Billy Sharp shown himself to be an absolute twat there. Wrexham are a non league club and absolutely rattled a team that will be in the Premier League next year and of course they were excited to get Spurs potentially in the next round, that’d be the biggest game in the career of most of them Wrexham players if they got there

Agree...apparently he had good reasons to be angry BUT you should make sure you win, stay quiet and take the high moral ground. It's only Wrexham so shouldn't really register. Another point is that Parkinson has a lot of history with Billy Sharp when PP was managing Bradford and Bolton.

Always tough when you've got refs who are clearly biased towards one team - the ref might as well have been wearing a Wrexham shirt. The ref didn't give United players any protection, and Mullin ended up injuring himself fouling Berge.

Thought Simon was out of order when he said Sharp and McBurnie had a lot of say in their alterations with the Forest fans. Sharp was physically attacked (head butted) by a fan on the pitch and McBurnie was accused of stamping on a Forest fan, again illegally on the pitch whilst at the time McBurnie was on crutches with a pot on his leg.
And Billy deserved the head but just wish the fan followed up with a volley

Of course everyone wanted Wrexham to win and Billy gave you all something to latch on to. Let's not discuss the appalling officiating, the lack of VAR in some games and not others, Mullin's acrobatics (although I agree he's a good solid player), the match stats.... let's forget all that and focus on what Billy said. That's football. Wrexham did excellent - he even said that but let's just stop being snowflake's and accept the result. No-one cared when the Forest fans were disrespectful to SUFC but we're not bitter. We still want them to do well in the Prem. It happens and anyone who's followed football for a long time has 100% heard far worse. It's just a passionate game and Sheff United are a passionate team. That's why we love it!

I'm a Sheff Utd fan so naturally I'll have a bias. But one thing I would say is do we want robots or do we want a bit of emotion/passion in interviews and in football as a whole. I'm all for the latter, clearly Billy was pumped and it came out just after the match too. These things make football more interesting in my view. Well played Wrexham, they were a credit to the Conference, although not so sure they're a Conference team to be honest with their budget. They can definitely have realistic aims at the Championship minimum. Onwards to the Spurs match, that will be tough but like Wrexham are priorities are getting promoted.
Show at least a little bit of class. You can talk tough, but this just makes him look like a loser. And then bricking a bus with kids on it, made this so much worse. It's 2023 not 1973. I hope the FA starts to take these things seriously, and begin to deduct points from teams. You have such a chance right now to grow the game to incredible levels, to help all teams. How can Simon talk about Billy Sharp’s behavior last year at Forest when he’s literally been assaulted from behind? What a ridiculous argument. Sharp felt Wrexham disrespected them with that tweet and the behavior of their players whilst praising their team and wishing them well in their league, Jim and Simon only talked about the first part.
The assault was shameful, it should never had happened. Your right! But what Simon is talking about, is goading of Forest fans behind the dugout during the match by a number of players including Mr Sharp, witnessed by members of the press.

I know fans of other clubs dislike the coverage Wrexham have been getting. Especially if your club is performing really well and looking to get promoted. I think you're missing the bigger story here, where Wrexham's documentary is growing the game globally. Could also see other 'hollywood elites' try to buy non-league teams and help do the same.. in the end, it's all going to be good for the game of football.
why do you think hollywood elites buying clubs is "good for football"? its good for the club they buy. maybe. until they lose interest, or possibly just get it wrong. not all big money splurges at football clubs result in success. the wrexham doc isn't growing the game gloabally, its growing wrexham.

SW should have sealed this the first game and they didn't so I am not sure why he wants to pound his chest and then blame the ref. Was the first penalty questionable, yes but it was looked at. The second was about the stupidest move a defender, a CHAMPIONSHIP, defender can make. You expect that from u15 kids. So the fact they didn't put Wrexham away, a national league club, in the first game is madness. I will say this, based on this game alone, if both teams get promoted, Wrexham are going to truck league 2 and SW are going to get slaughtered in the PL.

Wrexham have been known for being cocky throughout this competition and I personally think it smacks of disrespect. I remember one of there players saying they were disappointed as they had only drawn Coventry City and that the match would be a walkover and that Coventry aren't that big of a team and easy to beat etc. It seams like they've done a similar thing to Sheffield United. Wrexham are the Manchester City of non-league right now spending more money than any other non-league team and acting like the bees knees. I've seen arguments in the comments that this brand will encourage more investment in non-league but that is rubbish as why would Southend United, Scunthorpe United and Oldham Athletic all be on the verge of going out of business (I know with Scunthorpe they were recently brought but the point remains) and no hollywood people were looking at these clubs. It's also damaged the eco-system of non-league meaning those that are naturally trying to progress are hampered by these financial super powers coming through it's the same with Forest Green Rovers, Salford City and AFC Fylde. This is why Wrexham are disliked amongst non-league supporters partly through jealousy but also through a feeling of being economically ruined as less investment from above will come if it's seen that any hollywood person could just buy the club.
All 3 teams you mentioned about nearly going bust were in trouble before they came to non-league they've had poor ownerships for years(swann gambling scunthorpe away etc), literally nothing to do with Wrexham.
A lot of teams in the national league also have their highest home attendance this season against Wrexham (e.g Altrincham facing Wrexham at home drew nearly 1500 more fans than any other game this season, while also being on BT sport ) which is actually a big financial gain for clubs at that level .

Billy Sharp has always behaved this way. I remember him playing for Southampton at our place in the Championship about 11 years ago when he was diving all over the place and trying to wind up our players.

Don’t see what was wrong with Billy’s comments. He gave Wrexham credit for how they played, but didn’t like the way the club thought they were already in the next round. Yes, it took two games to get past them, but this was like a cup final for them, it was never going to be easy. You’ve also got to remember Sharp is a Blades fan and is passionate. He even said in the interview he may have lost his head.
It was a backhanded compliment. But i will say this there was no disrespect from the Wrexham players so them comments about that were strange and needless.

Much prefer this kind of interview to the media trained nothing burger statements. With that said, the condescending nature of Sharp's words isn't ideal.
