Hello, I am your target audience. I have no clue, but I love the concept. Hook me up with the knowledge, please!
I appreciate you watching and wanting to learn more. More knowledge coming soon!
@@The_Comms_Channel these videos are awesome
@@whatamievendoing Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying them!
I know this video is 7 months old, however I am just learning what meshtastic is. Awesome video and subscribed
Thanks for the sub!
I'm looking forward to the series - keep it up.
Good to hear! More coming soon.
I learned about Meshtastic today. I’m also a complete newb to this concept. Thanks for making this!
Sure thing! I'm glad the videos are helpful!
Thanks for sharing great information! We look forward to seeing the next video in the series.
Sure thing! I appreciate you all and I'm glad you're looking forward to the series!
It would be nice if any flash would talk to all on network
Great stuff! Looking forward to this series.
Thanks! Glad you're looking forward to it!
Awesome can't wait. Just now learning. Thank you.
Sure thing!
this is awesome! looking forward to learning more
Thanks! Glad you're looking forward to the series!
Greatly appreciated!
Sure thing!
Interesting concept. Ive never heard of this system before. Sounds like it could be a good addition to my comms setup.
I just made a video about T-Deck. I'm loving it! Meshtastic is amazing.
Great series, Looking forward to it. Really would like to see the process for flashing the devices. Thanks !
Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying the series. I'll be sure to cover the device flashing.
@@The_Comms_Channel Thanks man!
Great intro to Meshtastic hw and sw.
Thanks!
FYI, while 433 MHz can be used in Europe, it's a noisy band (keyfobs, cheap walkie talkies - basically all older wireless tech runs on this).
868 MHz is also license free here and is much more stable/less prone to interference.
Great videos… even better that Cartman’s brother is narrating them 😂👌🏼
We here in Germany prefer to use 989 MHz instead of 433 MHz because everyday things like remote controls and weather stations are on this frequency.
More getting started videos please
Thanks
Sure thing!
Thank you for the videos on this topic. If you could please review the admin channel setup. I thought I had it sorted out, but I guess not.
Sure thing! Good idea, I'll be sure to cover that.
Any help with compatible burst-mode encryption over MTastic would be a cool episode.
Will definitely go into encryption. I've not found much info on burst-mode though if you can give me more info on what you're trying to do.
I want to set up a Meshtastic Node on my Ham tower at FN42. The antenna would be about 30' up above ground, which is 90' above sea level.
But, I have a 915 Mhz Yolink system installed. Every sensor and Hub on is 915 LoRa.
Most of the Yolink LoRa devices are use batteries (sensors etc) and are always on.
Can the Meshtastic Node work with strong Yolink Lora on site?
I can hear the loud (and weak) signals popping on 915 (SSB & AM) about every 2 seconds.
Thanks to your help, I now have a Heltec V3 (ver. 3.1) on the air. I'm located in east bay San Francisco. After 3 days, I see 5 nodes, all reporting strong signals. I've attempted to message them, my iPhone Mestastic app says, "waiting to be acknowledged", then, after a few seconds/minutes, it says, "Max Retransmission Reached". Is this typical, or could I have a possible problem with my settings? 73 Bob
868 Mhz is used in Europe
Ah, good catch. I'll be sure to add a correction in my next video. Thanks!
@@The_Comms_Channel thank you for making great videos ;)
@@zrcalni_neuron Sure thing! Thanks for watching!
I connected my ESP32 Device using the serial port and data cable. I flashed it and created the settings mentioned. After setting the device to Bluetooth ON, I installed the 2.2.19 App to my android phone. Why is it asking for the IP Address and not searching for Bluetooth devices? Are my settings not correct?
looking forward to the series and possible how to connected with a raspberry py where I would like to run some applications that use Meshtastic off grid
I'm glad you're looking forward to the series! That's actually a use-case I'm exploring myself and will cover this after I do some testing.
@@The_Comms_Channel great cause I have a real hard time finding how to configure those T-Beam drivers on a recent kernel :)
Can you still legally use this meshnetwork if you have an amateur radio license?
Thanks for taking time. Just getting started. I have a tbeam and a rak based device running latest firmware on both. Both running as client. Why would there be long (15 - 30 min) delay when sending message from one to the other? One is an iPhone and the other android running Meshtastic app. I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to ask. Will keep following your videos
Sure thing! Hmmm.. that is quite a delay. How far apart are the devices from each other?
They’re within 20 feet or so. I can see the message get to the Tbeam display right away but then delayed to reach phone via Bluetooth
Does this happen on both Android and iPhone?
It is on the iPhone app
@@carlosbruno4142 Hmmm, not sure what the cause could be and I'm not familiar with the iPhone app. I would try using the device that is currently connected to the Android phone with the iPhone and connect the other one to the Android. This would help narrow down the cause. It may be worth asking on the Meshtastic Discourse meshtastic.discourse.group/ or their Discord discord.com/invite/ktMAKGBnBs
I'm using the Heltec V3 Devices with the case (Qty 2). Please do a video that tells how to setup the Android Bluetooth after the flash. The Flash was done from the computer with a cable (serial/web client). I'm in the U.S.A. While in Serial/Web Client, what settings are required to insure I get a good response on Meshtastic for Android (Bluetooth). I downloaded the Meshtastic App 2.2.19 to my Android and it's asking for an IP Address. I'm stuck there. I've already attached the 18650 Battery to my two devices and they are both on Meshtastic Version 2.2.19. While attached to the computer (Serial/Web Client) I sent out 'Hello!' and received it on the other device that was on the 18650 battery. I still don't know how that happened and I'm not sure about the settings. Is there a video on this already?
Is there a website to where you can find people locally on a Meshtastic? Like in city/state/county areas?
