/ uncutangling This segment captures 4 hours of trolling one day this fall, and one massive personal best musky. Filmed at Cedar Point Lodge on Eagle Lake.
I consistantly watch this video and it never gets old. these guys are awesome. absolute professionals. I like seeing how even when they catch a fish they aren't interested in they treat it with respect and get it back into the water.
yep... that was so ungrateful... in Europe here everything is so decimated that im happy to catch one pike a year.... just wait till Global warming comes and destroys habitat of these fish, they would be happy to catch at least a small pike
@@lolz9418 yeah? come here... where changes in enviroment caused bugs to disappear... no bugs no small fish, no small fish no big fish... i used to turn stone in river and tons of little bugs were living there, now only few bugs appear... there was some kind of epidemic in perch population... when i was little (15years ago) i was racking up 50 perch(es) in an hour, now its rare to catch a perch and became illegal to kill.... you wanted pike? you threw bait fish and picked up 3 under and hour... now i take a look at statistics, 50 thousand visits to the damn i fish in by fishermen and only 300 pikes caught, in the entire year...

Hey! As a very general outline, for most applications you will appreciate a long rod, 8-9', take a look at the Shimano Compre line as a great entry level rod (and even for experienced users). Do not buy a shorter rod! For casting leaders, 12" in either heavy flouro or titanium will be fine, buy a reputable brand, if they are using quality snaps and swivels, that is an indication of the overall construction quality. For trolling leaders, use 3-4' heavy flourocarbon, the extra length (continued)
You guys are cracking me up, especially when you say you are not happy with a fish that is bigger than anything I have ever caught in my life. Enjoyed the video, thanks guys!
The best part of the video is how excited they get. NOT after the catch but, after the release. This only one of the many reasons to like, no, love Uncut Angling
Don't think we have muskie here in Saskatchewan but the hate for pike is ridiculous, personally I love pike aggressive and eat anything u put in the water.
@panfriedd they are a necessary part of the food chain that help stabilize fish populations. small pike are a nuisance though i agree because they are such difficult buggers to unhook.
Oh no way. I live in Sk too and I fricken LOVE pike. Don't want to catch anything else. They fight good and they have an attitude. The hate is really bad here, seen guys catch them, kill them, and throw them back. Terrible stuff. Glad to see that other people in this province share that love for them though. Happy fishing!
Great video! And that “54! Caught in the Canoe Narrows right where the Indian painting is on the rock wall! I’ve seen that same fish and you guys were lucky enough to get it! Great Great fish!
So darn nice, we had to see it twice.. a celebration well deserved! Release was simple, fast and she disappears beneath the waves... A dream date on the water! Thanks for bringing us along!
(continued) protects the main line when bouncing off rocks, and protects the fish that are likely to roll on the line. 80 pound Power Pro main line is the generic standard for all applications. Good luck, thanks for the kind words, and I will try to answer your questions if you have more. -Aaron
You guys are the bang bros porn of fishing, seeking out the longest, heaviest and biggest girth specimans the world over. Way to go guys. You put excitement into these screen shots.
Dude would love to go muskee fishing with you. Took a trip to Minaki last summer. First time in Canada. Didn’t get a skee but did land a 34 in northern. Lot of fun!
Tim, Know what you are talking about before commenting. A net is the safest way to handle big muskie for both the angler and the fish. Hand landing and unhooking a fish takes more time plus risk of getting pined to the fish or dropping in the boat. The fish is far better off in the net until you are ready for a picture.
Gd... what a fish... that was dope. Just a damn giant. Hands down love this uncut dude more then any other channel. Anyone know of a better channel to watch cause I've followed this guy for years and I just love his videos.
When I was a kid in northern Wis, the only way we knew to fish for muskies was cast-and-retrieve out of our little jon boat. My arms would ache so bad by the end of the day I would beg my Dad for us to be done. Hooking into a big one was a once, maybe twice a season occurrence. You'll have to forgive me for not being too blown away by the trolling and $$$ shown here. Heck of a fish, though.
