I think there’s a respect there deep down but Simon Jordan failed at being a football owner and now thinks he knows boxing as Eddie rightly said. You can see and hear how jealous of Eddie, Simon is that he cannot fumble the most successful boxing promotor of the last 10 years by giving his own opinion which actually comes across as personal more than factual and thinks it’s the truth but then tries to pass it off as common sense.

It’s actually really, really simple to understand what Hearn is saying here. He has clauses in his fighters contracts, based on if they’ve been sanctioned. Simon doesn’t seem to understand this very basic contractual situation at all, but when it finally sinks in he says to Hearn ‘but didn’t you have a moral choice’ and Hearn smacks him with the ‘no, we had a LEGAL choice’ ..for someone who claims to understand businesses and contracts, he seems to struggle with the basics. No wonder he’s a full time disc jockey, which successful entrepreneur works full time in radio?
Would Hearn not have a clause in the contract about failing drug tests? This would seem pretty basic in the world of sports, no?

@@videolad3057 not for moral reasons, I'm more thinking in the lines of a fighter that is being promoted is making them look bad and the promotor wants out, they must have something in the contract allowing them to get out of it for the instances when they may want to use that loophole.

So if a boxer was on all the doping under the sun and you found out about it (as their promotor) but somehow passed the tests (maybe they have a way of cheating the test that maybe you are also aware of) you would still have to put the fight on because bbboc haven't told you not to?!? What you've said doesn't make any sense. What Hearn knows about his boxers drug taking is irrelevant. All that matters is whether they pass or fail a test. If they pass, Hearn has no legal basis not to put the fight on. If he tried to cancel the fight on some moral grounds, the fighter would sue him.
