LYRICS:
As childhood died the old year
made The Soldier reappear.
The ash embowered night and day
as at the gate she prayed;
Wyman, am I worthy?
Speak your wordle to me,
and drisk shrouded in its cloak
holway, river, brook and oak.
All souls under Orlam’s reign
made passage for the born again.
So look behind and look before
at life a-knocking at death’s door
and teake towards your dark haired Lord
forever bleeding with The Word.
So look before and look behind
at life and death all innertwined
and teake towards your dark haired Lord
forever bleeding with The Word.

"Alan... I think we're getting close."
My personal GOTY. Just excellent.
It's not a loop.... its a Spiral.
@@spiralpower1620what does that mean i didnt get it
@@mohamedalrifai-tp3bpThere’s many ways you could interpret it. Just like how he ended the first game with “It’s not a lake, it’s an ocean” meaning Cauldron Lake was actually much bigger than he originally gave it credit for after finding out about the Dark Place’s existence.
“It’s not a loop, it’s a spiral” is Alan most likely realizing, after he wakes up from being shot, which needless to say should be impossible, that the events of the second game which were originally thought to be a loop, actually have an infinite stretch of possibilities and possibly an ending. He’s only just scratched the surface of how far he needs to go to escape. Alice also talks about destruction and ascension which could imply that going lower down the spiral leads to destruction and insanity (example being Thomas Zane stuck in an endless loop of insanity) which is what Alan had been doing the entire game; while focusing on finding a way to climb the spiral leads to ascension and possibly a way for Alan to finally escape the Dark Place, so the more he pushes forward, the closer he is to breaking his curse. That’s my interpretation of it anyways.
@@SilverGeFer thanks for ur explanation now it makes sense
Alan & Alice are now lost together😢
NOOOOOOOO DONT MAKE ME REMEMBER NOOOOOOO
No after finishing the final draft he's now "The master of many worlds" 😊
Finally finished The Final Draft. What a phenomenal experience. After 13 long years, the loop breaks.
Thank you Alan Wake 2 for bringing me here!
What a great opening track. Love how ghostly it sounds.
Back to the beginning
Incredible.
Alan Wake II ❤
People loving this album as much as I do, in their own way, for their own reasons, people I may never meet, gives me renewed faith in humanity and in the future as we ever spiral to and fro❤🌀🐉✨
Ya kinda almost made me a humanity believer the way you sang that pearlgirl...it sure as hell made me happy for a few minutes; thanks for the moment!

I'm glad the masterpiece that is Alan Wake 2 is turning new people on to PJ! Was so pleasantly surprised to hear this at the end of the game, Alan Wake and PJ Harvey have been my main obsessions the past few months lol
It took me a minute to realize who was singing, but that subtle snarl of hers in the last verse was unmistakable. Alan Wake 2 is sure to introduce PJ Harvey to a new generation, because It certainly got me to listen to her latest album.

What I love about Polly is she knows who she is and doesn't change. Her style of music is the same as it's always been. Some 90s artists will desperately start rapping or auto tuning their voice to remain relevant. Polly doesn't. She just gives us great music again and again. So grateful for this.
I'm not sure I'd agree. She's known for reinventing her sound and her image with every album and for never repeating herself. But yes, she produces great music and she's carved her own path without caving into mainstream pressures.
Such a good opening track to the album. Gets more hypnotic the more I listen
Dark Folk, or not, as the case may be?
Truly gorgeous.
I think this is a very good record. What a total creative freedom! With music and language such as this, she certainly doesnt give a fuck who finds this record boring.
Alan Wake 2 brough me here. What an experience.
Like something from an olde English legend...very moody, atmospheric and evocative!!!
Such a 90s vibe…
Yes. Is this desire vibes
"...And so I Return. With me I bear the torch of knowledge. The light. The miracle illuminated. The master of two worlds. No, the master of many worlds!"
Les arrangements sont incroyables et la fragilité vocale de PJ est sublime.

It's great to see artists addressing the horrific issues of today , like Mel Gibson film sound of freedom
Yeah, great music equated to conspiracy theory inspired crap. What an equivocation.
@@AA-yc8yr Ignorance is truly bliss. May you slumber away the horrors of this world.
@@WhereTheyLay Ignorance is to subscribe to ideas and notions that have no material substance. And ditto for not knowing that's ignorant itself.
@@AA-yc8yr The material substance is very much out there, for those willing to look. Censorship is real, however, so one has to venture further afield than previously necessary. Start with Kary Mullis. There's an easy one for you.
@@WhereTheyLay 'Further afield' to read ignorant, uniformed, and usually politically or self-motivated drivel that has no basis in reality, nor in any, and I mean, ANY, degree of evidence. Your ilk are precisely the ones not willing to look. It's a matter of faith, for the likes of you, not looking, by which I mean, reasoning. I can easily imagine this song performed by the Delta days' Depeche Mode...
Hmmmm, not sure what to think about this. 🤔
Stick shadow almost looks like a bat
It's intentional. This whole album is full of nature, and it's terrifying. This is old England, where wolves may roam, and some of the wolves walk on two legs and smile.
what taylor billie album of the year
The only thing wrong with this track is it's TOO DAGGONE SHORT!!!!
It's over 4 minutes long
@@SantinoS_ I'm from an older era where we preferred longer compositions. Now, everyone's trained with soundbite music. I like to indulge my senses with a protracted melodic journey.
Be careful, PJ.
As good as the game may be, this song is absolutely making my ears bleed.
Clean your ears out then.
Was that a cow playing bass?
Best in the album, but a terribly boring and uninspired album. Pure decline.
Also, in most numbers she tries too hard to push her voice to sound different and special... stick to what you can do well. Sometimes sounds like a Sinead ersatz.
I thought I was the only one who thought it was boring 🙈
@@cristalgahanreznor7519Plenty of people think it’s boring but just aren’t saying so (I like some of the songs but yes, there isn’t much to be excited by here). She has her sycophantic fans who love absolutely everything she does, and then there are the people who prefer her non-rock songs who of course will mostly love everything she’s done from White Chalk onward. What they seem to love above all else, is her singing, so the stylistic change in the music is almost beside the point-but most of them, if pressed, aren’t really fans of *hard* rock (which is what she did across her first six albums, despite the claims that she “never repeats” herself), so of course they don’t miss her hard rock much at all.
@@cristalgahanreznor7519 they just pretend it's not
True, it's not a bad album buuut as boring as white chalk
@@albinofeliz luckily, we vam't pretend 😁
