You could totally size down to a 6M. I have the 8m and 6M strike and that board. With the 8m you’re having to bleed off a lot of wind. With the 6M you’ll be able to bring from an overhead horizontal position to a more vertical position. In the vertical position you’ll be able generate apparent wind and go upwind better. Give it a try.

That would be amazing. I'm still struggling to get upwind nicely. But a 5m wing felt too small (at my beginner stage). Thanks for the tip.
