I posted once on Twitter about how awesome it would be if they made a Black Templars MMO and you retweeted it. I love Warhammer 40k but I don't have time for the hobby. I know all about the lore. I played Space Marines but honestly there is no game currently that exists that does the 40K universe justice PERIOD!

I wanted to buy Horus Rising, but unfortunately I couldn't find a physical copy. So I told myself last month "you know I usually listen to videos when I am gaming, so why not try audiobooks". Here is my list so far (in order I listened): - Helsreach (Black Templars go brrrrrr) - Alpharius Head of the Hydra (This is a lie) - Ghazghkull Thraka: Prophet Waaagh! (WAAAAAAAAAAAGH!) - Horus Rising (still in progress) So now I am obsessed with Alpha Legion and want to listen to the book "Legion", but apparently it's book 7 or something. So fuck that, I am starting the HH from the start!
I've read plenty of long books like a kids bible had like 400pages. I've read a Korean Bible 700pages. I've read the justin bieber baby comment section turned into a book 1000 pages. So I can safely say 600pages in the first HH book is nothing.

top tier edgelord stuff WHILE they make fun of themselves, at least that's how the game and lore was in the 80s to early 2000s. they take themselves more seriously nowadays but the lore is pretty cool, especially the whole narrative behind the horus heresy.
Well the genre is called "grimdark". That's pretty telling on its own. The universe is a grim, self-aware parody of our society in broader terms. Over-the-top Edginess example: 1. the Imperium's (humans) most politically powerful body is "The Inquisition" (guess what they are inspired by) and their motto is "Innocence proves nothing". 2. the Imperium takes human babies, lobotomizes them and then stick robotics shit in them to turn them into Cherubs for ceremonies or to carry ammo in battle and shit (you can see these in the official video "Armouring of Spacemarine Ritual" animation they made) Silliness/Self-aware example: There is an Inquisitor investigator whose name is "Inquisitor ObiWan Sherlock Clouseau" Parody/Satire example: 1. The setting being called "Grim Dark" and being so over the top. Everything is bleak and shitty for everyone 2. Almost every faction and especially humans hate and outright kill/destroy anything that challenges their views or anything they don't understand 3. Orks are a parody of football hooligans (as admitted by GW creators themselves) 4. The Emperor is a super-atheist who destroyed all religion and burned every church he would find on every planet he stepped on, then he died and almost immediately a religion formed around him
