I too saw the bees bump each other in slow-mo. My children loved watching the danger and excitement of bee removal without the danger and excitement of bee stings.

robber bees are neighborhood bees that steal honey from other hives! During end of Summer it gets really bad because there aren't enough flowers to get nectar from so they show up in thousands when we open up a hive! Not good as bees will start fighting to protect their hive.

I hear ya. Climbing down is worse than climbing up. When you're standing on top of the roof, don't look up especially when there are moving clouds.

I’m not good with heights to a certain aspect. Three stories and down I’m terrified of because if I fall, I’m gonna survive but any higher doesn’t bother me. Weird huh?
I like bees I have them in my yard all season. I just like flowers so they’re attracted to them.
And yes, I think the hive was A little aggressive. But not too bad.
And thank you for letting us tagalong as you work. Bees are very important to the circle of life. If we don’t have pollinators like bees, then we don’t eat so thank you for everything you do. Kathy.

Very curious about the honey taste. You mentioned the area having good tasting honey. I am in Florida near the Indian River Lagoon. The most popular local honey is orange blossom. This area was home to many orchards. We have lost majority of orchards to development and greening disease. What pollen flavors the San Diego area. Love that you are a bee rescue not an exterminator.
This combine two of my worst phobias. Hight an flying stinging insects. 😬🥶.
I could even with the protective suit do this kind of job. Just one bee is enough for me to to panic. (i know i should not panic. It only makes it wors)

We don't like them. Our beekeepers tell us our bees look so much healthier vs the guys who use vacuums so we prefer to do everything by hand 🧡🐝

Interesting video, a little surprising just using a cardboard box vice a nuc where you could have put the comb. But good video on the removal! Definitely afraid of heights, but I love bees!
Thank you!! We do an average of 25 rescues a week and we donate all of our bees so we wouldn't get those nucs back in time to keep up with our demand 🧡🐝

If I saw any of my beekeepers do a job like this they would be terminated immediately. You need a real box. Cardboard or plastic nuc ideally. You can't save any of the babies in a cardboard box like that, and tons of bees will escape by the time you reach your destination.
When doing chimneys pop an inflatable in there. Preferably a beach ball. That way you don't dump anything into the clients home.
Grabbing the queen with honey soaked gloves is a great way to kill her. Your suit has a pocket in the chest. Use it for your queen clip. Grab her directly with the clip so you don't hurt her, or take off your gloves.
I don’t blame the bees for moving in there though...

What do you do with the comb? Why aren't you putting it into frames? Why are you putting the bees into a box and not a hive?? What do you do with the bees afterwards? Sorry...lots of questions! Lol

I was holding my breath when the box was balanced on the corner. If that had been me i would have without doubt(accidentally) knocked it off sending the box and bees to the ground. You didn't show us but maybe you had taped it or clipped it securely to prevent that happening

This is awesome! I bet that honey tastes amazing. I’m a little cautious around heights, but nothing too bad. Do you guys keep your own beehives? Also, do you have any tips for people that want to become beekeepers, but don’t have any experience?
We have a few beehives of our own, but we donate all of our bees to local beekeepers! Take a beekeeping class! There are online courses you can take if you cannot find an in person class near you :)
