  • Burpees are hated by most, yet are such an amazing exercise. It hits a lot of different muscles in the body, can be used for cardio, and requires no equipment, allowing you to do them anywhere at any time! In CrossFit we do these all the time, so it definitely helps to know all the stretches to help you move smoothly, and some small tips when performing it, keeping you conserving as much energy as possible, and letting you blaze past everyone else! In this video we will go over burpee form, briefly cover some benefits of burpees being performed with these tips, and stretches to help you when you’re doing burpee workouts!
    The main areas we want to stretch are:
    Shoulders / ankles / hamstrings
    - These are the main muscles and joints being used or lengthened during this exercise, and keeping these areas mobile will enhance your burpee speed.
    The tips we go over:
    1. Rolling your body instead of doing a push-up
    2. Landing flat footed instead of on your toes
    3. Springing out of the burpee allowing use of the muscle reflex
    4. Landed upright with a wide stance
    - With all these tips being implemented, you can save a ton of energy and time performing burpees during a workout!

    The whole point is to be difficult. Tight core in the pushups is good core training. Fish flopping for many reps is asking for injury in the lower spine.

      So true, burpees is one of the hardest bodyweight training, especially when we have to do at maximum pace, keep pushing! 💪💪

  • @mrbee3534
    @mrbee3534 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is a burpee variation and dependent on your preference especially as a taller individual I find this method a good alternative, I am not knocking original burpee method either but find alot of people get stuck on conventional beliefs. Burpees were used in the British army, when I served in 90s we barely did Burpees (mainly to warm up) most calisthenics were press ups or sit ups, and endurance and fitness side was obtained through yomping with full kit, running or piggy back race sprinting. Burpees in the states seem to be a more competitive obsession, never seen this within UK. Why is this?

    • @ConstantlyVariedFitness
      @ConstantlyVariedFitness  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well they became really popular with CrossFit, which started in the U.S.
      With CrossFit you tend to do this for time (so you want to get them done quickly) which is why people like to push the pace with them.

  • @sultaa86

    We do these during warm-up session for mma training everytime. And we have to do them pretty fast. Which means i really hate them

      +sange gatzel doing cardio workouts that spike the heart rate for a prolonged period of time (20+ minutes) and decreasing your calories will help you lose weight.
      Burpees are a great exercise to have in your workouts to help get your heart rate up.

    My dumbass has been doing literal push-up every single time I’ve done a burpee for the past 10 years…

    • @TacSav253
      @TacSav253 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep doing real push-ups in your burpee routine lol I've never seen anyone do a burpee like this dude. And the way he pushes up from lying flat on the ground looks bad for the lower back.

    • @jakemccoy
      @jakemccoy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you trying to be fitter, or are you trying to hold the record in burpees reps? Tight core in the pushups is good core training. Fish flopping for many reps is asking for injury in the lower spine. Just because somebody makes a slick video does not make them correct.

    Why the hell to do them easier? Best way is not to do them at all. The main point of a burpee is to make your strength, not your cheating.

    • @ConstantlyVariedFitness
      @ConstantlyVariedFitness  5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      You don't build strength from a burpee, it's a body weight exercise. You could build muscular and aerobic endurance. Plus if you make them easier, you can go faster and do more of them.

    • @AntranikDotOrg
      @AntranikDotOrg 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@ConstantlyVariedFitness Bodyweight exercises can build strength if you make them hard enough to build strength. Obviously you have a goal of doing endurance, so you're making them easier.

  • @peteh7673

    Just cannot agree with this at all. So to make them easier go onto your knees so that the push up is easier? Hey, another way to make them easier is not to go down to the floor at all. Just do the little jump then you can do even more reps. I mean, if you want to say, that this is a modified burpee - no problem at all. But don't pretend it is still a full burpee. You may as well do push ups on your knees and call them full push ups.
