The constructions under the rock are fantastic, the path between landscapes and the valley is so beautiful, meeting with the snake wow... beautiful video 😉👏64👍💪❤
How awesome to see that snake before you even started the trail. Those hiking conditions sounded really challenging - hats off to Gen for making that entire hike. I know by the end of travel; I get so exhausted and then you add in the heat of a hot day. Mesa Verde is such a beautiful place and I love how you showed the vultures, the yucca and the petroglyphs. The wild horses at the end were awesome too. That one looked like a baby.
Thank you. Mesa Verde is definitely underrated. There’s so much beauty and history in one spot. The heat and continuous hiking and traveling every day took a toll on Gen. Her body just said I’m done. There was a baby horse at the end. The other one looked pregnant.
Wow guys the largest Archeological site in North America, this was brilliant and you did seem like you did a lot of effort and research for this video, so good 👏 I loved seeing those cave dwellings, soo old I agree especially thinking of how Europe didn't even know that America existed in the 1100s. Petroglyphs fascinate me and these were so amazing to see, I also loved the rock colour and formations. Lots of uphill and scrambles not the views from up there were beautiful and with the sun shining, we got to see it at its best. This was fabulous 👍~ Anna
Thank you Anna. I have always loved the southwest US. The colors of the rocks and their formations are beautiful. Seeing the cliff dwellings were definitely a sight to see. There were lots more in the park that I didn’t show. It’s hard to believe that the dwellings and petroglyphs are still here after so many years.
Hey, she was willing to redo the shoot for you😁 It looks beautiful out there! I can feel the heat through the screen🌞 Sweet lizards🦎🦎 Those cliff dwellings are pretty cool to see! What happens if they catch you with a sports drink out there? 16:49
I had no idea what you were talking about when you said sports drink. I had to look up that time stamp and saw the sign. I’m guessing they don’t want people leaving anything for the animals. They can’t stop us from bringing water. The whole area was beautiful. I really enjoyed learning about the cliff dwellings. You are the first person the mention the scene about throwing me off the mountain and doing a retake. Thanks for watching. 😁
@@CraigKoppel I've seen a sign like that before in other people's videos. It seems in some places they are really concerned that the animals will get some Gatorade or something like that. I'm not sure I've ever seen a sign like that up here in British Columbia.
Great intro! Big snake! Those dwellings were out of this world. I enjoyed the magnificent sites you encountered on your hike. Gen and you work well together showcasing your adventures. As always, your choice of music is magical! The petroglyphs were fun to look at. The view from top had to be worth the price of admission!
Thanks Danny. It was cool seeing the snake right in the beginning. This whole park was just awesome. It’s definitely underrated. It was hot, and people were cranky and tired but it was a good day.
What a great tour... That was quite a climb, but what a view. So much interesting history... I sure am glad that we only have one poisonous snake in Michigan.. Jen deserves a cold drink and a great meal.. ✌️
Mesa Verde was just awesome. Gen ate a snickers midway and then became herself again. We have timber rattlesnakes in PA but I have never seen one surprisingly. So many channels show them here but I can’t seem to find them. I’m okay with that because I’m not really looking.
Gen bravely hiked in challenging conditions at Mesa Verde, encountering a snake and admiring vultures, yucca, petroglyphs, and wild horses. Thank you for sharing❤
Mesa Verde is a very underrated park in my opinion. The cliff dwellings are the main event and rightfully so but its incredibly scenic too. When I went in 2020 some of the park was still closed and they weren't doing house tours. This is a park definitely on return list for when I go back to Colorado. I feel like I have so much more to explore here. That snake was awesome and those petroglyphs looked to be in pretty good condition. Hiking in the 90 degree heat isn't fun for anyone. Really enjoyed this.

