Daniel and Granny , I assume by all the gates and locks that you've had the wierd phenomenon of things growing legs and walking off on there own or the " I Didn't Do Bug " come visiting. Ya know if someone needs or wants something I have all they need to do is ask and I'll try to help them out vs taking it , wouldn't life be so much better i we didn't have to worry about someone trying to take what we worked hard to get ! Some people just wanna take the easy way out of everything in life ! Had to say something when I saw Daniel walking to door to unlock the fuel pump

We got over 8 inches in a 4 hour period down in Monroeville in that rain storm last week. Washed out several roads in the county and flooded the downtown fire station.
The new farm looks like a lot of work and potential. Since I started watching TH-cam, I noticed so many farmers call a field shredder a "Brush Hog". That is a new one on me. When we first started cutting crop stubble near Lubbock in the 1950's we called it a shredder, it had twin cutter blades. I cut a lot of stalks behind a Ferguson and later a JD 720 tractor before I was a teenager. I know my dad bought a Servis brand that was made starting 1947 in Houston by Austin Bridge before there was a Brush Hog company. Looking on the Brush Hog site one would think they invented the Shredder.

Need that big ferry barge to ford the river right there at Benton! ;) Hope you picked up hunting rights on the new place too! Big Ditch is dang sure full and flowing! We're a bit drier than y'all and drain a little better, so we're about to get back at it up north of you.

Congratulations on the great gift of a De Walt grease gun from Bradley. I can assure you that it will save a lot of time greasing the equipment you guy's have to grease and it won't be the only one on the farm once you use it! I love watching the videos so keep them coming in the shop or out in the fields they are all informative and very professional and comical at times. I was born and raised in Arkansas with a family background farming cotton, soy bean and rice in that good ole' delta dirt. Tell Granny we said hello from Florida would ya"? All that River between Selma & Montgomery and no Bridge near you, I had no idea. I’d have to make a Barge Ferry or Pontoon Bridge to cut across with all these Tractors. Driving around at 25 MPH would get old quick.
Yes sir, we ALL wish they had built Jones Bluff Lock and Dam with a road crossing! If they could cross there it would save them untold amounts of fuel and time, and be MUCH safer. At least the bypass saves them from having to go through downtown Selma when headed to Hwy 14.
@@tommathews3964 yeah, I’d have to bring a 50 or 100ft barge up from the Tombigbee, dig a hole to park it with a ramp on either side, have the Lowndes Ferry, would not take long to pay for a older barge moving all that Equipment. Easier said then done. I was really surprised there was no bridge in the area though.
@@blakegibson2654 I'm sure the rationale of the powers that be is that the population base in the area is not enough to justify the expense of a bridge or crossing at Jones Bluff dam. Roughly 50 miles between river crossings at Selma/Montgomery and not much population in between.
Moonshiners used to run a ferry back in the day at that spot because you could get to 2 dry counties from the bottom of the bend in the river and not have to "pay the tax" in Selma

Nice grease gun ! I have 2 milwaukee ones and I love them. We also picked up some new ground this fall . We plan on planting edible black beans on it . We are going to grow more wheat black beans and soybeans instead of corn next year . We can't do much of anything besides land clearing and tree triming around the fields as we have 10 inches of snow. I enjoy your channel as I live in Michigan so your style of farming is different yet similar with the beans wheat and double crop beans. Your operation is very well run and the work environment seems perfect for your employees. Keep up the good work!
This is Bradey. I bought the Dewalt over the Milwaukee vs other because I saw they had other Dewalt cordless. So this added the tool but also other battery and charger they could use for their other tools. I have been watching for awhile to figure out if they were Dewalt vs Milwaukee vs other. Glad Triple R likes and can't wait to see it on the videos.
@@medduck I actually think the dewalt grease guns are better . But I already have all Milwaukee tools . I have both 18 and 12 volt tools . The 18 volts are powerful the 12 volts are lightweight and compact . We keep a half inch impact and grease gun in both our main tractors in the spring . I've used my impact to change cultivator shovels and forgot it on the ground and dragged it with the cultivator for 100 feet it still works fine . It was packed with dirt I blew it out with air. Really any battery powered tool is handy when farming time is money so saving a minute and some energy is perfect .

Well forgive curiosity but what was the grey coloured machine in the background of the workshop when you were doing the Martin til wheels and I have noticed a lot of tractors at the yard in the background that you never showed us are they yours or does another company rent yard space from you? Great video as always really enjoy watching different yet sometimes similar farming methods and you should be proud of that wheat crop looks grand as we say here in England
