    Hey there. I live in Fort Worth and am involved with Sister Cities (cultural exchange programs). My daughter went abroad last year and had a blast. Now its our turn to volunteer to hose. I'd love to but my biggest worry is them having enough fun.
    Before now, I have been a homebody. My own life is embarrassingly boring. My teen daughter complains that we never do anything and its true. So...What are some good ideas that are age appropriate and fun but also won't break the bank?
    I can only think of a few ideas: mall? zoo? museum? movies? I have no idea what other people think are fun(my daughter usually just hangs out over her friend's house).
    Sister Cities hosts adults and high school students. Chances are, we will be paired with a teenager/high schooler.
    Can you make a follow-up video talking about some of the outings you have shared with your international visitors. Please, and thank you.

      We have hosted 5x in the DFW area (we are in Frisco). Each time has been great! We have found that having the students with us motivates us to get out and do things. We are normally homebodies and boring but having a teenager in the house who wants to explore gets us to go out and do much more than we ordinarily would and it has been great for us as well.

    What if you have a connection with a potential exchange student? I'm in a worldwide ministry and the father of one of our members would like his daughter to take advantage of the opportunity?

      We call this a direct placement when an exchange student knows a family in the United States who is willing to host them. Our program helps connect the student to make sure they get all of the correct paperwork and their visa. I would be happy to answer any questions and help with this process. Please feel free to send me an email: lauren@iseusa.org

    Can I host a family member from México?

    • @laurenerndteman9530
      @laurenerndteman9530 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Our program does not allow families to host a family member but our program does have students from Mexico every once in a while.

    Why does the parents of the host family need to be 25 years old to 80 years old?

    • @laurenerndteman9530
      @laurenerndteman9530 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Host family parents need to be atleast 25 years old because it is a department of state rule so that they are not too close to the student age. As far as the 80 years old, this is just a recommendation, you can host after the age of 80 but need to be in good health in order to take care of a child.
