It is a good idea to wear a mask while cutting/sanding antlers as if the deer had a virus/disease you could possibly inhale it. I have turned antler on the lathe for rings. Antler polishes very nice on buffing wheel. As always good to see you busy Doug, stay safe.

I used to have fun making stuff like this. Had to sell my shop cause the x got tired of me. Oh well!!! When we were kids we do prank calls to all the drug stores. We would ask them if they had Prince Albert in a can and when they said yes we would say “let him out!” Great video. Keep having fun!

Hi Doug, some great little projects, I like it, i like it a lot. I concur with the smell, it is pretty bad. I do some projects with Beef bone, pendants, needles, buttons, etc., not many deer here in Cornwall, UK. With this lockdown we have here I’m in the workshop every day and have been making a few antler orientated items eg knife handles and rings as you did.Thanks for the video. I have always loved crafts that were made straight from Mother Nature. All you need is an imagination.
Iv made ,rings ,buttons ,knife handles , fishing hooks . Ink pens are the most fun to make with the horns
