The first Rose Bowl since 1968 with a Big 10 team not named Michigan/Ohio State
Iowa was demolished. I have no way of proving it but I think the final score was 28-0 in favor of Washington.

Hayden Fry built a program at Iowa.Rose Bowl wins not included.Still a good coach
Perhaps worth noting that Fry used the Bowls Games as a reward for his teams--not necessarily going all out for the win--as teams would do today?!?

They screwed up the W in Iowa in the end zone. It proved to be a bad omen for the Hawkeyes.
0:50 Iowa fans get their final chance to cheer, as the Hawkeyes come out onto the field. It was all downhill from there.
Its funny how olsen says next to nothing and the color guys today never shut their mouths
I think that has a lot to do with editing. When you cut out everything but the action, you're mostly going to hear from the play by play guy.
Merlin Olsen. Old "Father Murphy" himself. Dick Enberg made a reference to the show saying the ratings were good
