Standing vertical jump is completely different. Watch the CR7 documentary. When he runs and jumps, he jumps higher than 99.9% of all people, while his standing vertical jump is just about average.

It's the adrenaline. The guy is just having a great time and in the zone. When you get to that place where you just hit perfect timing every time, gather, jump and dunk wise... It feels like you could go on effortlessly forever.
Although in reality, after a handful of dunks like that in such a short time period, you start pushing your luck. The sheer intensity needed to jump like that time after time really starts to wear down your legs after a while even if the adrenaline hasn't worn off yet. That's when young athletes seemingly in their prime tear up their ACLs, blow out their knees...