Doris Moser pike are brown with white spots, and have a more vibrant body. Muskies are more of a drab green, and much harder to catch. They are essentially the apex of NA freshwater fishing. The only thing comparative are the Alligator gar, but they much easier to catch and are more common. I believe in most of Northern Europe Pike are able to be caught, and maybe even most of the higher elevation areas of Europe regardless of location.
Thank you so much ! i was in Minnesota for Holiday where i catched a Musky ( Close to the Canadian - border ) can´t remember the Name of the area ... it was a great experience i catched id with 10"inch Wobbler =)
+sakimano Pike eat all the other fish, our lake is like 80% pike, thats why people hate them. Go fishing and every 10 minutes you catch a pike and nothing else.
I do plenty of fishing., Maybe that's how it is in your lake, but that's not how it is in every lake. Besides, musky eat all the other fish too, so your argument makes no sense. The pike outcompete or are more highly evolved (earlier spawn etc) sure, and that's why there are more pike. Nothing to do with diet. Pike and musky are basically sister species.
sakimano Its an overfished lake with many cottages on it, there is a smaller lake that it feeds which requires a tin boat to get into because of rocks on the way in. Its 100% pike. There is bass in the other lake, but hard to get. Need to go further north for actual good fishing.
They don't hate the Pike. They have lots of pike fishing videos on their channel. It's just that they were trying to film a show about catching big muskies
No way! I come up from Wisconsin to stay on a family friend's island for a week in the summer in Kenora on lake of the woods. We have pulled some nice 28" - 32" walleyes out of the Kuiwaitan channel over the years, but we need to try some trolling. I'm pretty sure trolling was illegal though? Blew my mind when I saw the bait shop/gas docks! LOL
Aaron I love rewatching this episode the most. To see such a free spirited version of you back then with no pressure just going for it. A little amateur at times compared to what we are used to nowadays from you but that's part of what Uncut Angling was about, in the moment, not so staged right? Would love to see Jay's face(assuming he filmed) when that muskie was in the net.
muskies do not eat" all the other fish. they mostly feed on soft rayed fish like sucker, chub., bullhead. most good muskie lakes have fine bass, walleye etc usually the ecosystem is healthy. Pike eat new spawn muskies aswell , as they spawn earlier.
I used to fish Eagle lake every year with my Dad and Grandpa and then after my grandpa died my dad and friends and now my dad is dead and I have a son. I hope to keep the tradition alive though my son is only 4. Anyway we used to fish there and skumpy and clay lake with Brad Jaeger and James Tetley
Damn am I disappointed I did not go to his shop when I was in Kenora. I want to move to northern Ontario. Between LOTW and Rainy alone I want to be there. Let alone the 1000's of other lakes.

Is this Eagle Lake, Ontario?? While on a family trip up there a few years back, I hooked into a 48" Muskie while jigging for Walleye and Perch. Bricks were shat once we saw it. Snapped my line and I lost it just as my Dad got the net in the water.
This kid is obnoxious.
how tf do you get pinned on a 8 year old video as a hate comment, uncut has a sense of humor
This is one of the best musky vids on the tube show some respect!

His "waste of time fish" are trophy fish for me...
beyond trophy
I feel weird responding to a 4 year old comment
Yeah, haven't had anything near that.
It was a waste of their time because it was a pike
There's no such thing as "waste of time fish" They have meat on them ready to fry and share with the community

what about me ??? pls tell
All the fish were beautiful. It's amazing how smaller Muskie fight harder than big pike. Great video. Very entertaining.

Me: i would kill for a a 50 lmao
Finally, that's the video I wanted to see!! Nice job boys, and thanks for the bump board Ryan, made a great Christmas Present!

We travel up to Sioux Narrows every year in late July for muskie action and walleye fishing. Have you ever stayed at Totem Resorts?
What kind of rod holders were you using? Were they special just for big fish? Seemed like they were pretty strong.
