Weird that you stop by yowyn, that's where i found my ride... no no no, not the carbuncle or the mighty yowyn horse but a certain innocent someone... Yes, that creature has good mount aptitude, don't ask me why.
Also you forgot to mention broomification spell which you can use to increase your mount speed by +45 (it can lasts forever as long as you mount the ride) in exchange for -10 endurance and -10 fire resistance to the mount

I removed my rant about how I also hate this fact. I would much prefer to run a lone wolf perks build. But for the max benefit you need 7 Ally slots and 3 ranks in lone soul. It's made even less of an option because early investments barely move the speed needle. Given the choice id run solo forever

Genuine question, is there a point to feed your mount and parasite EXCLUDING stat generating food? Because my parasite (Older Younger Sister from Mysilia) have a regeneration problem cause she always starving thus i need to feed her junk food consistently. Does that, like, a good action or just wasting food?

As long as they have food in their inventory they can naturally heal. Spellcasting and mana Regen are also affected pretty negatively if they're starving.

Question: Assuming I have high speed with my mount, will that affect my travel time in the world map? From Meadow it takes roughly two days to get to Mysilia by foot. Is that somehow gonna be faster if I have a fast horse and good riding?

    • @tylerulfmann4586
      @tylerulfmann4586 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah
If your Mount has a speed up higher then your character
And the ride skill is high enough you will get a higher speed which will make you ride faster on the world map
The same applies if you worship the wind god
Fun fact if you also look up elin holidays you can get conversion books and if you give those to your followers specifically the one your riding
It will provide benefits from my testing though usually you’ll just inherit about half the difference with speed buffs typically falling off and struggle significantly to get over 200 unless your a witch/fairy

    • @tylerulfmann4586
      @tylerulfmann4586 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

Also should state the speed stat that is the highest takes priority so you can’t double dip following the wind goddess and having a follower being rode
Witches get broomification which while witches are under cooked provides a +45 speed enhancement for your Mount that is effected
This can stack as an additive to the followers total speed with the faith funnily enough

And big horses take 20-30 so a while
The video describes having the party member taking strength up so that could probably help significantly
But I usually find it takes about a year or 2 in game to start getting what you want with occasional platinum investment similar to weightlifting

In my last play, I happened to have both a Horse and Caladrius as summon animals, and I can't Ride either of them.
What's a good mount? This video mentions Yowyn Horse, but can I use the Little Girl companion? Wiki says Rorans have Good mount aptitude, though it does looks weird they transform into ponies when riding. Or should I just headcanon into thinking I'm being piggybacked by the Little Girl into battle?
And when I'm riding, can I always stay mounted? I mean, are there times when I need to dismount e.g. when I feed them or go into towns.
Also, what's symbiosis anyway? By the name I thought they're like a parasite or Venom that attaches to my body so I'm not getting the Skill. If it simply means they sit on top of my head then maybe I could get it.

@@b.heaven9234 summons aren't real. You need to either buy the animal or capture it with pokeballs (future vid). You can ride anything, lil g included and it's a common first ride. You never have to dismount. I guess you could do it to save on food while you do things in your base.

@@Rumplenutskn But Summons are permanent until they die, right? They just can't interact with me like other companions?
When I was riding my Little Girl (..... 'kay I'll also use Lil G so it sounds less sus) I barely get any speed boost. I suppose that's where skilling up my Riding and my mount's Strength comes in? I started as a Farmer so I do have innate Riding skill but I barely touched it because I don't feel the benefits.
I'll try buying the Yowyn horse and train it up. I really could use the speed. I abandoned my last play because I wasn't satisfied with my progress at 300 days, most of it just walking around the map town to town doing quests.
One more thing, can I ride my horse and bring along Lil G? Will companions slow down my map movement? Assuming I got Party animal for +1 Ally so I don't suffer Crowded state. Do walking companions slow me down in this game?

But what can Symbiosis do btw? Do they also attack? On that note, does everyone in the "totem pole" attack? I don't have a Lucky cat (I pray to Jure) so I suppose I could go green sis, but she's a thief so what's she gonna do?

They can cast magic and do ranged attacks. If enemies get close, they will melee - depending on their ai setting (yesterday I learned that flower girl only casts meteor).
But most importantly - they will get your speed (depending, just as you get speed from your mount) and won't die, unless you die.

Could you do one on higher level cooking? Like cheeses or the best recipes and how to get them.
The best strat I found so for lvling cooking so far is. 1. Have cauldron on you. 2 do farming quest in yown. 3. Instead of actually doing it turn a fuck ton of the vegtables into veggie soup for exp. This got me good till like lvl 20 cooking but I feel someone might know a more optimal way

Minor improvement: If you make a cutting board, you can make those into salad instead of soup. Cutting boards are much lighter than cauldrons, and of course don't require fuel.
Fishing might be better for ingredient farming (have a bonfire with you), since you can keep the good ones for yourself and friends. Fertilizer hammering should also be fine to powerlevel.
*In all cases, you can hammer the cooked item back into a raw one and re-cook it.* Hammering a fish meal gives a random fish, so you can technically use this to re-roll your fish. :P

FWIW, the recipes on the wiki that stand out to me most for endgame are stewed vegetable and giant shortcake.
Stewed vegetable takes 3 vegetables and an optional meat; the vegetables used here can be 3 different breeds of farmed mushroom giving 3 different potencies, and shrooms are the fastest growing crop, so this can be a reliable default food for a party of 9 without too much maintenance. It even uses up the meats dropped in combat.
Giant shortcake takes a massive 7 ingredients (fruit, fruit, grain, grain, sugar, sugar, seasoning), and 4 of these (the fruit & grain) have potencies improved by farming. Seasoning can be mushroom cheese/jerky which adds a 5th potency (or just fish flakes). From what I understand, the sugar is improved when using high-level flowers for your bees. So the stat buffs in the end should be *very* big. I'm specifically thinking of farming palulu and cacti for their other drops anyway (big leaf & bone needle), with blueberries as a fertility-cheap filler fruit.

On a related note, eating food scales the listed stats by its nutrition value, so you always want big food. The more things you can shove into one meal, the better.
There is also a funny trick I saw on Kessel's videos for stat leveling: eat food, drink booze until you vomit, and repeat. The stat bonuses of the food are applied at the moment eating ends, so you don't lose stat growth when you empty your stomach contents. That means you can make use of as much excess food as you have booze to go with it, making mushroom-based and fish-based foods great (specifically thinking of cazuela here, which can be made by fish+mushroom+flakes, or live sashimi from fish+fish+mushroom).
