It depends on what his expenses were vs. what they are right now. Also considering that this is his home and workspace 135 sq. ft isn’t much. 85 gallons of fresh water is probably less than what you would use in a house and free power is…free power. Depending on how long he stays in any given area to make his videos -say maybe a week-he’s not driving out on some highway burning gas, exposing himself to crazy highway drivers, piling wear and tear on a car which over the long haul is going to require major repairs. Constant oil changes, a couple of new batteries depending on how long you have it. Repair if someone wrecks it or you do, tires, brakes. We had a 2012 truck that needed a new tranny. That was a cool $5k we didn’t have! I’m sure I could go on. Between a car and house I bet he got off cheaper than if he lived in a house! Cheap is a matter of perspective anyway. What you might refuse to pay $50 for might not bother me one bit!
Mike's enthusiasm is extremely contagious. Love the layout inside. Everything you need, beautifully arranged. Wishing him an abundance of exciting years crossing the globe. Thank you for sharing. 👍🏼👍🏼
Wow! You'd never expect the interior to be as beautiful as it is looking at the outside of the rig....I guess I just expected it to look more "rugged". It's absolutely beautiful and I can see how Mike would be very happy and comfortable in his little home. Happy traveling!

This is absolutely incredible. Very well done, that’s a lot of expensive batteries! What a system. The kitchen is very impressive and love the sink! It feels like so many people are rich and I’m guessing I missed that boat 😆.
No navy showers? Really dig this rig. Great job! What made you decide to go with so many smaller watt solar panels rather than 3-4 higher watt panels? Save space up top. Could have a rooftop deck. Also why not a mini split for heating and cooling? Or do you chase 70 degrees? (I know I would) Unfortunately as much as I would love to travel, being tethered to doctors visits makes it tough. Vaya con Dios!!
Love the landrover! Any guides to restore one. I’ve always shopped military surplus but would need some guidance. Started converting a shuttlebus but the base frame needs to be 4x4 for future. What are your thoughts on using a 4x4 Ford Lightening or equivalent? Trying to come up with an electric option this next build.
Can u imagine an Indian trucker getting his hand's on that it truly would be king of the road all decked-out Haha like flower-power wit all there lil paintings on the truck's as they all do 'be the grouse don't ya think lol
Its all relative from where you stand financially…to this man, maybe this is inexpensive…to others, it would be car camping, with a tent. The US is a vast country with very diverse people and varying degrees of financial abilities…and also many in debt up to their eyeballs..lol
Hey Mike, enjoying your video! what a fabulous lifestyle! was wondering since you are predominantly on solar, if you have ever been in a extended period of very little sunlight? it would seem you would wintertime wooded areas. and when that happens do you need to use your alternative sources of power? Also curious what kind of gas mileage you get?
Love it! My dream vehicle.

Absolutely love this!!
Great rig!
Amazing!!!
This is only possible if you're independently wealthy or have some other type of income like rental properties managed by someone else.
Or you can work remotely. Many van lifers do.
I agree. This was not an inexpensive build and he has a lot of expensive toys.
wow. you did a real good job. love it.
Gracias
S&S M1079s are so dope

Man, I can only dream to do this
I love this ride❤
@11:20 lol, the canoe covers 30% of the solar panels. Priorities, I guess.

I feel like Americans don't know what inexpensive means 😂
*inexpensive for us.
Inexpensive for us.
Some of us do know what it means. This build definitely isn’t “inexpensive.” 😂

I get about 9-10 mpg. I do tend to choose locations that more sun is available.
Awesome rig.
What is the interior ceiling height?
6’ 7”
@@drivetheglobe thank you. I have 3 years before I can build mine.