Thank you so much for sharing this video. I’m fascinated by the cliff dwellings. It blows my mind that there were these ancient civilizations in the USA that we were never told about in school. It makes me proud to know about them. Your video was super informative about the trail by the museum. Not sure if my hubby would like that trail so now I know for sure. Kudos to Gen, she’s a trouper! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you April. I totally find these cliff dwellings and ancient civilizations fascinating too. I don’t think the trail was that hard. We had been hiking for the past four days and traveling all around Colorado. Gens body just needed rest from all of our excursions. Normally she’d be able to handle it.
The landscape out west is just so amazing. I can't wait to get back out there. The dwellings are so cool. Pretty sure Ro would not have been happy living in them had she been born all those years ago. 😂 Gen did an awesome job with the rock scrambles. She's a pro now! 👍👍
The southwest has the best scenery in the entire US in my opinion. Seeing the cliff dwellings was just awesome. I’m sure Ro could make it a cozy home. Maybe some frilly curtains and some nice hanging pictures.
That was really interesting. I appreciated you including the historical aspects about the site as well. Quite an adventurous place to hike as well. Really enjoyable. 👍
Thank you. I really enjoyed this place. The cliff dwellings and petroglyphs were just awesome. It’s not really a hard hike but Gen definitely struggled here. Too much hiking, heat, and traveling caught up to her.

Wow!! Very impressive shot of the snake at the beginning of the video. Great shots!! Thanks for the impressions, great walk, beautiful scenery around, well done for showing Mesa Verde. I've never heard of that. Yucca plant is an impressive plant. Look like splendid this Park. These 800-year-old Petroglyphs are an extraordinary example from the past. I first heard about Mesa Verde from my son, who was in America ten years ago as a student. Really amazing dwellings. It was tough hiking. I am impressed with petroglyphs, native art always interested me 👍❤️
Stunning video Craig!!! How many times we saw that settlement in movies.. wow... Thank you for having showed and shared it! Also nice hike.. in a so dry and desert climate.. congrats to you both..💪💪👏👏 What a places... 😍😍

Doing all of the uphill in the beginning is our motto for sure. It leaves us with something to look forward to. Those almost one thousand year old homes age better than homes that were built in the last couple of centuries. It must be the lack of humidity, I guess. Hiking time is done when Momma Bear is done, and Gen had the same look that Mrs. Lumberjack gets when she is over it. Beautiful scenery be damned😂. I enjoy your personalities and the lengths that you will go to show us your journey! Thank you!
Yeah, I’d prefer to get the uphill out of the way too. It’s true what they say about old homes- They don’t make em like they used to. It was definitely a tough hike for Gen. We have done harder hikes like Angels Landing but for some reason Mesa Verde was extremely difficult for her. I guess it was the heat, traveling, hiking, and not enough sleep. This hiking video seemed to do well for me with views. Maybe we should have conflicts more often.
We have been there a couple of times and the place always amazes me. There are so many interesting structures to visit. We enjoyed the Balcony House the last time we were there. Very cool. Great video! 🙂👍
I was actually there about 30 years ago but I don't remember too much from my time there. It just boggles the mind what people were able to accomplish so long ago and in those conditions. Absolutely fabulous, and what a cool trail. "Wait I didn't hit record we have to do it again"😂😂Great stuff Craig, filming ,scenery, and effort you guys put into it , awesome!
@@WALTERZOLNA thanks so much Walter. I’m glad you got to see this too even though it was a long time ago. I’m also so amazed at what could be accomplished back then with such primitive tools. She was gonna walk back and do the scene again too haha 🤣. It was still a good trip. I love this park.
Snake😵 Oh wow amazing how the anasazi built those cliff dwellings! Imagine over 100 years ago people actually lived there. Interesting hike and awesome view from the top. That is quite a hike. I commend Gen for being able to complete it. The heat only would have made it a no-go for me. I enjoyed seeing the petroglyphs. We didn't do this hike or any of the tours. Thank you. I used to not put snakes in my videos if I saw them on the trail. I thought maybe they would make people click off. But nowadays, I’ll just put them in. Seeing the cliff dwellings was definitely a site. So much history. I’m glad I got a chance to visit.
