My great grandfather was an Italian stone mason and he built a stone house for his family in Kentucky. He messed up a stone over the door for the balcony. Every time he went out he shook his fist at it and said son of a b stone. Decades later the family all does that as a tribute to him. I have fond memories of my tiny grandmother doing it. Screw ups and challenges can bring a family together long after you are gone.
TSH your kiddos are pioneers. They are experiencing something monumental. They are literally building sustainably. Your family is so hardworking like families used to be. It’s beautiful. Very inspiring. ❤
Dear Jonathan & Ashley, Congratulations on embarking on the incredible journey of building your own Hyperadobe house! Your dedication, hard work, and commitment to creating a sustainable and unique living space are truly inspiring. As you navigate through the process of constructing your dream home, remember that every step you take brings you closer to achieving your vision. Building a Hyperadobe house is not just about creating a physical structure; it's about building a home filled with love, warmth, and memories that will last a lifetime. Your determination to create a sustainable living space speaks volumes about your passion for a better, more environmentally friendly future. We are thrilled to hear about your progress and would love to learn more about your swale project. Your efforts in implementing sustainable practices like swales show your dedication to environmental stewardship and land conservation. The initiative you've taken will undoubtedly have a positive impact on your property and the surrounding environment. If it's possible amidst your busy schedule, we would greatly appreciate an update on your swale project. Hearing about your experiences, challenges, and achievements would not only inspire us but also motivate others who are passionate about sustainable living and alternative building methods. Remember, every brick laid and every plant nurtured brings you closer to the realization of your dream home and a more sustainable lifestyle. Keep up the fantastic work, stay resilient, and never lose sight of the incredible impact you're making on your lives and the world around you. Warm regards,
I keep on thinking how invested your kids are going to be in this house and I keep on imagining your kids bringing their families home for the holidays with grandma and grandpa. Think how wonderful that will be.
Can i just say how freaking sleek your bags are looking? All clean and perfect lines and curves and tamping and such - your house is going to look so awesome as a result 🎉 way to go tiny shinies! ✨💖
During the drone shots I can picture the house rising up from the high desert floor. That recap video is going to be epic. One step, one bag, one shovel-full, one day at a time. Thanks for sharing the journey.
All of your young adults helping you are amazing. The support they give you to the build is to be commended. While financial support speaks volumes your entire family need to have a huge shout out for their contribution to the channel.. Well done all you are doing an amazing job.....
GO TEAM!!👏💛🙌 You guys are such great troubleshooters and problem solvers💚💚 I love to watch the process🤗🤗Keep on the positive side of life...love Ashley's attitude🍀🧡🧡👋👋👋👋
It’s exciting now ,because it’s starting to rise from the ground. You will overcome each hurdle as you come to it!you are a great team and you all work together and make magic happen. When all this is done, you will have a unique home and the pride of knowing you all did it together. No matter how you house is built,it’s family that will make it a home, and all those memories and times you spent together creating it…Love n hugs to you all 🥰
I really love watching the progress you're making and how you all are working together to achieve your goal. Looking forward to seeing your accomplishments for 2024.
Two ideas: 1) Instead of the pipes on the trolley, screw a caster roller onto the wood. Because the wheel turns, there should be no friction. If you use two (left/right), it would provide a better fit for the bucket and allow some height adjustment by adjusting the distance between the two wheels. 2) When adding one bag to the end of another, wrap the first bag in newspaper first. The second bag slides easier over the paper than a bag. When done, pull the newspaper out.
I have an idea for your dolly bucket system : attach a wire to one edge of the board on the dolly and thread it through the pvc pipe and attach the wire to the other edge of the board. This way the pipe will roll as the bag material comes off the bucket and hopefull prevent chaffing and tears to the bag material. I love watching you guys live your dream,
Wow! What a hard working crew. When that gorgeous and unique house is finally built you guys will SO deserve your beautiful new home. Hope 2024 is a really good year for you all - I'm confident that you will make it so. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.
super excited for you all, that house will be up in no time, love how the whole family is building it and how you are making great memories :)))) love the video :)))
You have GOT this! I watched your yearly re-cap video earlier this week; I can't believe ALL that you have accomplished on your property not to mention the beauty of the character that has grown in each one of you! I absolutely love watching you folks grow!! I'm here smiling and praying for you every step of the way! It is such a blessing to see you love each other and nurture your animals too!
It’s so exciting to see the bags building up! Looks like you got all the kinks out of the bucket situation! You guys are so smart! Those kitties!! Love seeing them! Keep at it! Love ya! 💕
