Excellent clear and brief video. BMW quoted me £127 UK sterling for supply & fitting of a new belt. But £24 for my new double-sided fan belt (2008 BMW 320D, N47 engine) and this video saved me over £100. Thank you!!
Thanks for posting up this video mate! It was a great help to me when I recently changed my tensioner pulley and belt. Exact same engine layout as yours!
My engine looks the same but has not got the 16 bit nut there, it has a torx bolt between the two pulleys, also the tentioner has a 16 bolt in the middle. I have a 320d 2008 lci
Excellent video, did you ever get any noise from belt or tensioner or pulley when driving I have a really bad noise when driving and in low revs and braking not sitting still though wrecking my head trying to finite it out
Mart In if it was the wrong sized belt, a cheap belt or if there was failure from a pulley or the tensioner it will slip off. Buy OEM belts and if you are giving it to someone to do ask to see the new belt on the engine and ask for the old one back. If they are replacing the tensioner then be sure you trust the mechanic. It's not hard to fuck up but then there are a lot of cowboys out there too 👍
Sorry I am in Melbourne. I am sure you can do it. All you need is a torx screw driver and a 16mm socket and of course a new belt. pm me if u get stuck.
easy to chance on a n47 320d. the m47n2 engine from 2005-08 320d takes a little more time because you have to take the A-C compressor pulley of before you can get to the V-belt/serpentine-belt.. it can be a little tricky but still something you can change by yourself
the engine on the video is a n47. so i guess it should be the same as that one.. my 320d was a m47. and on my m47 there was a plastic pulley in the way of the serpentine belt.. it can get stuck on the metal shaft holding the plastic pulley.. and plastic stuck on metal can be a little tricky because the plastic is easy to brake.
Hello, How can I send you a picture for a question related to this video? It is difficult to describe that is why will be much easier if I can ask you a picture :). Thanks in advance.

What is the spiny thing with small oragen circle am sure its making a hell of a noise any advice what to do
Hey man, you think would be the same method to replace it on a 335 2007?
hi does it matter if u don’t put a pin in?
Super video man
Is that a single side groove Belt? Why would someone install a double side groove Belt?
Anyone know the belt size ?
Can you tell me how i can do it on my 2008 328
I just had mine replaced on my 330d less than 5 months ago and its come off. Is that a common thing or did they not replace it properly ?
