BOOM! Waffles, that is absolute genius, I love it. Great little build 👍 Loving the videos because you present them so well in such a calm and informative manner. Not like a lot of TH-camrs who present their videos in a falsely enthusiastic and overwrought style, they're like TV adverts, shouty and attention grabbing. Keep up the great work 👍
I do this simple way of throwing a crawler together myself on a budget typically brushed is cheaper crawling but the Mercedes is not where I thought this video was going but its great 🔥
Little tip from one cheap truck builder to another: try buying the link sets with plastic rod ends, yeah they wear out but 15 bucks to buy a new set once in a while is negligible, especially once you see how much shake and wobble is eliminated, metal rod ends are a false economy imo, as they make your axles unstable. Keep up the great work dude 👍
that's awesome. brings back some great memories seeing lifted Corvettes, Cadillac Coupe Devilles , Mustangs and Camaros, Ford Pintos, Chevettes, Monte Carlos. I'm from Ohio.
One of the guys I had auto shop class in high school owned a station wagon on a half ton 4wd truck chassis, and I have seen several El Caminos on blazer frames. So this set up looks good to me.
Putting "class" into RC is great and I loved it. What you showed made me want to do this as well. I checked your list, and it would seem that I need to change my Country. Amazon seems to be willing to export the gearbox, rims and some other parts but not the tires, or motor and a few other items, so we still seems to be blocked in South Africa. And the delivery & Tax are more than the price of the parts. Exchange rate = $1 to 18.8 Zar. This will remain a dream, Thanks for that.
Back in the TLT axle days I spent many and hour bending 1/2 inch square tube and wire feed welding chassis & even more time bending & brazing brake lines. Now that I’m older and lazier, I mostly go the route you do in this video. eBay makes it too easy. Awesome vid as usual.
Bro this thing is bad ass!!!! Great video covering step by step. I have a ton of parts and have been going through and piecing them together into chassis and running rigs. Keep it up bro
Great choice on the body! You just made me want that body to build a comp rig out of it haha! Great build! Questions brother I am auto body tech have been 20 some years! I keep looking at your snap on box,, are you in the industry,, mechanic ,,Auto body tech,, fabricator! But anyways lov e what ya doing 😊
Thank you very much!! I used to build off road vehicles at a shop where that was all we did. Which is why I build my RCs "different" than most in the RC world do.
That is very rad OMG. Great work just offer that people can run 3 gear center mounted trans and have zero servo interference mounting SOA or 3link. Also you don’t but they can oil fill the shock absorbers also. This is amazing 🤦♂️ I have too many and this is my favorite. Now I kind of want an el-Camino body that I had on a team Losi LST2 back in 07’. Great job dude seriously!!! And it’s brand new!!
Love the body 😂 I'm just building an all after market carbon fiber low cg crawler with a proline baja bug body looking to do a hippy paint job with heavy metal flake
That body looks amazing 💯🔥 very useful video for newcomers into the hobby only downside I see is that servo and motor hitting and that’s that you build with long shocks, would be even worse with shorter shocks, I think the traditional 3 gear transmission would be better, another question is how do the aftermarket axles hold up, and can you source replacement parts if they break from bashing
I think it was about 500 all in. I know its not cheap by any means, but my justification is not spending 500 on one frome a store, then doing upgrades.
Where the heck did you find that body it's awesome! great vid thanks for sharing . P.s. helps if you check the links before asking dumb questions😂 thanks
I am a newbie at RCs. I bought an MN82 and modded it. But in this build I haven't seen the ESC, but mine have an ESC. Someone educate me, please. Thank you!
@@WafflesRC-pb4ntvery impressed… sounds like a possible yearly contest between TH-cam rc crawlers. $400 crawler build competition. Maybe a “iroc series” type bracket contest. Build and compete nearly identical rigs.
Shocks are old-school style, but doesn't increase its capability.. you do you. Because of portals, it's more common to use short 80mm shocks , to lower center of gravity not raise it.
It’s a cool idea But over 500 for knock off parts to make a rc truck/car? I guess all in good fun would justify this. Love the channel Keep fabricated cool stuff.
Brother, I luv your motivation for builds and everything but all of your geometries are way off for performing or smooth running..... You have to show, Or at least mention all of the geometries in your builds that are destined to have lots of problems. I Like you and your channel, just show more knowledge and pride in teaching the right way to build. Most people want a performer, Not a noisy wobbley monster truck that just looks OK.
Jeremy Clarkson would agree with all three 😂. Absolutely brilliant and love it. Thanks for adding the Amazon list 👍👍👍

Nice job on this build. It looks super nice with the Mercedes body. The headlights look super. Awesome 👍🏆
I do this simple way of throwing a crawler together myself on a budget typically brushed is cheaper crawling but the Mercedes is not where I thought this video was going but its great
🔥
Just getting interested in crawlers. I appreciate your explanations for the uninitiated such as myself.
Love it. Nothing better than an old Merc to do some crawling in.

