There are a lot of lazy paddlers that don't keep an eye out for surfers dropping in. That could be deadly at the pipe. I would have to school some of these guys.
Kinda fucked how these guys pay people to film them risking their lives so they can make a living off the footage, yet this guy (and many others) can just sit on the beach and leech off of their hard work. They do insane training, have people on their payroll, and are the ones out there risking their lives. I’m sure “surfers of Hawaii” doesn’t have any bad intentions, but when you sit there on the beach filming other people’s waves and put out a bare-minimum edit within hours, you take away from these surfers who are trying to put out good edits where people can see these waves go down for the first time. I think koa mentioned something about letting the surfers themselves put out the clips first before you try to profit off them.
Interesting point of view! I think it’s just surfing. We all love it. We love surfing our home breaks around the world. We love watching pipeline the best wave in the world when it’s on. I love seeing all the different types of waves and all the different people sending it. Share the stoke. If you want to surf for money go right ahead.
Bullshit, when it comes to these big hyped up swells, it's a free for all! If you're paying people to film you then be smart like Jamie and pay your editor extra to pull an All-Nighter so you can put your content out first. That's exactly what JOB did this morning because he knows the deal already
@@kylekaiser9525 ya Jamie is on top of that shit for sure. It just sucks because he used to put out well-done edits with a story line, but is now forced to post half-assed edits because he knows that all of these poachers will release the clips first thing in the morning.
@@summthinspecial Yes there's nothing more annoying then having someone cut in on your shoot and profit from something that you arranged but when it comes to an epic 6-10 ft. day at Pipe, you should expect that 100 cameras or more are going to try to get a piece of the action and upload it quickly straight off the camera. It just comes with the territory. Of course I understand the point you are trying to make with filmers working hard and taking time to put a quality production together versus guys that put raw footage out immediately to catch more views
Still blows me away the drops that surfers can make in these waves.
Absolute worriors
No way.. Benji. Definitely gets the wave of the day for that one. RLTW 3/75
His wave was nuts!!
The natural sound of the ocean can be soothing, scary and exhilarating. Our prayers out to Joao.
🙏🏼🙏🏼
The crowd is crazy. Not like in the 60s when the only one out was Greg Noll. Sure has changed
I counted almost 70 people at one point. Crazy
the wave at 10:49 was amazing

@7:25 - Pipeline doesn't care how long you've been surfing there. You still gotta pay.

Slow mo makes it so much better!!
At 15:38 that was a critical take off and a squared-out barrel. That could be a candidate for wave of the winter.
Easily one of the larger and cleanest/most perfect wave of the day.
1:26 holy fawk

@@guyfitter3006 ya dude I agree. It’s a difficult topic, considering the ocean is obviously a public space.
