Great review! My favorite translation is: 1) NASB 1995, 2) LSB, 3) ESV, 4) NKJV, 5) KJV. I grew up on the KJV, double column with bright read letters. Now that I've been in the faith for some time and have many copies of God's word in various translations, I prefer single column paragraph layout in about a 9.5-10.5 black letter text font, something that the NASB does not have, so I can live with this format. I also can do a double column paragraph format. I found out yesterday that Steadfast is bringing this Bible back out, so I'll have to check it out!

Thank you for your thorough review. Now I know what the Legacy Standard Bible will look like format wise. 😊
Will you be purchasing the whole Legacy Standard Bible when it is available?

Hey Tamara, thanks for the comment! I have the current released LSB New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs. I am interested for sure in checking it out. Hoping it will be like this Bible in layout!

I don't think I've ever owned a Bible with 3 ribbons, but that is really interesting!

I’m thinking of getting this Bible for my birthday. I’m wanting a good Bible for preaching/ministry.
    Some others I’ve tossed over:
    Zondervan NASB SCR. (2nd print)
    Lochman NASB SCR (steadfast edition)
    RL Allan Readers ESV
    Cambridge ESV Wide margin
Any others you think may be more desirable for me?

Crossway ESV Preaching Bible has a similar format to this Preachers Bible Handy Size NASB. I’ve been meaning to make a video to cover it also…but life is very full. Really nice Bible, just released this year!

for expositional preaching this is the one ! all the cross references and footnotes are dealt with in sermon prep... this is for the pulpit where all the work has been done before hand...

Amen, yes!! Also good for those who like a reading Bible or for the ease of note taking or Scripture memorization! Crossway has a similar layout coming early 2021

Very nice Bible, but without cross references it’s not the one for me.

Yes, for study cross references are a must. One of my favorites is the new Topaz by Cambridge. I might do a video on that next!

Living Christian My favorite layout is the Clarion. The cross references are so easy to use without losing your spot in the text.

IF this was in NKJV, then it would be the best bible. LOL. I love NASB but I now like the NKJV better.

I agree. However, I am very much appreciating the LSB which has the same layout and better NASB text.

The most important thing is the word of God not how the Bible is made It's about Jesus Not who is the Publisher I care less who they are I will go buy a Bible for $10 as long as I see that it says Jesus is God that's what matters

    • @LivingChristian
      @LivingChristian  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, you are correct. The Word of God is the most important thing. Most people that listen to a Bible review like this are probably already of that understanding. And yes better to have the Word in a $10 format than to not have it at all. Since that is not currently the case in the west there are choices and I would rather spend money on a quality Bible than other things we could spend our money on. It is a luxury that we are blessed with. I am thankful that God’s Word is in all formats (expensive to inexpensive), because it means that more copies of His Word is produced.

@@LivingChristian You are wrong luxury is not what Jesus was talking about What you are doing is using God To make money That's not being blessed

I’m sorry if I’m not being clear. When I said it’s a luxury…I was using a figure of speech, meaning that it is a privilege. It is not a necessity but a privilege to own a Bible that is made with nice materials. From my perspective, I see that a Bible made with fine materials represents the principal of uplifting the Word just as Solomon made God’s temple with the finest materials, the ark of the covenant was made from pure gold. It is not a sin to made things in fine materials, what matters is the heart. If the heart of a person believes the Word of God should be made with fine materials because it is the most precious truth we have, I think this is a fine desire. God has given us things to enjoy, I am sorry if my review made you stumble in any way. I appreciate your heart to make sure my heart is in the right place. To be clear this video is an endorsement of a Bible that I value and enjoy and in no way did I receive any compensation or the like for this review, there is no Amazon link or anything that could provide a kick back to me in any way. Simply sharing my love for the way this Bible was designed. Let us band together to focus on the Gospel, because that is the message of hope and eternal life! Blessings to you in Christ

another bible..there are already over 200 new age bibles.. So many that young people no longer believe in the bible.. they say it can not be true because they all say different things... and saying they have to all say different thing to get a copyright so folk can make money off them is not really what they need to hear...These are the ugly fruits Jesus speaks of if you want to know Good from evil.. Some even changed John 3:16 from Gods only begotten Son to Gods one and only Son.. which of course not true. we are all Gods Sons and Daughters he said So... think its a mistake.. If your bible has no unicorns its not really the bible as they have changed it to get money... Unicorns are Rhinos.. Science was more faithful than most of the new age bibles... they call the Rhino the Unicornus.. Those who change and print Gods word for money will be facing the God whos words they changed... every Lord they changed to word he. Jesus they changed to the word him.. and every weapon they took from man kind... like the power of fasting and prayer.. Some kinds only come out with fasting and prayer... Devils getting his chuckles over that... When was the last time you fasted..Jesus says his disciples will fast when he is gone. Oh wait.. you may not be reading the bible ...but one of the new books .. Page one... the whale.. changed to giant sea creature...did that help you understand the bible..no its needed to get copyright..have to change it by 30% Do you have the bible..Most ministers do not..

I appreciate your concern for the truth and the passion you have to proclaim errors in translations. You are right, there are some who desire money and have made translations for their own greed. I do however believe there are people with the intentions to make sure the Word is properly translated so it can be understood accurately. The focus is not on making money but making sure the Word is correctly translated. There is debate on which manuscripts are the most accurate, which may be where your comment is stemmed from, not 100% sure. There are several faithful interpretations/translations available (KJV, NKJV, ESV and NASB).
Your comment on John 3:16 for example. The KJV and NKJV say “only begotten”. They both add the word only because that’s not in the original manuscript, but it does emphasize the point the text is making therefore not taking anything away from the Word. The ESV says “only Son”. The word “only” actually means begotten. Both translations are faithful to the meaning. Does this mean that we are not sons and daughters? Of course not. But we are adopted into the family of God because of what Christ has accomplished and made available through His death, burial and resurrection. These are pressing times. We need to plaid our eyes on Christ and point people to Him. All that the Father gives the Son will be His (John 6). We need to be faithful in the Word and abide in Him! Whether the translations says unicorns or not is not relevant to salvation or knowing God and Who He Is!
