Wow - nice to see the exact cruise we shall take in February 2024! Can you comment on the ship itself? We have not done a lot of cruises but generally like having our table and set dining time - get to know the waiters and staff etc. That does not seem to be the case here - what was your impression? And what about the balcony cabin - I’ve heard it is “small” (older ship, remodeled in 2020) - but we really don’t spend all that much time in our room! Thanks for any ship comments and again, what a nice video of the itinerary / stops!!! Thanks!! Steve on 23 Sept 2023
Fantastic.. you are going to have a great time. The NCL Spirit IS one of NCL's smaller ships (which we prefer) and is beautiful. The balcony rooms fit our need nicely. Think of dinning as having a choice of restaurants... you can make a reservation or just show up (assuming the restaurant isn't a specialty restaurant where a reservation IS required). We like to eat early so there is hardly every a time we have had to deal with reservations or a crowd. We also like to 'latch' onto a serve. We may discover our pick of server at dinner or breakfast. If we find someone we like at breakfast, we just ask which dinning room they work for dinner.. then ask for them by name. Thank you for sharing. Looks exactly like what i imagine a perfect cruise itinerary looks like. May i know if all the port excursions you did were booked through NCL?
We are doing the NCL Spirit from Auckland NZ to Sydney Australia in Feb 2024 and was mostly curious about the shore excursions. Are there any that are a "must". Often, we forego the excursions and enjoy strolling the town at the port or a hop on hop off bus. Since we are coming from Florida, I don't want to miss a "must see". Too far of a trip to repeat and a lot more world to see. Any info would be appreciated.
Eden- we walked. Melbourne- A big city, we bus toured, Burnie- Devils and Roos (a must see), Dunedin- walked town and did a harbor wildlife cruise, Christchurch- Town and Country (must do), Wellington- canceled, Napier- walk, Tauranga- The Rotorua Experience (great for learning more about the Maori culture). Don't forget to get your on-line Visa's for both countries.
@@kentaylor2416 haha, I imagine compared to Auckland it would. I throughly enjoyed Port Chalmers. It was one of my favorite stops with all the wildlife there not to mention the cute town.
Just done that cruise from Sydney -Eden--Burnie-Melbourne-Milford-Doubtful sound etc etc, was ace..
Two of my sisters and I are taking the same cruise in January ‘24. - can’t wait!!!
Nice trip. Beautiful views! Added to my cruises bucket list.😊

It was a great itinerary and yes, all of our excursions were booked through NCL. Some ports we supplemented with self guided town walks.

Nicely done. What video hardware did you use?
Thank you!! Most video is shot using iPhone 14 with some additions from a Sony RX100 M7. Timelapse is from a GoPro 8.
Nice trip
Yes, it was!! Highly recommended!
@@vdmfam I live in Auckland.
I have a friend who lives in Port Chalmers.
It really does feel like the end of the earth down there.
