreciated the three times over the past ten years I gave them a heads up for a malfunction. Wisconsin Southern has been less interested and once told me to call the sheriff when there was a drunk man walking down the middle of their tracks. Said the sheriff would get to him sooner than he could contact the crew on the approaching train ????
Great idea. I’ve contacted NS twice on failing track at two different locations thru the blue placard numbers and within a week crews had come out to repair the damaged section.
Awesome bouncy bridge video. I'm sure your videos had something to do with getting it fixed. Back in the late 1800s to early 1900s 73lb. rail was standard for mainlines, probably what the tie plate was from. Most of the yard here in Rhinelander is 1889 73lb. relay in 36ft. lengths. Enjoyed this one much, thanks JT!
Thanks for watching! I was told that they fixed it because of my videos so that is awesome. Hopefully an accident was averted.
Good morning JT and Brian. Keep them videos rollin' and where is your radar gun? 😊
Thanks for watching! I have it with me but just haven't used it much lately. I will use it more though
It was fun watching NS hit that trampoline bridge before. Maybe years from now, it might bounce again!
Thanks for watching!
❤️ the videos. When we get close to valentine's day it's my husband's birthday, please give a shout out to Retired CSX engineer, Eddie Willis. He will be 77 years young!!! Enjoy your day. 😊
Sure, I will give him a shout out. Not sure which video yet since I am working on a few . Thanks for watching!
Nice Capture!
🥀🌺🇮🇳🌺🥀
Thanks a lot 😊
Yea that bridge is cool gald you came back good train to
Thanks for watching!
Thank you .Our city is unique in that the trains run thru the city on an elevated track. Therefore none of the roads are blocked by trains.I
There are a few like that like Ft Wayne and Dayton that I want to film.
Nice to see Potash and Gravil Cars
Yeah!
Great non bouncy shots. Good catch on the DPU - was that an SD 70 ? - I see you! AND NS1010 - EMD out front, who can ask for more. Needed it for a train of that size. LIVE ACTION!
Thanks for watching!
DPU on the first train was an SD70ACe, yes. Easiest way to tell is the shape of the radiator flare. On SD70s, it's roughly flat on top and angled out at 45 degrees underneath. On GEs, it's roughly flat underneath and angled like a roof on top. The other major differences are the fuel tank and nose shapes. GE fuel tanks have vertical sides and a 45-degree slope between that and the bottom; EMDs have a more complex profile. GE noses are like a cube but with two triangles shaved off to improve forward visibility; again, EMDs have a more complex shape
Good video Jaw Tooth !
Thanks for watching!
Good video Brian. I love the new castle district. Just wish there was more traffic
Me too. There are a lot of good places to film. I was going to go to where the two old bridges are just north of Camden but it was slow the day I was there so I went back to Hamilton
Good morning Jaw Tooth.
Good morning!
Good Morning Jaw Tooth
Fast freights, woohoo, let's hear it. Quite a few flat spots in clusters on that train too..
Thanks for watching!
HA! grandson and I caught that NS locomotive 1010 on the CRC Cams that day. He commented that it should be called "The Binary Unit" (1010101010)...I thought it was pretty funny, and he's right. We have the Bar Code Unit, why not the Binary Unit? 😁
