Supposedly Martha Stewart’s favorite perfume is Fracas. In a 2021 profile in Allure, they feature a photo of her 70+ perfume bottle collection. From the article: Stewart collects fragrances, but her heart belongs to the tuberose- and jasmine-spiked Fracas by Robert Piguet. Conveniently, the owner of the company used to live across the street. Prior to his passing at age 93, "he would induce me to bring over a six-pack of Corona beer and he would give me a bottle of Fracas," says Stewart, laughing.
I agree about Martha Stewart. She does have some useful tips, e.g. one time she suggested to fill vacant space in a freezer to reduce energy use, even if it's empty cardboard boxes used to fill the space. I always thought highly of that tip. However, to me, she does seem to be a cannabis addict, and one who I can't exactly trust, e.g. She is friends with Snoop Dogg, Willie Nelson, etc. (those types), and I don't like those types. One reason is because they'd rather be using cannabis instead of ever actually being edifying or morally there for you. If she seems cold to you, then it might actually be because she might be a cannabis addict. Also, I'm now intrigued to sample April Aromatics and some of the other ones you mentioned.
@@regismonkton I wouldn’t know a cannabis addict if I saw one, haha. But there was just something about Martha and her tone of voice. She had an affair and when she was asked about she said ”it was nothing” several times with no visible emotion. Really strange to me.
@@margaritamaciasdealba5011 These buyers have offered me a sum of money many times and this must be their fourth offer but they are still not at the right level. If I don’t get a certain price, I stay. And they knew this price all along, but are still trying to get me to sell. But I won’t.
I read somewhere that Martha Steward wears Frederic Malle's Carnal Flower and weed. Thought that was interesting. I've seen her gardening videos and she harps alot about cost saving...but who knows...maybe it's just for her audience. I am quite fond of April Aromatics. Sometimes hard to justify her pricing though with so many competition. If I had a smaller wardrobe, I might buy into more of her stuff...I only have a few now which are unique. She does have a level of polish that I don't find in alot of natural perfumery. I see the similarities between Nector of Love and Hiram Green. Their florals have a indolic raw edge...somewhat similar to vintage like maybe you said too.
@@gunmetal2445 Martha Stewart seems really smart and learned a lot about cost saving from growing up poor, I suppose. They HAD to grow their own food and they would trade it for other things they couldn’t grow. There is something cold about Carnal Flower too, I think. I have a travel size of Carnal Flower which I very seldom use or even think about. It is beautiful, but somehow I don’t reach for it. Agree about April’s price point and that that makes it hard to fit a few bottles in, given one wants to have many fragrances. I think I will be happy with the discovery set for a long time. Wearing Lavendeluce today and I really love it!
Your experience with selling is similar to a few of my friends in different parts of Australia. Trying to sell, but then seeing what they will get with the money left over after selling. Quite depressing. All 3 of them have decided to stay put. Gendarme, pronounced jaundarm is French for police I believe. I had a chuckle when you were talking about your son getting into your fragrances. I have 2 teenage grandsons who are into perfumes, so it’s something in common we can talk about, and I give them the masculine samples I receive when ordering something. Plus they know what they will be getting for Christmas😃🇦🇺
I didn't see your entire title and I thought, "oh, that sounds like Martha Stewart" hahaha! I was influenced to try the Victoria Beckham discovery set and what a huge disappointment. All four were not good at all. I even started to not trust my nose, that maybe I wasn't familiar with the style or something but nope, I just couldn't even wear any of them a full day. Also, despite the moldy spandex bathing suit opening, I fell in love with Oriza L Legrand Relique D' Amour so I ordered a bottle and they had a free small one with purchase, so I am getting Le Regent as well. I am so excited! I really love that house.
@@StelmaDesigns You thought Victoria Beckhams fragrances were that bad!!! One of them is similar to Bal D’Afrique from Byredo. 21:50 Reverie was really good, I thought, but not worth the price.
@@StelmaDesigns Many of my friends love Relique D’Amour so maybe should give it another chance. Just don’t know if I can get past the drydown! I love Le Regent. That house is good value for money. I should try more from them. Fragrance & Art has them.
@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 Oh no! I smelled actual poop in Reverie and I am not one to shy away from animalics whatsoever. I even left a review on Fragrantica. I will probably get a bunch of down votes, lol. Ok, I never liked Bal D Afrique. Which one is like that one? The white one, I also left a not too great comment on, Suite 302 It was a mess. Are they patchouli heavy because all these perfumes have a woody sort of note that I can't take and they smell synthetic to me. I didn't write this in my reviews but some smell like cheap Middle Eastern dupe house clones. Portofino and San Ysidro Drive were the only two that I could put on my skin, but I can't say I liked them. It has to be the style I don't care for. I don't know, maybe I should retry but on the other hand there are too many perfumes to love, why waste time trying to like something I didn't like the first time.
@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 I don't know, we all have differing tastes and if you can't do the dry down, why bother? Their soaps are great too and I think their 6 piece sample kit for $20.00 is a great deal. You can pick the samples. Also, I love their beautiful antique packaging. haha, it sounds like I work for them! They are becoming one of my favorite perfume houses for sure.
@ I can’t remember which one smells like Bal D’Afrique. I read your funny review on Fragrantica and also went back to my sample to have another sniff of 21:50 and I love it! It has some small overlap with Cacao Porcelana and I have heard others say that smells fecal. I think it is earthiness. I love both of these perfumes! Would not buy 21:50 though. It is too expensive and too heavy to wear regularly.
Blessings, I am a big fan of yours, even though I don't know English, I do everything through translation. I have several of your perfumes, I love them. My last order number: 69664 I hope to be able to try some perfume from your personal collection that is very strong. Thank you.
Coeur is heart in French
Totally agree that the price of fragrance is fundamental
@@RichMitch Yes! And so many reviewers don’t even mention price and that is probably because they are not spending any money on the fragrances.
