The irony in the student who gave himself the lowest ethical score having the most ethics because he was honest, meanwhile the professor singles him out, tells him he should’ve lied, and none of the other “ethical” students calls him out on it.

    • @rumiDVD
      @rumiDVD 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +377

That is the lesson. This "ethic" is not important to you, it's important to other people. You can always be accepted by society as long as you appear "ethical". Because everybody wants someone that they like, someone that is acceptable, someone that is ethical. You can be honest, polite, kind, as holy as a saint but in reality, *_nobody_* gives a shit about you.

@@stevendouglas3781tbh I’d consider 36/100 reasonably high if it’s accurate. Most people are probably in the 10-30 range in reality and like the prof just lie about it or simply don’t have the power/money/influence etc. To do the things they really want and get away with it. Notice how almost every person that ever becomes powerful or wealthy usually turns into a POS, that’s because they were always that way and only now have the ability to be their actual selves without consequences.

I've known and seen too many people have to move back in after a year or so because it was too expensive even in the worst neighborhoods to make it on their own or their parents had health problems that required them to come back anyway.

Tbf, I'd be long-dead by now if my parents had kicked me out when I'd just turned 18. Mental health issues up the wazoo, needed close to a decade to sort my own ish out. Now that I'm getting back on my feet, housing market is still a racket run by price-fixing landlord cartels (no, seriously, look it up, stuff's freakin' wild...) And while I'm working on projects that'll eventually make me some bank, and move out on my own to a place more suited to my projects, I'm definitely gonna give back when I can, see if I can help 'em. with their mortgage. I owe 'em that much at least. That's how it should be, I think.

    • @alanlight7740

Seriously, it was only after World War II when millions of American soldiers returned to the U.S. that we came up with this idea that children _should_ move out when they turned 18 - and it's a rather stupid custom that wastes resources.
Before that children might move out at any age if they had a reason like marriage or a job. For example, Admiral David Farragut began his career in the U.S. Navy when he was 9½. But it wasn't _expected._
Even when a child did move out, especially if it was due to them getting married, the family would often build them a house next door.

That said, the doctor that saved my life I would consider my grandpa / uncle. Love you Doctor Uncle Mister Grayson. ( Parents were old fashioned and respectful. Doctors deserve to be called doctors. Etc. I accidentally called him Mister one day. He doesn't correct me, so Mom does. Grayson gently stops her and goes " If I'm mister to my little nephew, I'm mister. " and I caught on to him calling me nephew, so I started calling him a combination of " Mister Doctor Uncle. " )

Grandma helped me lose 31.5 kg's and build up my physique for the past year by living with me (though she's tried every now and then to make me stop working out, because she's afraid I'm overdoing it and doesn't want me to look 'monstrous', kek). She does most of the housework, pays pretty much all the bills, and insists on giving me pocket money (I'm 38, lol, but she's very persistent when it comes to such things), leaving me with a lot of time and money on my hands. Said benefits have translated into massive gains that have helped me immensely in getting over losing my 6.5 year fiancee last year and this year's shaping up to be one of the best.
Living with supportive family is great. Would recommend.
Honestly, the only two downsides are that we sometimes get on each other's nerves (because family) and that she's 84, meaning that I'm liable to lose her at any point and I'm not sure how I'll cope when the day inevitably arrives, but I'm very grateful for having her in my life; she's a little ol' angel.

The one about saying you're at least 75 on a scale of 1-100 ethical is true. Companies will send surveys all the time asking you to be honest truly they will say, but they don't want your opinion, they want to hear they are doing good and want a virtual pat on the back. If you refuse to give them that, then you may not have a job.

I once had a decades old filling machine with ZERO digital elements throw a tantrum because it was being retired. Two segments that operate in alignment and have no simple way to get out of alignment somehow ended up in reverse to each other - keep in mind that this is a MECHANICAL rotational alignment, not something that can simply reset on its own.
After puzzling on it for a couple of hours, I shut off the machine to check a few things...turned it back on, and it was totally back to normal! No idea how it happened or how it "fixed", and nothing like that had ever happened before.
It was a really good and reliable machine, outdated in terms of speed and flexibility but otherwise zero complaints. Heck, even when it did throw that tantrum it only wanted to be heard, but didn't drag it on so long as to keep the job from getting done.
Postscript: rather than junk the machine (it was a real legacy piece) we had the space to retire it to its own display corner as a bit of company history. Take note other machines, play your cards right and you can earn respect!

@@wdstranger3775 I had HP computers that did exactly that. It seems that reinstalling the os and/or getting an ssd is a fix. Doesn't happen that severly on other Windows versions. Windows 10 slowed down to the point the text cursor lagged, didn't witness that on other versions, but saw it on 10 twice. I'm a Windows user though.

only the thumbnail one is kind of dumb. like what relationship did you even have if you don't care when it ends. seems like an immature way to deal with it, like anon copes by not letting himself bond in the first place. if you break up with someone and she responds with complete lack of care, that's honestly a bullet You dodged imo. you don't want to have a relationship with someone who couldn't care less if the relationship ends. whatever that is, is not built on mutual care, they're just there as long as they're getting something out of you

Well, usually, a breakup in the real world isn't out of the blue. There are signs your partner is getting more distant, or they drop a "we need to talk" message at some point.
Sometimes, the feeling is just mutual.

@@phae_c he didn't said he didn't cared for relationship. He just didn't include his thoughts about this bc it's would be probably laughed on 4chan bc of people like you.
Why you judge him if the problem is in her? He let her free because he knew that the relationship wouldn't last because of her mindset and it would hurt them both. And you can't call that dodge the bullet bc in the end he got framed on internet

My sister's a legit psychopath. Lying. Stealing. Sexual promiscuity. Tortured small animals. Stole my truck in secret, wrecked it, put it back, blamed it on me. Carries petty lifelong grudges. The works. I warned my parents over and over for years and they blew me off.
Only now, in our f%cking 40s, after she's been divorced, screwed up her kid, and burned every bridge with every family member, do they think that maybe I was right.

@@charlesatwood9709 He can only work that many hours because if he works more than that, he loses a government benefit which costs considerably more than the take home pay of the 15 additional hours. You can complain that the gov structured the incentives that way, but working 26 hours is much worse than working 24 hours from that anon's perspective. If anon has a pre-existing health condition (even something pedestrian like asthma), there is probably no realistic number of hours he could work that would result in a better outcome than him working 25 hours at 15/hr.
