Running lean means that you are only getting gas and not getting oil... The opposite of running lean is running rich where you are getting too much oil in your gas/air/oil ratio. Running rich and lean are terms that are usually only used when dealing with carb'ed engines and not fuel injected ones. Plus, I don't know how replacing a fuel pump would fix a car that is getting too much gas and not enough oil( AKA running lean). I'd put money on the fact that your old fuel pump was fine and had nothing to do with your issue. If your engine is running lean and not getting enough oil, I'd say that you may have a sludge problem in your oil pan/pickup tube. Might want to drop your oil pan and take a look if there is any sludge blocking your oil from getting pulled up your oil pickup tube and dispersed throughout your engine. Maybe try 2 bottles of seafoam in your oil, drive the car for 500 miles and then change the oil. I have heard of people cleaning sludged up engines which were running lean by doing that.
Hmm, I've never heard "lean" and "rich" refer to oil before. It sounds like you're talking about 2 strokes or rotaries? I replaced the fuel pump and it fixed my problem
Supafrancis tell me you haven’t got the slightest clue what you’re talking about without telling me you haven’t got the slightest clue what you’re talking about.
