Beautiful female Femininus wrasse Sam! Fingers crossed the foxface settles down quickly! Definitely need to get yourself an acclimation box for any other new additions now.
I have one, but I find it only works with some fish. Point of this process was to distract from the wrasse, which worked a treat. Glad to say the pyramids are fine today :)
Great video as always Sam! That wrasse is an absolute stunner (just looked up the price - definitely not a cheap fish, no wonder your nervous!😬, look forward to updates. Just have to add how awesome that you take the time to acknowledge & answer all comments - thank you!
Love the video Sam....I had to laugh when I seen the front desk tank and how you basically admitted your slacking in the cleanup department 😅😅😅😅 Also that wrasse is amazing...love the tank Bro
Beautiful looking fish well all of them are , congratulations on picking up a dream fish too, might have to enquire at my local LFS here in the U.K. (probably a no thou), look forward to an update of all doing well 🙏🏼🤞🏼 all the best fella.
Awsome wrasse, by the looks of it will be hunting overtime. Time to wack some more pods in the sump. 😄 I'm surprised you don't use a peacemaker to introduce new fish. They say a week works wonders, you already know.😁👍👍👍
All fish doing great on day 2, so I’m stoked with that so far. I do have an acclimation box, but it was not in the strategy this time around as I wanted the fish to notice the other new fish first and then hide the wrasse :)
@@ParkersReef Ya, I don't use them either but my tank is way smaller and I could easily catch a fish with little effort. Glad to hear they're working it out, that wrasse is so sweet!! 👍
I have said it before we have very similar taste. That is my favorite wrasse. I cannot afford one but my lfs had one for a couple years. It recently died but it was a absolute show stopper when they had it. Hope all goes well with the other new editions.
Nice my Pyramid seems to be the most sociable with me compared to the rest of the fish. I’m wondering if I should add more that said with the Hawaii ban its harder to get in good shape in the states. I have not tried Anthias but have been looking at the fathead sunburst, Im just not sure on feeding requirements and if they will eat non frozen for vacations etc
hello man great video where do you get that parts to go from the pvc tube to the RO hose to aclimate the fish ? Sorry for my english, hope you understand
Such a beautiful wrasse Sam and tank is looking magnificent overall! Mind if I ask how much that wrasse set you back? I have a melanurus wrasse, do you think there would be issues if I added another type of wrasse in a 6ft mixed reef tank or best not to?
Hey Paul, it was a pricey fish - $2500. You can get imports for around $1500, but I wanted an Aussie one. I wouldn’t be sure on mixing with melanaurs, I’m bit of a wrasse noob to be honest!
I know how stressful that is.. I have 2 in my 8ft cade and one at home.. they really are a cool fish. I am interested to see if you have the same issue I have with them dropping sand on your corals..
I dont. Never have :) Decided a long time ago that if I cannot do it properly (which is not as easy as some will have you believe) it’s not worth doing at all. I chose healthy fish, run a large UV and chose safer options in species. Haven’t lost a fish through disease in all my years of reefing, so I think it’s working well for me so far
I do not, never have. I don’t have the facility, time or expertise to do it properly. For that reason, I chose lower risk fish and run a large uv steriliser
Mate I’m loving your tank and content but.. given the level you are at in this hobby and the value of your system and livestock it makes me cringe watching you put fish in that system that have not been through QT. Not trying to criticise or be negative but it would be devastating if you introduced something nasty to your system. I’ve learned the hard way so that’s where I’m coming from..
Yes lots of comments on that…. I’ve never QT’d fish. Risk I’m willing to take. I don’t have the ability to qt fish properly, so I believe it’s not worth doing if not properly. I choose “lower risk” fish, run a large UV and only select healthy fish. Has served me well for ten years
@@ParkersReef fair enough man everyone in this hobby does things their way and that’s what makes the hobby great. I too got away without QT since around 2005 until this year. I also believed QT was well outside my abilities and comfort zone, but I was forced to learn. Luckily there are two very recent GREAT resources out there.. the Humblefish TH-cam channel and BRS series on QT are the best go to guides and show that it is actually very easy. I’m very comfortable with QT now and promote the above channels because they made QT accessible to me. Also loving AF life source my rocks are super clean now and I believe regular additions of this bio diversity helps to fend off old tank syndrome that could be partially caused by drop off in bacteria diversity over time. Thanks to your video on that product 👍
Beautiful fish but the pronunciation of femininus (you put the name in your title, it's not feminus) and anthias (single is not anthia, the s is hard, like bus, not soft like bees) makes me cringe.
Really enjoyed the thorough introduction method. It’s always a gamble when adding new tank mates.
Yeah tried something a bit different this time and I’m happy to say that so far it has worked well
Is the Wrasse settling in ok?
Yeah an absolute treat. Super happy
A beautiful wrasse Sam. The fish you added are nice additions. Hope all of them adjust well. Cheers..
So far so good mate 👍🏻
A beautiful wrasse . Good luck with all of the fishes getting along.

Such an awesome fish! It is really cool to see so many varieties of fish in one tank!
Certainly has added some great diversity to the tank
That wrasse 😍😍 never seen one in the UK. Amazing tank 👏 loving your videos mate 👍
Glad you enjoyed it mate, cheers!
Beautiful wrasse! Nice technique ! Love to see these videos about fish. Hope all the fish will get along. Good luck mate !

No lid on the tank in the reef store. That never seems to amaze me
yeah that's because it was kept in a coral tank - not usually for fish :)
Excited for this one - my dream fish!
yeah they are so nice!

Good luck with the wrasse

I've always like fem's and lenardi, that's about it :D
Parker, always add new fish when all the lights are out in the middle of the night!
I deliberately wanted these fish to be noticed, not the wrasse - otherwise I do :)

Brilliant video as always and congrats on the purchase!
Thanks so much mate!
Isn't it great when a plan works just as you had hoped. Hope the pyramids are OK Sam and I love the Feminus
So far so good mate, doesn’t ease the stress though 😅
Definitely consider using an acclimation box when introducing any fish you are worried about getting a hard time - its worked wonders for me!
Yeah I have one and use it often, wanted a different approach in this instance due to the number of fish

unfortunately lost one this morning, rest appear to have settled fine
@@ParkersReef bummer. Hopefully you can get another one and distract the rabbit fish 🤞🏻

Sam what is the minimum size tank for a trio of pyramid butterflies, would you say?
Probably 6 foot. Perhaps 4 foot, but they do get pretty large

I’m afraid it did not :(

Hi, i wonder why you didnt quarantine new arrival fish like used to?
I’ve never quarantined fish :)
I don’t have the time, knowledge or facilities to do it properly and firmly believe you do it properly or not at all
I absolutely love your collection of fish! About how many do you have in your tank?

Interested to know how your tiger pyge will react your new wrasse.
Ah he doesn’t have any fire power and is waaay to far to chase for too long 😅