I thought you had to get Lowes buckets! You did! I like how you solved the bucket gap problem off of the trolley board. PVC pipe to the rescue! I sure hope that works when you start on top of the foundation walls. You got more cement? I love the dome in the background! So nice to see the dolly being used again! Nice, added another bigger diameter PVC pipe. That is a really long wall! Two cement mixers! The dudes look funny with their haircuts! It looks like your experiment worked by overlapping bags to get a little farther. Yay, two layers all around! Congratulations! It looks like my shirt! I do appreciate your showing us a whole week of work on your home in a video! Thanks so much Longnecker family!
Great work guys! Some tips that will help you. 1, decrease your height on the discharge side of the mixers (wheelbarrow side, dig a trench). It will help tip out the mix easier. 2. Make sure to work from the outside ring to the inside ring now that you have reached ground level. Otherwise, the inner walls will shorten your compass the more you gain height. Keep up the good work !!!
Very true, but work from the outside in as you go while using the ground compass, interlock, rinse and repeat. When you get about the fourth row, the inner circle will start to shorten your compass (chain) for the other two circles. You will have to look at using a pole compass and use a loose bracket on the chain to rotate around the pole. Just something to keep in the back of your mind. Don't stop doing the fantastic work you (family) are doing. Kind regards.
We'll only use the compass until we're out of the ground because yes once we get there it will hit the other walls. This isn't a dome, just vertical walls so all we'll need to do is make sure they're plumb as we lay them on top of the compassed bags.
It’s really getting exciting now! Great idea with the pvc on the dolly bucket. If you find there’s still friction, I have an idea… think: paper towel holder. Attach a bar to the plywood and slide the pvc over the bar. That should allow the pvc to free spin as needed and eliminate any friction.
good morning or good afternoon you guys hope you guys have a wonderful day out there keep up the good work still guys got a long ways to go but I'm proud of what you guys are doing keep up the good work
Second layer, good job! More complicated you say !!! just a suggestion ..take one room at a time then you don’t have to go through all the more complicated steps. But what do I know lol love you guys. It makes sense in my head.
Yay. I love hearing you call it a "dolly" !!! I'm from Ohio. Moving to NM three words no one knew what I was talking about was.: Dolly.. They call a hand truck. 2. A "sweeper" and 3. A "Skid"
❤❤❤❤❤❤ What a Devine place to be. Freedom with creation. Those views are so incredible. So love how your family works together. Yahusha love's your heart 💞 sharing your wonderful adventure, sending love and light ❣️
Looking GREATl!!! It's really exciting to see the progress and it is a Wow factor, and pretty soon the walls will be there!! Love the videos, love you folks, keep rocking and rolling!!
Go team we are so excited. You always make it look easy. I was thinking it had to been more than just two days that you did this so thank you for being honest and we are always so impressed just to watch.
I really love your music as the background of all your videos. Thank you for being a beautiful, kind family. It's easy to watch every video. Keep up the amazing work.
Congratulations on getting to ground level, looks awesome. I’ve been watching, just haven’t commented as often. God’s blessings on you all. Keeping you in my prayers.😘💖
I love how well you all work together! Loving too the progress of the big house! My Sister gave me a Tiny Shiny Home T Shirt for Christmas! I was beyond thrilled! We love you guys over here in Kansas! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I know I totally appreciate all your hard work. Loving all your content, I know I’m not the only 1 that waits for content. Keep up with the amazing work.👏👏👏👏👏
If I were you, I would make the ramps from dirt and stones, which you later on remove. Easy and you do it only once. Right where the doors are going to be. First you fill it to the point of the first layer, then put more dirt for the next layer and continue to use them along the way.
Check out car ramps you can get ones that are out off a plastic type of material, you’d have to bridge over from one side to the other. You’d need 2 sets. It’s an idea
They aren't the right size, unfortunately (have to be tall enough to get over the 4th bag and door frame). We'll just need to b build something custom.
Awesome family building their home together and making awesome memories and the experiences that help them thrive in life never give up solutions can be small or big 😊
Getting there! Question were you going have a concrete floor because the next couple of courses could act as forms because it would be the easiest time to get it done. Just on the house part and hold of on the patio court yard. Which the courtyard would be a good place too set up the mixing stations. Because you have opening too access it from both sides. Food for thought. Have a good week until next time, and God bless amen.
I would try pushing the PVC through the center of the foam and mounting them together on the plywood. That should give you more strength and stability and also give you the softer surface area that you're looking for as well. In fact... If you stretch the foam over the PVC you could leave 4 or 5 inches of bare PVC sticking out on both sides of the foam so you can more easily attach the PVC to the plywood at both ends. Take care. sincerely, Dean O. :-I

