Nagykanizsa is a town in Hungary, relatively near Balaton lake. It is traditionally a crossroads town, lying at the meeting point of five important trading routes and connecting Adriatic, Pannonian and Alpine regions.
In the Middle Ages, Nagykanizsa became one of the most important strongholds of the Hungarian Kingdom. The fortress had a significant role in the Hungarian southern defensive line, guarding the kingdom against attacks by the Ottoman Empire. The 19th century was especially prosperous period for Nagykanizsa brought on by construction of a railway line which connected Nagykanizsa with Vienna, Budapest and Rijeka. Industrial and economical boom period soon followed.
Nagykanizsa is a really pleasant town with great location close to both Slovenian and Croatian borders. Within easy reach you can find Balaton lake, Adriatic sea and both beautiful old ladies Budapest and Vienna.

Hát...18 éve elköltöztem onnan...25 év után. A belvárost szépen kicicázták, le a kalappal, de a város egy szépen rendben tartott temetője saját múltjának. Részvétem!

@@OK-de8vi Nem értem...én magyarul írok...naponta tapasztalom, hogy nem értik az irodalmian tiszta soraim tartalmát...Ha ismered a város múltját, akkor tudhatnád, hogy csak visszafejlődik, miközben ki van szépen pingálva..a közepe...tehát a látszat csal.
