    I just changed mine without even jacking up the car. I went under to find the plug, put the pan under and was like "Why not".

    I have a 2006 elantra and it sat in my driveway since before covid. So today I get it all cleaned up and new battery, oil change, brakes, air filter etc. I didn't check tranny fluid tho. So the car starts up idles great yet won't get out of park. I'm assuming it's my trammy fluid being dried up, so I watched your video and it's very informative o. How to change the fluid. I'll give and update when I do it tomorrow 4/23.

    What will happen if the automatic transmission is over filled?

    • @EpicHelp
      @EpicHelp  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Too much ATF fluid will lead to extra pressure in the system which causes leaks and excessive transmission wear, then eventually transmission failure.

    How many quarts does it need when completely empty the manual doesn’t say

    • @EpicHelp
      @EpicHelp  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mention the total quarts at 1:52. You will probably only be able to get about 4 quarts out.

      When was the last time this fluid was changed?
      Here's what I found online about this issue:
      If you hear a humming noise in all gears, you may be dealing with a worn or damaged shaft or bearing.

    Aren’t you suppose use ATF SP4 not 3?

    • @EpicHelp
      @EpicHelp  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's SP3 for these vehicle years. I think it was around 2011 they changed to SP4, but don't quote me. Always check your vehicle owners manual for ATF specs.

      @@EpicHelp Hyundai told me that just as SP-III can be used in an older Elantra requiring SP-II, SP-IV can be used in Elantras requiring SP-III. They said it is the same formula, but improved. Of course the manual will say SP-III only since SP-IV wasn't here yet. Don't quote me as this what the dealer explained to me.

    • @EpicHelp
      @EpicHelp  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Florida Mark, this is good information to know. In the video I show that I use Valvoline ATF fluid that covers both SP-III and SP-IV. I've used Valvoline ATF fluid for years with no issues.