Hi there, the swale is a long term investment, and will take years to see meaningful changes. Playing the long game :)
Was just curious to see the progress thanks for the response.
I keep on thinking how invested your kids are going to be in this house and I keep on imagining your kids bringing their families home for the holidays with grandma and grandpa. Think how wonderful that will be.
This.

Im impressed with how long that harbor freight cement mixer has lasted.

To solve the tearing problem, use PVC with rebar run through it. This will act as a roller while holding the bucket away from the dolly.
The PVC isn't what's causing the tearing. It's the wood.
It’s exciting now ,because it’s starting to rise from the ground. You will overcome each hurdle as you come to it!you are a great team and you all work together and make magic happen. When all this is done, you will have a unique home and the pride of knowing you all did it together. No matter how you house is built,it’s family that will make it a home, and all those memories and times you spent together creating it…Love n hugs to you all 🥰
It is such a great thing to see how comfortable the kids are with tools, mixers etc!! All of them growing and learning!!! YEAH!!!
I really love watching the progress you're making and how you all are working together to achieve your goal. Looking forward to seeing your accomplishments for 2024.
Nothing like a snuggy kitty on a chilly day. All those little niggly things along the way -- lots of problem solving. But you got this!
Congrats!! 2✔️
Super COOL guys!!!

Good job!!! It looks like a spaceship from above.

The new hat is epic!
Way to go yall!! Scoop by scoop, shovel by shovel a dream is happening. Sinch by the inch, hard by the yard. Keep it up!
Jonathan, the Hayden hat suits you much better than the ball cap. Every shovelful gets you closer to the dream. Great progress.
You all do such great job working together. Bravo 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
It’s really getting exciting now!

If you find there’s still friction, I have an idea… think: paper towel holder.
Attach a bar to the plywood and slide the pvc over the bar. That should allow the pvc to free spin as needed and eliminate any friction.
The friction isn't at the PVC point, it's at the wood. So it doesn't need to spin.
Your house is going to be awesome as a result of the work you are accomplishing...
All the hard work, long days and passion are coming to life. Im in for the long haul. You guys are my Rock Stars.🎉❤
Hang in there. Your hard work will bring a major reward. Your home, built by you!

Go guys, go!!
I think the 2 wheels barrow is cool, looks more stable for heavy loads.
Second layer, good job! More complicated you say !!!
just a suggestion ..take one room at a time then you don’t have to go through all the more complicated steps. But what do I know lol love you guys. It makes sense in my head.
All walls have to go up at the same time. They are interlocked with each other every other layer.
Wow! Well you can do it! One layer at a time. I’ve seen you! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏♥️❤️❤️
One way or the other 🎶🎵🎶 it's getting done
So excited to see this build coming out of the ground!!! Onwards and upwards 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

You could put the pvc through the foam so the foam rotates.
I love how well you all work together! Loving too the progress of the big house! My Sister gave me a Tiny Shiny Home T Shirt for Christmas! I was beyond thrilled! We love you guys over here in Kansas! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

We wanted to, but concrete prices have skyrocketed. We'll have to figure it out later and focus on the walls for now.
Great progress! Well done on the problem solving. 🙂
Put tape around that rim to help slide off and make sure it's tight or silicone foam to it might help
Hello 👋 love you guys ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Install two wedges between the bucket and the back board to give the offset you need.
Robots love it so much keep it up as always 💘
😊 TY for the VIDEO ❤ PEACE
Great job guys!!! Doing so good. Keep it up. Love and be safe!🤗😘🌼🇻🇪
