I can't believe this got scrapped. This is ridiculously awesome!! Now the new Phase 2 will compete with this work as well as the original Last Breath. I wish them a successful re-work.
this is honestly extremely sad. i think this is really cool and i admire the effort that was put into this, because there's a whole lot of it. while there's definitely some issues, it didn't deserve being 100% scrapped, in my opinion. still, i hope things go better from now on for last breath!
Amazing honestly, I also love how the way it seems to look is something i've been imagining as a concept for ages, where instead of sans just being a mindless puppet the whole fight, from what I can tell with the eyes, he pops in every now and again and has his share of throwing attacks, and its more of teamwork between the 2 than it just being gaster having a go at you and going crazy, I love that kinda idea and if that's what you were going for you did it really well and I adore it, very well made and I believe that this really could've been something epic if it were not scrapped
It looks really good imo (even tho it’s unfinished) I think the reason people didn’t like it was the vocal section of the music (which I don’t like either) and the fact that they wanted the old phase 2 back

[TLDR, I like the concept, and I shared some feedback] I think overall, this phase 2 was pretty good, and it's sorta sad to see more stuff get scrapped (but it's understandable due to... circumstances). Still will provide some thoughts and feedback for the future of the game. Music wise, the phonk part was okay (it's whatever), but I _really_ wasn't a big fan of the vocals. It's supposed to be an encounter with a mysterious character, but the lyrics... didn't compliment that well enough. I felt like if there were going to be lyrics, they should be a _lot_ more cryptic (like the secret vocals in Deltarune's "BIG SHOT"). Now, the whole phase situation. Ngl, I still think there should be 3 phases (others feel the same sediment). Of course, the original 3 phases made no sense since there is no way Sans can survive that long while being hurt for 2 phases. But what if you swap the block and dodge concepts between og phases 1 and 2? You would think Sans would've thought to block attacks in the first place if he learned that dodging was going to wear him out quickly. Maybe a new phase 1 could have Sans block attacks, as well as him trying to get more out of doing less (Basically attacks that are still strong but canonically wouldn't make Sans work as hard). Then maybe a new phase 2 is where Sans gets more desperate and starts going back to dodging and using more intense attacks. I feel like in the original phase 2, and this scrapped phase 2, both just throw new mechanics such as screen rotation/flipping (and color inversion in this video) without warming you up to it. Maybe a new phase 2 would be the perfect place where it can show that stuff a little. And og phase 3/scrapped phase 2 (the gaster possession) is still perfect. I think a lot of people are happy about that. If you took the time reading this, thank you! I just had some ideas floating around, plus I like Last Breath as a concept.
This is wonderful. I especially liked the moments with the crackling of the skull and the black hole, but i thought that Sans would sing. I am sad that it will be scrapped. But, if this version is cool, just imagine what an amazing new version will be. I am very glad that you, Last Breath Team, are creating not for people, but for yourself. We all believe in you
i always interpret what sans is doing at 2:41 to be sans reforming gaster in someway, before the phonk part where gaster appears. probably doesnt make that much sense, but eh pretty solid phase 2 id say, does need some balancing, and the lyrics are.. the lyrics but its pretty good, excited to see the next phase 2 :3
Ok ngl this has a lot of problems but it’s honestly still mostly good, definitely not scrap worthy but if you and the team know you can do better than go ahead, ultimately knowing what you know now with the criticism it will result in a project you feel even more proud of.
Visually great, the sound design is amazing and the music is good I wish this was finished and released I hope for the best for you and your teams future projects

Idk if you don’t agree but there are seriously million better ideas than can make this battle phase better (but went with the basics) Example: Add lyrics The final part of it can have that animated gaster background and glitches Don’t go with too much blaster spam halfway maybe Make gaster more menacing (by looks and attacks) Give sans some dialogue in the intro… The list goes on