The slop is undesirable with those metal ends. Good point bro!
that's awesome. brings back some great memories seeing lifted Corvettes, Cadillac Coupe Devilles , Mustangs and Camaros, Ford Pintos, Chevettes, Monte Carlos. I'm from Ohio.
Well now I have more ideas for different bodies to look for hahaha... thank you!!!
Finally Saturday I can watch waffles😂 looks like it’s gonna be a great one judging by the latest instagram post!!!!
Thank you for following on both!!!
Thank you for the shopping list with links. I appreciate all the effort in creating this video. Fantastic build video.
This RC made me smile. It made me laugh. It is AWSOME!!!
Holy Poop, absolutely hilarious and awesome. Love the body. Keep the content coming. Look forward to your videos every week.. Awesome !!!
Awesome rig! It's like the Morvair from Matt's Off Road Recovery.
I like that you like what you like, and you know you have picked a peculiar hill. Cheers
Hey, thanks.
To you and your builds made me want to build a metal cage around my crawler love your vids
That thing is sweet looking 👍😎
That's awesome. Keep up the good work. Waiting for you to make a buggy
Doing this soon, just trying to decide on the chassis. I want an angled skid though, I have 2 trucks with a flat one.
lol love it !!!! awesome video man!!!
This build is so cool!!!!
Best crawler body ever!!! I laughed so hard and then considered building one myself

A TOUCH OF CLASS

Awesome dude! I'm currently building a LCG crawler with a BMW e30 touring body. 😂❤
Love it, thats the perfect body now I need to build one as well lol

I absolutely love the body....was not expecting it, however it looks sharp!!!
I'm always amazed at your builds even if u dont do no fab work ..great video man as usual
Thank you very much!!!
Another great video , love the Mercedes , I would never have thought about that , please keep up the great videos, can't wait for the next one
😂 love the body!! I'd never thought you'd do that but it's great!!
Love it! So fun!
I filled my Amazon cart with your suggestions. Gonna make a 6x6 power wagon💪🏻
Oh that's funny and awesome all at the same time
I welded straight to the steel chassis rails of the scx10iii basecamp.
Such a cool body choice
Bro this thing is bad ass!!!! Great video covering step by step. I have a ton of parts and have been going through and piecing them together into chassis and running rigs. Keep it up bro
Pardon me, but do you have any Grey Poupon? I'm not sure if you remember that commercial, 😂😂 I like it.
I wanted to add that soo bad, but I forgot to get some from the store haha
Thanks for this video great job , I guess I am missing a few things 😂😂😂😂😂😂 .... Can't wait for the next one already 😁😁😁😁💪🙌👍

Dude... Great work, and builds. Thank you for sharing with Us.
You have a Bob Newhart Humor Bro... I dig it with my coffee.

Thanks for the nice list. This will save so much time. Do you have a link to the locking wheel nuts? Love the SEL Body haha

Sorry I forgot to put that on the list.
Love it you nailed it right on the head
Great job as always! Thanks for sharing! Hope you keep growing!
Thank you very much!!!
Cool build thanks for showing 🫡
Yes yes yes that is very awesome and dude u are such a character lol i love it great choice
That is to funny love it you got a great since of humor

Awesome video love the body nice choice 👍
Man I dig it... Awesome ride
Love it
#300SEL coolest mercedes crawler!
Awesome looks Great. I like it.
Great video! I heard that all brushed motors are waterproof...
I believe motors usually are, it the ESCs that aren't all waterproof. I have been wrong before though haha
@WafflesRC-pb4nt you're 100% right! Dude I've been binging your channel all day!
That's so awesome!!! I'm very glad you like them!!
Cool tutorial video💪😁

You need to take them back apart and check the axel shafts at the portal housing. Alot 9f the axel have a washer instead of a bearing on the axel
Absolutely love that body on that RC, perfect!
Clean up pretty good 👍👍 love the body you chose 😍💪💪💪💪💪👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Iceman!!!
That's hilarious!! 🤣🤣
Hey, I think you needs to build a king of the hammers rig with a 2 speed, low high speed
Well do I have a suprise for you coming up soon 😎
Yes! You Classy guy! What was the cost for all the parts?
I think it was about 500 all in. I know its not cheap by any means, but my justification is not spending 500 on one frome a store, then doing upgrades.
Love the body absolutely awsome
I loved the video and the way you explained everything. But where did you order your driveshafts from
I get them from Amazon. Since my frames are all custom, I just measure my length and get the mid price range ones.
That’s awesome lol!
Where the heck did you find that body it's awesome! great vid thanks for sharing . P.s. helps if you check the links before asking dumb questions😂 thanks
I got it from Amain Hobby website
@@WafflesRC-pb4nt
Thanks I should check the links better before commenting ☺️
No worries. I admit there was a lot of links for that build.
I go to yard sales and look for toys and use the body's from them
Pardon me good sir, but do you happen to have any Grey Poupon? 😂 Great build!
It almost made it in but I forgot to get some haha
Cool
Where’d you get the body? Looks awesome man!
Thank you very much! I got the body off of Amain Hobbys website.
I wish i could build one but lost use of my left hand due to a stroke
Now THAT was a surprise body 😁🍻
I am a newbie at RCs. I bought an MN82 and modded it. But in this build I haven't seen the ESC, but mine have an ESC. Someone educate me, please. Thank you!
So the ESC is in the motor. It's a 2 in 1 combo. I like them for simplicity and compact size.
Never saw what the cost was for all the parts....
Any idea what you spent?
For this, I believe it was around $450. You could still go cheaper if you wanted honestly with less options and still cheaper parts

Did I beat her lmao 😂😂😂😂😂
Lol!!!! You win this week. 😂😂😂
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Without Body and light kit it sums up to around 540 $.
Great looking body!
It’s a cool idea

Hobbywing makes the Spektrum motors. So it's cheaper just to go with Hobbywing then pay for the Spektrum name
