In my opinion, Carnival has “funner” ships. It’s for people who like having fun; drinking, hanging out, singing, dancing, etc. It’s not as upscale as some other cruise lines, but a lot of the fancier cruise lines seem too uptight and, frankly, have a lot of older guests, or in the case of Disney, too many kids. The Vegas comparison was actually pretty spot on, but I love Vegas lol.
To be clear... we had a great time! And we also love Vegas. Obviously the "too many kids" thing doesn't bother us given that we have three, but yes, for adults only? Totally.
A lot of people who denigrate Carnival have never cruised Carnival. All they're doing is parroting what others say (who also, more than likely, never sailed Carnival). I would describe them as lemmings. We've been on a lot of Carnival cruises (our shortest cruise is 7 days, our longest 15) and I've never been disappointed.
The food was excellent when we cruised with Carnival in 2022! We liked Carnival so much we are cruising with them again in 2 months! The service was excellent, it was always clean. No complaints at all.
Great Job! Love your pace... "B" roll was nice... Your story line was excellent! Music mix was perfect while talking... I loved how you explained your expectations vs reality. Good balance.. "High hopes now" is a great analogy of Carnival. I will keep watching..
For embarkation it's all about arrival time there's a trick to it for sure! If you want a laid back unpretentious experience Carnival is the way to go! I know the general consensus is Carnival is the Spirit of cruising, but we disagree, the brand fits a lot of different cruise styles.
Thank you for the video! We'll be getting on in May. One thing I have seen about the elevators that I wish was more common knowledge: you need to select that deck for every person in your party. So if two of you are going to deck 9, you need to select it twice. Those elevators would be awesome if they'd put out more easily seen instructions. Maybe even include it in the muster drill or something. The problem when you only select one and you're a party of four is the elevator thinks it has more room when other people are selecting. My sister just got off the ship a little over a week ago and said this was a drawback/confusion.
I can't believe you never heard of Guy's Burgers. Even on a Disney ship I heard someone saying while eating a burger, "Well, it's OK but no Guy's Burger."
We only sailed RCCL once n it was nice. Too fancy for us. Sailed Disney once…. Toooooo expensive. Carnival is all we ever sail now. Works perfect for us n the kids. We luv them!!!! N we luv the Panorama! Sailed her once n sail her again in 14 days. She’s much nicer n newer that her sister Vista.
We only cruise on carnival. We love it. Sounds like your friends gave you bad advice about carnival. Different cruise lines are going to have different decor due to the clientele they are trying to reach. Carnival is the fun cruise line. Not the uppity cruise line. It’s best to try something new with an open mind versus a preconceived notion about how it will be.

How right you are! We purposefully set expectations low to get the most of our expectations. Definitely weren’t disappointed.
