Hola, my name is Carlos, I'm fron Costa Rica and I'm following from the begining. I like your work, the cabin is going to be great, and I love it. I like your daughter, she is very funny and sweet. I love her.
Wow! Costa Rica! Thanks for following! The cabin is going to be awesome. Dad has allll kinds of ideas up his sleeve. Thank you for the kind words about me. Take care! -Jennifer
Good morning Richard, looks like you had a productive day!! 👍👍 . Glad to see things moving forward for you. Looking forward to each video you share with us. Always enjoy watching your channel. Fred
A master craftsmen wastes little effort. You waste no effort. Such a joy to see this cabin come together. I’m curious how the joists will tie in. Eagerly anticipating to see in a future video.
Really enjoyed watching you sit and rest during your meal. I think that is one of the greatest joys in life.....hard work followed by a filling meal and rest!! 🍝
LIKE IT, GETTING STARTED ON THE ROOF OVER THE KITCHEN IS A SMART MOVE. ENJOY YOUR CHANNEL. I MISSED THE OPENING JOKES BY THE CHANNELS COMEDIAN‼️‼️😆😆. Thank You,. Vinny 🇺🇸
Hi there John dearden UK viewer Hi there matey you sure have one beautiful plot of land and it's still a pleasure to see you keeping it simple and really well thought out and put together excellent project 👍👍
I am a fairly new subscriber and want to let you know that what attracted me to your videos is that you don't talk a lot. You either explain what you are going to do then do it or you do it then explain what you have done. I like that!
he took a hammer and took that sharp point off the top of the screws you wouldn't have to pre-drill ahola cuz then it wouldn't split the wood it would mushroom through the wood instead of spearing through the wood
Stumbled across this- I’m getting my home ready to sell here in California and heading to Wyoming- hopefully by next summer. I got the courage to try and that’s good enough for me! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Alicia
I love your garden. You have tomatoes, bell peppers, looks like cabbage and lettuce. Maybe some herbs. Can't see it all but what I do see I like. That spaghetti looks good. Put some parmesan cheese on it. Makes it even better. Your place is coming alive with all the buildings coming up. Looks good. Do you own that land or did you buy some acres up on the mountain. It looks alive, like someone is living there. Stay safe.
Great video again. Are you going to use natural stone or cultured ? Can't wait to see, it's going to look awesome with stone work, most people don't do much for the skirting and they leave it, which doesn't make any sense when you put all that effort in the main structure. Cheers from Canada.
If I were 40 years younger, I would ask for your daughter's hand! Because it grabs and helps what is not a matter of course today. It is also fun and fun to have!
I’ve been enjoying your videos! They make me want to get up to my mountain land! I was wondering if you considered putting flashing or tar paper between the seal plate and block? I was always taught not to let un treated lumber touch masonry. I’m not trying to criticize just wondering if it’s really a concern? Keep the videos coming.
You should invest in a grain shovel, you could move 5times the sawdust with every scoop....also what are you using for the sill plate on the block wall to stop moisture wicking thru the concrete?
Really diggin' the southern rock/boogie-woogie as background filler while you work. But PUULLLEEEZE, would you oil the bushings in that brace and bit! (maiking me cringe)
Saw that old ugly gorrilla again this morning! Staying away from that damned mirror - A guy just wont learn! Things look great. Thanks for taking us on your adventure! Love the music!!! Best wishes from Perth Ontario.
@@SmokyMountainOutpost My experience has been that concrete will draw moisture away from the untreated wood and will rot the 2x4s. A foam barrier is highly recommended. :)
Hi there from Auckland NZ Well garden doing so well really great your tomatoes plants are so big! I do love the watching your channel the place looking so great! It is really neat your family can help when have the time! GOOD HAVE THE JOKES TOO! You may not think getting much of the concert dust but it blows right in your face and all you as over everything as you empty a bag! Please wear some type of mask and good eye wear ! Lots of water too! Inhaling high levels of dust may occur when you are empty bags of cement. ... Sanding, grinding, or cutting concrete can also release large amounts of dust containing high levels of crystalline silica. Prolonged or repeated exposure can lead to a disabling and often fatal lung disease called silicosis.
I wish I had consulted with you prior to your building of the rocket stove portion of your grill. The people I've researched usually place some sort of high temperature ceramic flue pipe or fire brick lining in the vertical combustion shaft to protect the concrete from the exceptionally high temperatures you encounter in the fire column. Without this protection, your concrete is subject to break. I hope yours is okay though
Loving your projects...I purchased a few acres on the west side of rich Mt...near old cc road...land is unrestricted raw timber. Did you have to get Blount county approval for your work ?
Love to see how you build. Great food. But my main interest in this channel is the building. I know you are eating well but please don't film it every video. Only my opinion. Got er dun
yeah got to admit I agree with Ed, the content is great, but its almost a commercial channel, most of the other similar channels I watch usually have one or two only, but I also know that's how you get paid

I thought about it. I may do it on the rest
Did you use treated on the bottom plate. Are you concerned about long term rot?
I am using black paper. I decided to burn them, so no worries. And this will be behind a rock wall
After some time, I try to remember to use my drill to help clean out the hole not in reverse.
Does the cabin ever get finished? More videos to come?
Absolutely. Stay tuned
You should invest in a grain shovel, you could move 5times the sawdust with every scoop....also what are you using for the sill plate on the block wall to stop moisture wicking thru the concrete?
I had not used anything
I'm with Mike on the sill plate, without a barrier, premature rot.
Good morning SMO coming right along with the cabin I was curious do you work for a FD or Ambulance service stay safe and God bless
Both
Really diggin' the southern rock/boogie-woogie as background filler while you work. But PUULLLEEEZE, would you oil the bushings in that brace and bit! (maiking me cringe)
Never noticed it. I’ll check it

What up Ted?
Just subscribed to your channel & it looks like a great project. One quick note: are you installing a barrier between those untreated 2x4s & concrete?
I haven’t. What do you think? It’s going to be in the vented crawl space behind the stone which I planned on putting a paper barrier between them.
@@SmokyMountainOutpost My experience has been that concrete will draw moisture away from the untreated wood and will rot the 2x4s. A foam barrier is highly recommended. :)
