    What a joy it is to watch your videos. Always so genuine and informative. You have that rare ability of imparting complex information fully in a palatable, engrossing, down-to-earth way. I'm always learning from you - and not just about perfume. Love your channel, 🔑🔑

      What a nice comment, thank you! It made me really happy. I seem to get that a lot, that subscribers appreciate the non-perfume content. The idea behind sharing other things is that I myself appreciate when youtubers let me know more about who they are so that I can get a better idea about their lifestyle and it just all becomes more personal. So I am trying to make content that I appreciate myself.

    Hi Kicki. I'm glad you're fond of indoor plants. I like having indoor plants too. I have an indoor hibiscus which I put at a south-facing window a few years ago, and it has become huge in the past few years. It's almost covering the entire window. It's increasing its blooms by a lot year after year, and it blooms for at least a few months in a row. I have other indoor plants too, and I'm planning on having two south-facing rooms as my indoor plant rooms: they'll be called my indoor plant lounges.
    This year, I've been collecting fragrances not as frequently as the previous four years, and that gives me a good feeling. I have too many to wear as it is, but I'll keep collecting, just less frequently, and more selectively than before. Recently, I added two good ones to my collection, and they are: Hermes "Bel Ami Vetiver" and Oriza L. Legrand "Reve d'Ossian" (I remember you spoke highly of the latter one). I've been sampling a lot more too, e.g. last night I sampled for the first time Houbigant "Iris des Champs". At first I thought it was unbelievably weak, but then I found it got better (both scent and performance) during the wearing. I've been thinking, though, if I want something somewhat similar to that, then I might get Maison Violet "Tanagra" instead. Have you tried "Tanagra" or "Bel Ami Vetiver"?

    • @thehonestperfumereviewer6336
      @thehonestperfumereviewer6336  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Interesting that you remember me talking highly of Réve D'Ossian, because it is no longer top of mind. I had a sample or decant and might have used it up. The desire for more didn't last because by then I was probably already into other things. But that house Oriza L Legrand is good value for money, I think. I have a bottle of Bel Ami Vetiver and I think it is just beautiful on man or woman. I just gave some to a male friend and it smells great on him. Then I have another friend, a woman, who wears it and she loves it! It smells great on her too. I don't wear it that much, but I think I have just sort of forgotten. Always on the chase for new things so thank you for reminding me of my own collection. I have tried Tanagra, but no fragrance from Maison Violet intrigued me that much. Tanagra was nice if I remember correctly, but I have so many iris fragrances already, Infusion D'Iris, Iris des Champs, Trench, Poudre Désir, Chanel no 19 Poudré and a few more if you count decants. To me Iris des Champs is not weak, but perhaps moderate. Not many iris fragrances are strong projectors.

    Hi! Your new direction with coaching and new hobbies sounds great 😊 Regarding perfume, I spent a couple of months trying to cut on youtube because I was getting kind of obsessed trying new things, and I was getting overwhelmed. I am good with bottles, but I was buying too many decants for my budget, everyone has a different budget... I find F.Bianchi worth the money, I think her perfumes are quite intimate and enjoy the olfactive experience. Ormonde Jayne, I love Ormonde Woman and many others from the old ones, I do not understand the new direction with 88ml bottles only and over expensive, sad. And no niche, but I find cacharel worth a try.

    • @thehonestperfumereviewer6336
      @thehonestperfumereviewer6336  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for commenting. I just smelled Ormonde Woman on someone that came to our latest perfume meetup and it was incredible! Have never tried it on my own skin, though. Must put it on my list of things I want to sample. There are just so many fragrances to try and so little time and so little skin, haha.
      One thing I have found limits going overboard with decants is swapping with others and also not always going for the 5 ml but ask to purchase 2 or 3 ml which usually is plenty to get an idea of the perfume. I can buy most anything from people in my community so am only paying the real ml-price for the juice I am buying. Plus of course a small fee for the decant and shipping.

    I have just gotten Revlon Fire and Ice - it’s a powdery makeupy amber! If you see it around, try it- something oriental too.

    I have seen Ramsey's livestream on Unique'e, very enjoyable indeed, the blurbs were a total mess haha.
    After your last video I sampled Hasu no-Hana and I think we have a winner here. Beautiful quality, vintage style-which I like a lot- and I get a wonderful warming feeling with this one. On my to buy list! I also sampled Shem- el- Nessim from the same line and I found it just as lovely. Floral powder with almondy touches from heliotrope. I saw on fragrantica some say that it is their formal type of floral scent, for me because I like that kind of dna so much and I can wear it easily, I find it very cocooning actually. Like your favourite wool sweater on a cool winter day. You got me into trouble with this house😅 Take care!

      Oh dear, you are in trouble! Those fragrances are not cheap. So happy to now have a decant of Phul Nana from Grossmith. My friend bought that one when we visited Fragrance & Art last summer so we swapped some juice. We go there once a year. But might have to get a sample of Shem-el-Nessim before that, it sounds lovely! I love heliotrope! Thank you for commenting!

    I sampled Unique’es mango fragrance and I couldn’t get it out of my room. It was SO strong! Not a bad smell but I felt like it was screaming at me. Followed by Kerosene blew my hair back too!😂

      Haha, that is funny. I agree on Followed! The whole room where I keep my perfume reeks of Followed although I have not even sprayed the decant yet. Haven't tried the mango one. I don't gravitate towards fruit, but this morning I am actually trying God of Fire which is a mango fragrance. It is quite masculine, will give you more info on this one in an upcoming video.