What an amazing place. The dwellings looked incredible and the petroglyphs were really nice. Gen is a good sport. Hiking in the direct sun in 90° is not fun. The views were really incredible though and hopefully worth it. Great video. I like how you included the names of the plants and wildlife.
Mesa Verde really was amazing. The cliff dwellings and petroglyphs were awesome. All the hiking, heat, and traveling caught up to Gen here. Her body just couldn’t take it anymore. It still was a great trip though.
Thanks Jim. Seeing these cliff dwellings was just awesome. Gen has four days off in a row at the end of this month so I’m trying to figure out where we will go next.
That`s some long snake. The dwellings seem so protected from the outside world. The paths seem so narrow and the drops neck breaking but i have to say really visiting worth. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you. The dwellings were very neat to see. I think any enemies would have trouble invading them back in the day. There definitely were some high cliff drop offs.
Craig, you and I have similar tastes in Epidemic music! Nice intro with the wounded snake 🐍 love the rock formations, looks like it was hot, thirsty work out there. The petroglyphs are amazing! Well done Gen on making it through! This looks like my kinda trail. The dwellings look like something from another planet
Thank you. I loved Mesa verde. I think it’s the only US national park that’s also an archeological site. There were so many more cliff dwellings than what I showed here. I bet you would like it. It was very hot. Mix the heat in with all the traveling we were doing and all the hiking, and you end up with a cranky woman.
This is a really interesting video Craig, thanks for sharing, we've never been to the USA but we plan of visiting in 2025 and your videos will help us with our research and planning, look forward to seeing more of your content, we've subscribed, thanks for sharing !
Thank you. We enjoyed our visit here and learning about the cliff dwellings. I hope you do get to visit the US next year. I like hearing what people from other countries think and have to say about it. Have a good week.
Very interesting Craig Pueblo sounds almost Aztec I wonder if they were related in some way amazing remains from so long ago I wonder how they managed to live there .. Glyn 🇬🇧
Thank you. It was really neat to see this in person. The cliff dwellings were my favorite part. I’m not sure about the Aztec thing. I couldn’t imagine living out there in that desert environment without any AC. Too hot.
Amazing scenery, and how about the wildlife and plants? It's always interesting to watch your videos of out West. They give a fantastic look. Thanks. Until next trip.
Great views , what a great video . Looks like a great place to hike and explore, any meanings to the petroglyphs ? What a magical place , thank you...👍👍
Thank you. I really liked Mesa Verde. The cliff dwellings were just amazing. The petroglyphs had something to do with the solstices from what I remember.
Wow! Mesa Verde is absolutely beautiful trail and great historical site. The only downside is that I have snake phobia 😂. Your video making skills are getting more professional nowadays. Cheer to your success!!! 😊
Thank you. Yeah, I heard a few people mention that they didn’t like the snake. Maybe next time I won’t put it in the beginning. It was neat to explore this park. I liked the cliff dwellings the best.
Cool place the petroglyphs were very interesting. But hiking and 90° is definitely not fun. You better be more careful what you say, I don’t want her to throw you off a cliff. Lol. A gopher snake with no tail was also interesting. I would not want to see a rattlesnake with no rattles.
Thank you. Mesa Verde was really neat. I did enjoy this national park. Seeing so many cliff dwellings was just awesome. Lucy, I didn’t get thrown off the cliff.
It's crazy to think that the Native Americans built those dwellings with the most primitive of tools. BTW, even if it's non-venemous, snakes scare the hell out of me. Thankfully we don't have any in Ireland, but I once encountered a massive reticulated python in the Philippines....I quickly got out of there 😂
Thank you. We really enjoyed Mesa Verde. It’s hard to believe that people could live like that so long ago without any air conditioning in the desert. Snakes scare a lot of people. Something bigger obviously got its tail. I’d assume you have some little snakes in Ireland like garter snakes? It’s funny because I see people in the UK doing this geocache thing and reaching into small spaces without looking, and I’m like nope you can’t do that in certain places here. You’re likely to pick up a snake or scorpion.
