I don't think $1,000 is that bad either, for the age. If that price is for the bottle, that's probably $70-$100 per full shot glass. That's pricey, but not insanely so, for the experience of drinking history.

@Asteri En To me its how Steven explained it. It's something so beautiful that took so long to make, so long so that the person who made it would never know what it tasted like. The fact that he couldnt pull the words to describe it yet wanted to showed how worth it it was.
Also its important to keep in mind that he drinks incredibly infrequently. So for him drinking isnt about getting drunk its about the experience and joy of the moment. He made the same argument for 10 pound and I absolutely agreed there too in their cocktail episode.

bruh the oldest "vintage" I've ever had was 2013.
I get to taste older than 2010 (most often 2001/04) almost every week :) working as a waiter in a restaurant with lots of older wines, everytime I sell a bottle to a guest, I taste it myself before serving. Its an ok job ;)
Out of all the worth it's the expensive one is actually worth it. 100 year old thing that took time to craft that isn't expensive bc it's covered in gold or truffle
Thats totally subjective though, things aren't inherently better because they take more time to be made. At the end of the day it's just business, gotta convince people that you're offering them a better value so you can in turn get something from them.

As a matter of fact, if you get a 20 bucks vodka, a 50 bucks rum and a 100 dollars whiskey (although the prices can be shifted, this is just for an example), you CAN say which one was the most worth for the price.
Is fortified like a port wine? I recall from a tour I had in Portugal that the process was similar to what I'm seeing here.