    It is always great to see a video from you. Glad you a making progress in your coaching direction. I really value your perfume reviews and descriptions too. Great that more viewers are finding you. Im heading for a long weekend away with a few good girlfriends. None of them are really into perfume so I cant do too m uch chat about perfumes but I have packaged up gifts for them from my collection. Will be good to clear out those fragrances to make way for new ones. Have. you any carnation perfumes? I have a 10ml Le Lion which I love but 10ml is enough. Thanks for reminding me to save my money for more important things.

    • @thehonestperfumereviewer6336
      @thehonestperfumereviewer6336  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Carnation is a note that I really can't pick out. I associate it with men's classic fragrances. Ramsey talks a lot about "old school carnation" but I don't have an idea about this. I think it is close to rose, but not sure. I have a lot of fragrances with this note listed, but no carnation fragrances if you mean fragrances where this note is dominant. I find that it is a very common note in older perfumes where they list 30 notes.
      So nice that you are making perfume gifts for your friends! I do that all the time and usually after a while I get feedback about how much they are enjoying the perfume. Sometimes though, I find that they have hardly touched them, haha. The either keep wearing no perfume at all or they stick to their current favorite, like Black Opium or Alive.

    • @thehonestperfumereviewer6336
      @thehonestperfumereviewer6336  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe I am getting carnation mixed up with geranium. The geranium note is closer to rose and carnation closer to cloves. In Swedish cloves and carnation is the same word.

    Love to hear your thoughts. Oh, plants are a wonderful hobby! Although I don't have any indoor...mine are all outside and need as much sun as possible.
    Sous Le Manteau - You reminded me that I have these samples and need to go through them. I just spritz Poudre Imperiale and will be spending time with it.
    Chasing Scents: Slow World - I enjoy some of their other tea creations from the house. Slow World is the type of release which I am indifferent too in the indie/ niche world When I was living in Canada, I would buy samples of incense blends from new age-type shops...and this smells exactly like that. Medicinal and muddy. I feel maybe it's not interesting or complex enough to be a perfume.
    Celine - This was a release that made me rethink how I value perfume. I never cared for the Celine brand previously and I am not a fan of Hedi Slimane's youth-centric aesthetics. But saying that he creative directed some really good perfumes at Dior and I decided to give this brand a chance. I agree its more overpriced then usual, but something about it just wears beautifully on my skin. I think this X factor is something I am taking into consideration in my future purchases. I am sad to say I own a few bottles now and am poorer for it lol

      Thank for sharing all of this! Laughed at "medicinal and muddy", spot on! I think I can picture the type of shops you are describing. And I know what you mean about the Celine line. I had some decants of Nightclubbing and Black Tie and they were easy-reaches that always felt right. But boy, did I go through that juice quickly! The bottles are so pretty, so I could see myself letting myself get ONE. And it would probably be Black Tie.

      I gave it a full day's wearing and will talk more about my experience in an upcoming video. Very sweet and very potent! I think I would add some more dark patchouly to quiet down the sugar/caramel. Like maybe layer it with Patchouly from Profumum Roma. That bottle is going to last forever, haha. But I found it quite unisex, nor feminine or masculine.

    In response to your question about which fragrance house I think is worth the money, IMO Serge Lutens is. Maybe it's entry level niche but the prices aren't through the roof plus the quality and uniqueness of some of the fragrances make it worth the money.

    I love Hasu No Hana and I did get it at a pretty good deal from an eBay seller several years ago. It's still the most expensive perfume I own even so. I agree with you about the openings of some vintage perfumes. I even remember as a teen wearing Charlie and then Halston. I can still recall not loving the opening of Charlie and bearing through it, ya know cause it's a serious *perfume*, haha! They both started off very sharp and green but the dry downs were just yummy, still to this day I love wearing Halston for that heavenly dry down. oxJulia

    Sebastian The Perfume Guy always raves about Reine de Saba-& yes the bottle tops are obnoxious. Kind of reminds of the currently popular Middle Eastern called Sehr where every reviewer takks about the bottle serving as a great weapon😂So many horrible Middle Eastern bottles. They should simplify them & save some time & money lol

    • @thehonestperfumereviewer6336
      @thehonestperfumereviewer6336  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haha, yes. I believe that Sebastian basically gets everything for free. No way is he buying all of those bottles with his own money. I can usually hear when he doesn't like something, though. But I have stopped listening so much to him, I mostly go there to find the latest launches. I will give him that, he is usually the one to talk about new fragrances first! He thinks the Reine de Saba bottle tops are great! So our taste is really different. The has a Middle Eastern background if I am not mistaken and I guess I have more of a less-is-more Scandinavian taste. I love basic bottles like Dior's or Byredo's, although these are not my favorite houses.

But all three very good fragrances in terms of the actual smell!

    I love Ramsey (for many reasons). But I must agree that he’s a little anal😂 Say, he’s decided that he loves Liz Morse and her stuff and dislikes Francesca Bianchi and her stuff, and nothing can change that🤨🤨
    As for his accepting bottles - I saw him trashing the hell out of a full bottle he got. He simply obliterated it. So it might be a ”you” problem.
