Hey everyone! Just to clarify, the app isn't out *yet* but should be mid-January. We'll let everyone know once it's released! Super excited 💪💪 Happy New Years! 🎉 -Hudson & Brandon
I’ve been on the BUFF Dudes fitness journey since 2015 💪🏽 10 years later, I’m still watching and learning. Thank you for all the knowledge and wisdom you guys and your family have imparted over the years 🙏🏻 Here’s to another 10 years! 🎉 - YATS FFUB
Cool. I actually wouldnt be able to drop some duckets on it for another couple weeks anyway. The good ole end of week. I dont know if you guys will see this but I got a quick question. I plan to switch up my routine in something like 3 months chunks. Working for mass then going to strength and flexibility. Is there a way I could get this to differentiate between the two? As in maybe designate my own routine categories or something of that nature?
Go Aga! I really appreciate you sharing your experience with this, especially after pregnancy and childbirth. It is so encouraging to see the way that your body has recovered. You're an inspiration.
I've been doing 6 sets of vacuums 10-15 seconds daily for 8 years. I follow the John Meadows methods. Started at 38, 46 now. Over the years it has "pulled" my whole midsection in and helped during competitions. Like anything in bodybuilding it's all about consistency over time that yields results. I'll do them as long as I can.
@ best time to do vacuums is on an empty stomach. I do them after my morning walk or after training. Mornings are best for me. Look up John Meadows vacuums. There's a TH-cam video
Good point made about the Hernia/mesh situation. I had this surgery done about 10 years ago and it still hinders me. You really have to be allot more carefull when working out. Sometimes i can feel the scar tissue tearing around the mesh area and it can still be painfull after i do so. I find it so weird that doctors seem to laugh it off but it has completely changed the way i work out now. Ab crunches are a no-no for example. Core strengthening is where its at honestly. Also have to keep in mind that this mesh comes with an "expiration date" since the material does tend to break(much earlier when being physically active). Doctor told me 10-15 years depending on your lifestyle. Thanks for adressing this by the way. Its not something to take lightly in my opinion. Stay healthy!
I think the idea of learning the stomach vacuum pose is that it makes your waist smaller WHILE YOU DO IT. Kind of like posing with your biceps flexed makes your biceps look bigger while you have your biceps flexed. It's a pose that looks cool.
Now we will se everybody looking like Frank Zane and Tony Pearson in the years to come.... Maybe this will be the renaissance of the competing bodybuilding! A mandatory Vacuum pose! If you cant do it you get booted out of the competition!
and if your abs look like garbage without a vacuum, you should get booted out of the competition as well. also, if you have looked at bodybuilding in the past 4 years, most of them are doing vacuums now. so it's not like big guys can't do them...
Happy 2025 BUFF Dudes and Dudettes! Definitely going to make this part of my routine, I can imagine this helps with learning how to properly brace your core. Can’t wait for the app to drop, great video as always!
Since the transverse abdominis is just another skeletal muscle, it is odd that strength training it has not just been considered another exercise to be programmed into your lifting session, like lateral raises or crunches. Instead people think of it as posing practice or something similarly separate. I don't know why.
After YEARS of trying all of the crazy ab exercises I could find, vacuums actually made the most difference for me. I do them on the car ride home from work every day and I’m 42 with well defined abs. Still mostly about the proper diet though.
Yes! FINALLY! The buff app! This is awesome guys! Happy new years fellas🎉 and thanks for keeping me a happy, motivated, strong, healthy dad!💪🏼🙏🏼 6ft3 225lbs 12% fat thanks to you guys!💪🏼🙏🏼 Edit: Will the app not be available in Denmark, or is it just not out quite yet?🤞🏼
I'm the furthest thing from the fitness guys you are, but I did come across stomach vacuums wayyy back when. I just kind of got into a habit of performing the as and when I think about it, particularly while I'm out walking or something - obviously not quite to the same intensity as you guys. I haven't done serious a sessions for years, but I'm fairly confident this approach has just kept my core in check. Nice to see it incorporated in your app too - I will be downloading and looking into it a bit more. I dont think it's a secret sauce to get skinny like you guys said, but I definitely think regular practice of stomach vacuums keep the pot belly away, particularly if you're a desk worker like me
I moved to Colorado and we have plenty of cold water up here this time of year. I started tensing up my abs like I am doing planks but standing while doing my morning cold showers and that has shown major improvement in my ab strengths and some definition since I never work out abs specifically any more.
FYI: You can breathe while holding the stomach vacuum, and you should. Thoracic and clavicular breathing. Also, you should also pull from the sides or obliques, as well as the lower abdomen pubic area and not just from the belly button.
I hadn’t done these regularly until I began the Classic Physique plan in the Buff app. I now feel this exercise offers way more benefits than at first glance!
Just wondering if there's other health benefits to this ? like squeezing digestive system/urinal system etc may remove stuck waste products ? We may never know but really enjoyed this one.
Yes! There is. Ive heard it helps stabilize your entire spinal cord, works as a base to hold your outter ab muscles (the ones u see) in place, helps hold internal organs in proper place, and helps prevents back injuries.
Hey guys! thanks for doing this one! What a change from the usual chest and biceps videos everyone else puts out. The Yogi's who do this for years can make their waists literally like 18" during the vacuum, It's crazy. This is the #1 exercise I program for women for abs, #2 is plank variations. It's really nice for your back too, whereas crunches fuck your spine and discs. Aga as usual underestimates herself. This is a way to tone and strengthen your waist without getting turtle shell abs. 14:20 You suck Hudson!
i do stomach vaccum daily with my morning mobility exercise. 3x10s but holding my breath after full exhale each time. i do not, as you say, "breathe behind the vaccum" and i don't try to extend the time. i also clench my glutes when doing it. the goal is to strengthen the muscles of the abdomen and groin area to prevent a hernia.
I am 38 years old and almost 6'1 tall, and I currently have a waist measurement of around 40'. Kind of irritating, but thankfully I don't actually "look overweight"; my general physical build is pretty nice, I just have that dumb extra belly fat that is a little bit distracting.
It's not a nutrition app so it doesn't have food logbook options. It's strictly for following workout plans and loggin them in, follow your progress etc :) Thanks for the following and hope you'll enjoy it!!

