@@nefarious67 True, the one thing that was wrong with his rendition of Tyrion was, that he was supposed to be pretty ugly according to the books and Peter Dinklage is actually quite good looking. He was stellar though, would not trade.

DAMN, Peter Dinklage is a beast of an actor. Having seen most of his work over the last decade, I honestly think he's one of the top 5 actors today, as far as overall talent. He can do just about any accent to perfection.

He is such an incredibly talented actor!! I recently learned that his brother is the principal violinist for Hamilton! (he’s been with the show from the very beginning ... back when it was playing at the Public Theater in New York before they even knew whether it would go to Broadway or not)
Can you imagine how proud their parents must be? Their two kids are a major part of two of the biggest cultural phenomenon of our time!!

I think this was the first time that I saw Stephen get uncomfortable. The tables have truly turned during this interview. I liked it. He needs to invite Peter Dinklage on the show more often. Obviously, now that he knows that he's a LotR's fan. He will.

I think his "eyeing the exit" strategy is just anticipation of the inevitable question about his acting roles and living today as a little person. He's like, oh great, here we go again. I think as a society, we've matured in that we can see him as a man and not someone who obviously had no control over the DNA he was given at birth.
Yeah they really shouldn’t be asking ANY questions about being a little person. Don’t they know Peter is just a normal dude who’s really good at acting?
@Robert Meyman Yes they do, but I think that's one more reason to talk about his stature. Because he is an accomplished, remarkable man both in spite *and* because of it. And come on, the man must have a sense of humor about it, or he wouldn't have taken that part in Infinity War.

I’ll never forget GoT’s 1st season. So much dialogue was word for word from the book. It was fantastic, & yes! Dont think anyone else could have playd Tyrion, right from the first moment he was on screen.

I got to have drinks with John Howe once when I was in University. He did a TV interview in Toronto, and took some of the students from the studio audience out for beers after. He was a lovely man!

I love and respect Peter Dinklage on ALL levels - he is truly an AMAZING Actor!!! I look forward to much more from him!!
Man - I know everyone wants to get ANY scoop they can on the last season of GoT, but Dinklage has had to talk about it in every interview he's done for this movie, a project he spent 14 years trying to get made and his friend the director spent 25 years on. It's a shame they only talked about it for a few minutes.

They showed a clip though and it looks fantastic. Stephen likes to shoot the shit with guests but he stays mindful of both why the guest is there and the most audience-engaging things he could talk about.
These two seemed like they were having such genuine fun during this interview, I could watch this all day.
Peter dinklage has always had some of best scenes and dialogue in game of thrones. One of my top 5 characters in the show
For those who have never seen The Station Agent, you must treat yourself! Peter Dinklage, Patricia Clarkson, and Michelle Williams, are wonderful! And the relationship between Dinklage and Bobby Canavele is fantastic. The film has much more nuance then I anticipated it would have, and every time I watch it, I'm always delighted!

Well, Colbert kind of triggered the wall when he asked if people would shout "The plane!" at Peter as a child. I don't think he expected that question. Shoot, I didn't expect it, either.
Yeah..... it was not what I would call a good early-conversation question... but I guess it was connected with the film, so uh... awkwardness was going to come up somehow? ^_^;;; Still don't at all blame him for being a bit low-key spiky after that.
I think he was standoffish from the start. I think after he asked that question, he started to slowly open up. Colbert treated him like a person who is honest, who has integrity and who has something to say that we can all learn from. Peter resists being that person often, but Colbert saw inside of him and tried to draw it out of him. See at one point how Peter called it a therapy session? Colbert was treating him with the highest respect

I have seen him many times here in NYC a block from by my apartment. He is always wearing a hoodie with shades and he seems to always be with his family and his big black dog. He is very hard to miss.Everyone in our neighborhood says he is very quiet, keeps to himself. Family man. I nodded hello to him once,He nodded hello back. And no,I will not tell you where he lives. Not cool.

Peter Dinklage is pound for pound the best actor ever.
Not sure about that, there are other short fantastic actors, but he's definitely among the best by pound.

@@gurpreetsingh793 What do you mean? diverging from the source material does not diminish the quality of an adaptation, take "The Godfather" or "Starship Troopers" for example, both diverge from the books a lot but they are perfect adaptations (in the case of Starship Trooper I must clarify that I'm talking about the one directed by Paul Verhoeven and not the other cash grabs) on the other hand you have awful adaptations like "Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy" which is a sloppy marathon of references that alienates the people who didn't read the books and annoys people who did even though they strayed as far from the original content as the other two mentioned, that is why they are called Tv or movie adaptations and not versions.
@@eleSDSU I think you're looking at "perfect" as an antonym of "terrible" and not as an antonym of "inaccurate." You can have a good show that's an imperfect adaptation.
@@IcyDragonPolaris No, I'm using "perfect" as an hyperbole of "great", and yes you can have a good adaptation that diverges a little or a lot from the source material if that is what you mean by "imperfect adaptation" but, accuracy is irrelevant since it's not a TV version of the book, it's an adaptation of the book, it doesn't have to be the same story, the point of adapting is to be better suited for something, in this case 8 seasons of 10 episodes (aprox.) with 1 hour run-time each, TV and book formats stories are not always 100% compatible, hence the need for adaptation.
