Will this work for a TS mic to a TRRS phone? I have a Cable Creation brand adapter like your SC-4 that does NOT work. It is more robust than the Rode you showed. I do use Open Camera, as you seem to be, and have selected "external mic if connected" in the audio settings.

The problem you have is that you're using your laptop's only 3.5mm headphone jack. You need an adapter that allows you to use a mic and headphones. An audio interface would be a better solution.

Is there something special about this adapter that allows it to do that instead of using a simple double-ended 3.5 headphone plug? This adapter isn't for RCA cables. Perhaps you're using an RCA cable in another port. I'm not sure how you have things setup, but I don't believe this cable is causing the latency issue.
hi If I connect a line out stereo trs jack to this adapter, it will only pickup left channel, right? What can I do to make the mic pick up both channels?
I'm really sorry Chris. The TH-cam app on my mobile didn't show what video you were referring to. I assumed you were referring to my latest video about the GoPro Hero 6. I can say, however, that this adapter works flawlessly. I use it for my Shure VP83 when recording via my mobile phone. Sorry for the mix up.
+Jolly R0ger I'm not sure what mic you are using with your iPhone 6. I was under the assumption that iPhones only use TRRS, but I don't have one myself so cannot verify.

I don't know the exact mix you have, but my guess is that the fifine wireless mic doesn't use trrs. Trrs is used more on smartphones. I may be wrong though. If it uses trrs, this will do the job. 👍
Hi, got a question about the SC4 I recently bought it and plugged it into my Huawei Mate 9. Now if I want to livestream/record from my smartphone I get an alert where it says that I need to press the button on my Headset to record audio from it. (I got a dj mixer connected). Does anyone have an idea how to solve this? Thank you guys!
I doubt this has anything to do with the SC4 as thy just let's signals pass through. It's probably your phone or the dj mixer. Hard to say without being there in person as I've never seen that message.
SC4 cable can be easily made at home at much lesser cost with some shielded stereo wire, a stereo headphone Socket and a TRRS Plug. If you know the connections and know the soldering...!!! What do you say brother..???

You'd have to run an audio out cable from the H6.

@@ZurelyVdoz You can use your boya mic with the Canon M50 using that adapter. That's probably the best solution I. The short-term.
The echo is less noticeable with the Røde but the phone mic seems to capture a more robust sound...

The purple mic may use TRRS (smartphone connection) whilst your recorder will use TRS. You will need a converter to use it.

It's not something I've tried, but it should work.

No that won't work. Your laptop 3.5mm port is just an input. You would need to record things separately and then edit them together.
Does this work if you plug the adapter into a reciever connecting to a smart phone, for a wireless microphone ?? Will it pick up the audio ??

I've never had any problems with latency with this cable. My guess is that it's stemming from an audio interface.

Whether mono or stereo is recorded will depend on the recording device.
Can you test outside of ur house ? I want to know the quality outside

I don't know what camera you are using or what mic you are using. Your camera is provably trs so this will change it to a trrs connection.

Why don't mics come built with a TRRS? I'm baffled....!
There really isn't a need it for it in most situations. For example, a camera mic port doesn't need a TRRS connection. TRS is sufficient.
It doesn't work with zoom h1n. Im using lavalier Rode mic.
Because this does TRS to TRRS.
You need a TRRS to TRS. The SC3 does this.
