You can build Rock n Roll without researching Music? Go figure
Hey man! Big fan from across the Tasman. Appreciate your in-depth explanations and methodology.
Your voice is also perfect as a sort of ASMR for nights when I can’t sleep.
Thank you, appreciate it :)
Let's just think about this a minute. Gilgamesh's troops were basically a bunch early 1800s troops that were sent up against metal machines on land, on the ocean and in the sky. Those troops likely needed 2 changes of pants. 😂 What is the quote? "We who are about to die . . . "
Funny thing is Cavalry are normally like 1400 AD units on immortal
You infected me with the 'good ol' mindin' doe.'
Also ,I thought about the advice you gave me and the deity thing, and well my early game is pretty solid now. Until I bite off more than I can chew with wars. I just build too few units.
seems you've identified the flaw in your plans, which is a good sign :D
@@diazinth Thanks, I'll try overproducing next time. Eventually I'll find the sweet spot. Probably.
It would be great if an airship could be ordered to do the same recon mission every turn 🔭
Hey Henrik, big fan here, I've been watching you for a while and you've really helped me improve at the game. I was just wondering, do you happen to play viewer submitted maps at all? I just got brutalized on an Immortal map, and I would be interested to see how you would've played it. A brief synopsis of what happened is that I spawned semi-isolated, and by the time I met the other continent (standard size, all 5 of the other people were on that continent), Justinian had already vassaled 2 of the other civs, then a few turns later vassaled a third, and was at war with the last guy and about to vassal him too when I threw in the towel. Meanwhile I was stuck in a war with caveman Charlemagne who backstabbed me at Pleased, which caught me completely off guard since I didn't think he plotted at pleased, and he'd been pleased for 100+ turns, so I guess he'd started plotting at Cautious and waited for a really long time. I imagine that if you played the map you'd have a much easier time with it since I think Justinian vassaling the entire continent before I could do anything about it was just me getting really unlucky, and I fully understand if you're not interested in playing the map, I was just wondering if you'd be interested at all.
Yes there's a link to my community discord in description which has a channel to post maps and discuss them. There's also a forum thread link you can post maps on too. Open the 4000bc save , open world builder and save it, then post the world builder save ideally so I can use buffy mod.
@@henrik9658 Ok thank you, it should be in the Discord now. For some reason the map file didn't seem to attach properly, but I got it to work by renaming the file extension
On which tiles would you recommend building workshops? I often end up with unproductive cities in the late game because i dont build any
Everywhere that's not a village or town or watermill in the late game. Pick some dedicated cities to go for factory coal plant and pump stuff in and others with too many cottages and no production can just run wealth
Hey Henrik, when you were building your lategame army, you made a bunch of calvalry. Why are they useful this late when you have infantry, planes, and tanks?
Cheap + fast + can promote vision or medic easy+ clean up weak units & move into city or catch up, just seems nice to have around to pump up numbers a bit on the cheap
I've been wanting to comment about the gems a few videos back but I don't know how far in advance these are recorded
A month 🤣
Also, what are your views on game recommendations? You cool with that? Or would you rather not have it? Or maybe some inbetween like ...once every while, or something?
Always happy to hear suggestions, I can't promise I'll do every one of them though
@@henrik9658
Do...them? Ohhhh. I think I miscommunicated a bit there. I meant video game suggestions, really, lol...my bad.
I think I made it look like I mean suggestions for 'runs' for civ 4, so to speak.
Well first of all, that's good to know that you don't mind those.
But yeah I was referring to other videogames.
When I come across 'lets players' and the like, I enjoy, I always am tempted to suggest games I know/like.
For example, I think I suggested Dominions 5 to you. It's a tactical fantasy 4x game.
I suggested (and still do) that cause you're so good at civ, maybe you'd be good at that game, too.
And if you weren't, your way of thinking is still very interesting.
I know I quasi complained at conducts of your various runs/games getting thrown away in the pursuit of winning, but that was never meant as true critique ...it just made me rethink my expectations... less of a 'strict thesis like playthrough' but 'do it as long as it works, and if it stops working, try to win anyway because that's the most entertaining thing'.
With this being a love fest, would spying be useful there? Provided you had the points on someone who mattered? Or is bribing usually the way to go? I can see that being the case since gold has so many different sources of generation, whereas spy points don't.
No need to invest in spying since I'm the tech leader