@@CraigKoppel You're very welcome! The only snakes we have in Ireland are in the Zoo and pet stores. The climate is mild enough for them to survive, but nobody has yet illegally introduced them.... it's only a matter of time.
Looks like an amazing adventure! The treehouse dwellings look so surreal! ❤🎉❤🎉

Cool snake sightings at the start.
Thank you. All the hiking definitely took a toll on Gen. The cliff dwellings were just awesome. The park is underrated for sure. Lots of beauty and history in one spot.
Chia sẽ video rất tuyệt vời ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you. I appreciate it. Have a great week.
Very interesting video
Amazing adventure
Thank you.
Pretty amazing!! I think the snake at the beginning would have been as far as some would have made it! lol Such awesome history of the Pueblo people!
Nice tour
Stay connected
Thank you. We enjoyed our visit here.
Bloody snakes 🐍 how awesome are those dwellings you see some fabulous places Craig ❤👏👏🎥👍
Thanks Jim. Seeing these cliff dwellings was just awesome. Gen has four days off in a row at the end of this month so I’m trying to figure out where we will go next.
Wow amazing adventure ❤
Thank you
Cool shots and interesting video👌
Thank you. I appreciate it. Have a great day.
Brilliant. Bravo! Have a perfect time. Be well.
Greetings! ~ Milan
Thank you. We enjoyed our visit here. Have a great week.
I almost stepped on a rattler today! Yours was bigger!Great job on the video. I've been here & enjoy it.
Thank you. You got to watch where you step. Every time I see a snake I’m almost standing on top of it. Have a great day.
Wow big snake enjoy your adventure and keep safe always
Thank you. I appreciate it. Have a great day.
Very nice. Excellent. I like it very much.
Happiness and Joy to you. Greetings. ~ Milan
Thank you. I appreciate it. Have a great week.
Wow,that was an awesome hike! Gorgeous view from up top. I just subbed and will be a regular follower.Nicely done!
@@JimHayesHiking thank you Jim. I appreciate it. Now that I checked your channel out I’ll be watching too. Have a great week.
Thanks John. I really liked this park. The cliff dwellings were my favorite part.
That was scary…been to that place last year but we did not encounter that although they informed as what to expect.
Thank you. I really liked Mesa verde. The cliff dwellings were awesome. And it was cool seeing the snake in the beginning.
@@CraigKoppel I totally with you the cliffs dwellings was amazing. Hahahaha! You can save the snake for last 🤣
Witam przyjacielu super film pozdrawiam z Polski miłego dnia życzę
Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Have a great day.
I enjoyed your video. Nice perspective
Thank you. I really enjoyed visiting here. The cliff dwellings were my favorite part, and the petroglyphs were cool too. Have a great day.
Ooh wow../❤❤
Thank you.
That was fantastic..those cliff dwellings looked amazing..i have to admit "i didnt like the snake though"
Thank you. I thought the cliff dwellings were amazing too. A few people said the snake bothered them . I get it. 😁
Woah a snake I don't want to get close 😂 amazing hiking!
Thank you. Yeah we saw the snake right at the start of the hike.

Thank you
Cool place the petroglyphs were very interesting.
I hiked 14 miles in Lake placid, and the next day, I went another 10 straight up hill my knees didn't appreciate it for a while
I was fine on this hike but it all took a toll on Gen.
Need a room full of rocking chairs to keep the snakes away 😅
The snake didn’t bother us.
Hello friend nice video friend great i super like videos friend wow nice vlog video friend 💕💗❤️💖♥️💞👍👍👍
Thank you. I appreciate it. Have a great day.
Amazing place, but I don't need to meet the snakes....lol
Thank you. A few people mentioned that about the snake in the beginning.
That's amazing cave dwellings
These cliff dwellings were just awesome