@buffdudes It's going great. Thanks for asking and how nice that you responded. I have had a lot of motivation from your channel. Thanks for that. And we are expecting our second child! 2025 will be fantastic. All the best to you too!
Good channel! Guys why would this reduce the waist size? Reducing body fat will do the job. It would be great if we could choose where to burn the fat and where to keep it 😅, but we can't.
Just for fun, do.stomach vacuums while doing cardio. You'll watch your heart rate climb and fall 10 bpm or more as you flex and relax, lol. It keeps me entertained.

Seeing y'all going strong for this long is a joy. Here's to two of the OG's of TH-cam fitness!
I start follow them when they have 60k followers 10 years ago, one of the best and funniest channel...
I think I was around the same time when they were in a garage, funny and great fitness advice, much love from New Zealand
Go Aga! I really appreciate you sharing your experience with this, especially after pregnancy and childbirth. It is so encouraging to see the way that your body has recovered. You're an inspiration.
Aw thank you so much!
Aga, you're incredible. Got kids. Had hernias. Diastasis recti repair. Wow! Well done.
Thank you 🥰

@ best time to do vacuums is on an empty stomach. I do them after my morning walk or after training. Mornings are best for me. Look up John Meadows vacuums. There's a TH-cam video
I remember that same John Meadows video, and ever since then I have been doing these. I like the ab control that comes with doing these.
Probably some of the most relatable fitness content on TH-cam. Keep it up folks!
Thanks Anthony!
Whenever I came across this exercise I never really understood the benefits of it. Aga’s perspective helped me as to why someone should program it.
I always love seeing the humor and energy you guys always put into your videos.

09:37 Really easy to get distracted. But that's a mad tricep horseshoe right there! Oh, yeah! 💪🏼
Great fun, all of you. All the best for 2025.
I love Aga's accent too... 😊
Seems like something you can do while at work in the office as a little midday challenge

It's very good for bracing for heavy lifts. All powerlifters & olympic weightlifters should do it

3 08...... Chest breathing is really important for holding a vacuum, and it's counter-intuitive to healthy breathing.
Use to do stomach vacuums daily but now I have a hernia and abs have gone out the window, happy new years 🥳🥳
I just stopped doing vacuums because of this message 😂

Good channel! Guys why would this reduce the waist size? Reducing body fat will do the job. It would be great if we could choose where to burn the fat and where to keep it 😅, but we can't.
Generally it doesn't unless you have weak and loose transverse abdominis then it can tighten it like a corset and reduce waist size.
