I wish to add to my previous comment that Jan Kiepura’s singing here is especially impressive, knowing that this was performed during a live recording on stage. Grateful to Zofia for finding and publishing this unique piece so that we could acquaint ourselves with it on TH-cam.
“Messa di voce” - a singing technique originating in 18th century bel canto that requires sustaining a single pitch while gradually making the voice louder and then softer.
@@zofiakaczynska5832 yes but what it really means is an exercise where you start from nothing into the smallest falsetto and then crescendo to the full voice forte and then back . He is doing that throughout the piece but he sings an A high note at 124 in la mezza voce between falsetto and chest before continuing on dramatically . Extremely difficult for a powerful voice to do that .
Rozumiem, że nagranie pochodzi z transmisji radiowej z MET z 1939 r. Niesamowite nagranie dające pewien obraz o jakości przedstawienia i wspaniałej technice wokalnej głównych wykonawców.
Dzien dobry Pani.
He had a great voice. In there with the best.
