I love Justin's lessons,I have only been playing 2 months and songs like these are far to advanced for me at present, but watching videos like this makes me want it even more.people criticising Justin's lessons, get your guitar out camera out and let's see what you guys can do!
No, I know you did this nine years ago but I gotta say Brother) from across the phone. You’re one of the better lesson guides that I’ve come across. Hope you’re doing well brother I appreciate you. Anything else that I find I hope it’s as good of a teaching as this one is. Or as they say, “LESSON LEARNED “God Bless ,From Me and Mine ,to You and Yours ..Thanks brother ..keep up the great work …
I love all of Justin's videos because he plays the entire tutorial song at the beginning of the video without the all the talking that other tutorials do!
i must admit, i miss playing the guitar. sure was fun and it created a central focus. nowi'm in my 60's and think about the good old days and playing in bands and listening to records and trying to learn the songs note for note.all we had was cassette tapes we were full of hope and energy then.
Love all of your tutorials. Especially love the beginning of this one because you get lost in the song and then seem to remember that you have a lesson to give (happens at the 1:35 mark). Makes me laugh every time.
Play the c# d on the 3rd. string, play the e on the 5th string with middle finger and c# d with the 2nd & 4th finger respectively. You can do it all in the 7th pos. without the big stretch.
thanks for tutorial got it down perfect including lead riffs, back in 67 or 68 I was walking down a main street on long island, a large crowd of people was there and a band was playing this song I stood and watched them, little did I know it was Steppenwolf, loved his Rickenbacker but I wound up with 1966 strat. same color and fretboard as yours.
Thanks man, you're a great teacher and thanks for sharing your enthusiasm, great guitar lesson! The first riffs on the song are quite a stretch though.
***** Oh no, believe me, if you want to sound good you need precision, speed and muscle memory, sure, you can play some easy D C G rythm, but just try doing the solo from Burn of Deep purple, and you understand that knowing how to play and mastering a guitar are 2 completely different things.
Hello Justin. I'm writing from France. Very very nice demonstration. Absolute mastery. You play it with great precision. Lol i don't understand all that you say but what I see is enough for me ! Thanks a lot Justin
thax Justin I haven't played this in a while but the band wants to do it and you've refresht my memory I can all ways trust you with chord's an tab again thank you
Awesome video lesson Justin! Thanks so much. On lick 3 (around the 10 minute mark in your vid) I'm hearing a pull off on that last fretted note (from string 2, fret 3 pulling off to an open B) when I listen to the original recording. This makes the last 4 notes of the lick all 16th-notes and gives me just enough time to use my second finger for that last pull-off and still get back to the G chord
Thanks for the great lesson...I play drums and bass professionally but joined my first band as a guitar player. You save hours on studying the part. I would recommend anyone to your lesson program :-)
Came back to hear it again ( and a tune up lesson for me for all the little bits I was getting sloppy about ) ... man, you were totally in the Zone ... NICE !!!!
Another EXTREMELY well made lesson, in every detail. I owe you so much, Justin. Thank you for giving me the chance to be a better guitarist and play this songs I love SO much. Thank you, man, you are just the best.
Well done Justin, you just know how to capture a song. I came across this lesson on the day I unpacked my first guitar. I'll keep chipping away until I can keep up with you on this one. Hopefully it won't take as long as it has taken so far. Thank you Justin.
Very cool. I'm an old guy into classic rock and this is about as classic as it gets. As a gesture of my gratitude, I would like to contribute to a fund to buy you a new sofa.
Hi, great lesson, wanted to know are those Kinman pickups on your Strat? I have a Strat with Kinmans, it had Lace pickups before I got it, would you change back? Would have asked on your site but page not up yet. Keep up the good work.
Hey how r u doing? you ask us - we re totally knocked out by your playing! i didint know one guitar and practice amp could cause so much damage - AMAZING
2:00 riff 1 (intro)
5:24 riff 2 (verses)
7:00 riff 3 (pre-chorus - easy version)
8:25 riff 3 (the whole thing)
11:04 riff 4 (sort of pre-chorus)
13:34 riff 5 ("actual" chorus)
14:32 riff 6 (organ solo)
16:26 riff 7 (the screaming one, shall we say)
Songs like this stand the test of time because the rhythm and feel are soooo good!!!
Rockout !! Thanks for the lesson.

That's one monster song .Whoever came up with it was genius. One of my favorites.
People say Einstein was a genius. I say the man who came up with this song was a genius!
Have to agree with you.BTBW came out my sr. year of h.s. Best song to play when cruising around town. Definitely raised T-levels.

Agreed! Not only does Justin have quality instruments but as we all know; instruments or not, great sound comes from talented hands.
I love all of Justin's videos because he plays the entire tutorial song at the beginning of the video without the all the talking that other tutorials do!

I've come back go try to learn this song so many times, hoping this is the real thing this time. You're awesome man!
Justin,
We can't even talk to you now after
playing such a scorching, kick ass
version of that tune. That was wild!
Inspired playing!
Love all of your tutorials. Especially love the beginning of this one because you get lost in the song and then seem to remember that you have a lesson to give (happens at the 1:35 mark). Makes me laugh every time.
That first stretch is like some sort of medieval torture technique.
I looked then i left
After trying to stretch those first chords..., now my dr. said I m permanently disabled to play guitar again ;))

@@stivi739 Man, I am glad to see I am not the only one having trouble with the stretch.

Great lesson. The biggest part is to explain clearly, slowly, and keeping the beat. You do that just an amazingly way. Thanks a lot.
You make me hearable as player... love you for that and for how you are and thank you so much my teacher
Thanks man, you're a great teacher and thanks for sharing your enthusiasm, great guitar lesson! The first riffs on the song are quite a stretch though.
I've got zero musical ability. But watching this makes me want to go out, buy an electric guitar and start learning how to play.
***** Do it!
***** you wont regret it :D
***** ability dosnt really mater anyone can play guitar, you cna sound great without being "great"
\

right but you don't need any of that initially you learn it and repetition basically takes care of it
"Hey how you doin"😁. That cheeky grin after nailing the solo says it all
That's a great honor, lots of people love the music he made.
Cheers mate! ;)
he has superhuman guitar skills [and i agree with andrew on the strech]
