I see you acquired Phil Irving’ s book on tuning! Great information! A fellow I worked with in the Seventies,Sydney Biberman)(Big Sid) was a friend of Phil. When Phil was in the area he would come by the shop to check out what we were building! Extremely smart man!👍
Ohhhhh Lawdy! That Manxified Atlas is the coolest thing I've seen in weeks. Can't wait to see the work you do with it. There's a Manxed up Triton here in the area, but this all Norton build is a beauty.
It's such a great looking bike isn't it. The builder (Dennis Merwood) has a fantastic attention to detail as every nut and bolt looks to have been meticulously planned and fitted. Cheers, Mike
My boyhood dream bike would have been the Manx Atlas café racer, it’s a beauty. I’d still love it today but that riding position would restrict how far I could go on it. The handlebars on the Rocket will look slightly extreme to start with but it’s only because you’re not used to having them on your bikes, you might be pleasantly surprised when you ride it.
I think the west coast bars are in keeping with how the bike looks. As long as you're comfy whilst riding, that's what matters. Loving the Mighty Vlogmas vids Mike.
those bars are great, you'll probably love em. I thought I had those bars on my '64 TR6 but they actually curve down even more and taper in the center.
Hi Mike. Sorry I haven’t been able to make comments on your vlogmas videos for over a week, I lost all phone internet connection and power due to last weeks big storm here in the UK. So got some catching up to do. Cheers Mike, Ray 🇬🇧
Thank you, Corey. That’s a great idea. I must say I get a little nervous making my own brake cable. If I can’t find one, I’ll definitely consider it. In addition to providing all the individual pieces and cable kits, I believe Venhill will also make custom cables for you if you provide the right measurements, etc.,, so I might also consider that. That way I know it will be strong enough :-)
My 2 cents. The new bars are tilted forward to much. But I believe you like to ride leaned forward some instead of straight up. I always like to line the part of the bars going down be inline with the forks. But, I'm just making conversation here. The Norton unveiled looks absolutely great. Mike thanks for sharing and RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!
Yes, I also heard that they had stopped making them but I was in a local supermarket that specializes in beers from around the world and couldn't believe it when I saw that they had Bodds! www.johnsmarketplace.com/beer Cheers! Mike
I am thinking of attending the one moto show 2025. Wondering if anyone has any tips or recommendations for a first timer to the show on how to get a good experience without breaking the bank.
Hi Daniel, if you’d like to send me an email with a few questions, I would be happy to help where I can. I also don’t know if you know, but they are doing a second show in Vegas if it’s any closer? My email address is themightygarage@iCloud.com Cheers, Mike
'you'll have to take it out for a test ride', Mike's voice goes up a couple of octaves 'oh, if I have to'.
Made I laugh.
HAHA! I know 😆 Can't wait to hear this bike and give it a little ride. Cheers, Mike
Very enjoyable video - the Norton is a glorious looking beast !! . . .
Nice collection you’ve amassed there, Mike! 😉
Hehe, I might need a bigger garage soon! Or perhaps let 1 or 2 go??... nope, a bigger garage is the answer 😀
Retired life is pretty great, isn't it, Mike, so much more time for so many other pursuits !
It really is great Kevin. I'm loving it! The days are flying by 😀

Wow, thanks for sharing. That was great to read. Mr. Irving sure was a brilliant fellow. Cheers, Mike
Very nice Atlas, can’t wait to hear it!
Yes, me too Nick, it should sound quite loud with those shorty mufflers "silencers"!

Brialliant as always Mike! That Atlas is achingly gorgeous, can't wait to see all the content with it. :-)
Thanks a lot! Yes, it is a pleasure to work on this beautiful bike. Cheers, Mike

Wow. Congrats on the new bike Ronnie. Glorious machine. It appears Maisie has a smart lil' sweater for every day that ends Y. We strongly approve.
Thanks a lot John, yes Jane and I both spell Maisie / Maisy differently 😀
You've got a very good collection of bikes now, you'll need a garage extension soon
hehe, so true Kevin! I'm thinking about storing a couple at a friends, just to make a little space to work on the other bikes. Cheers, Mike

Thanks a lot. I'm looking forward to riding the bike with the new bars to see how they look and feel on the road. Cheers, Mike

My wife would tell you that the yellow fuel lines match the yellow in the flames on the tank. I think they look cool, too.
Hehe, thank you! I'll leave them on for now. They may even discolor over time to an orange color to match the bike 😀
Hey Mike, nice video, as always. Have you considered buying some bits from Venhill and making your own cable?

That Norton is stunning! That looks like a Triumph rear brake, am I correct on that? Love the Vlogmas vids!
Thanks a lot Jon, yes I believe it is a Triumph/BSA Conical rear hub. It looks great on the bike and beautifully finished. Cheers, Mike

Thanks a lot Henry for the tip. I will take a look at the bars. I appreciate it. Cheers, Mike
Love the videos, but where are you getting your boddingtons ? Can’t get it in Hawaii anymore. Thought they stopped making it.
Yes, I also heard that they had stopped making them but I was in a local supermarket that specializes in beers from around the world and couldn't believe it when I saw that they had Bodds! www.johnsmarketplace.com/beer Cheers! Mike
Mike, maybe you could try DeGroot in the Netherlands for some BSA stuff. BR Nick
Thanks a lot Nick. I will take a look. Cheers, Mike
