In this episode we perform a factory hard reset to try and clear all of my poor running issue, but will it be successful?

Your optimism is infectious! I wondered if the lumpy running was a fuelling issue and if one of your newly replaced pumps might have a defect. As you say, it seems more likely that cleaning out all the lines (and getting your supercharger sorted) is going to make a big difference to the cars running.
There is plenty more on the engine to watch 😀

Hello simon , another interesting video , my xkr also sat around for many years before it came to me and the problems from that have been on going , all sorted now thankfully , you need to get that cat on the open road soon as and have that engine roaring ...it will thank you for it . Hi Ian, it was good to keep it running that long. Probably a few more start-ups should have it all squared away, I'm sure. The supercharger is deffo on the hit list👍

My 2002 xkr recently had rough idles, and occasionally stalled at highway speeds. It turned out to be a dirty MAF sensor and an intake air leak. It showed the same “restricted performance” alert. All is well now.
Hi buddy, good to hear from you. I have been playing around with the MAF. In fact, my last video was cleaning the MAF again, sadly without any change.
I think my next move is to get a smoke tester and test for any air leaks in the system, I'm still hopeful it's going to be something simple 👍
I've also got a 2004v8 with restricted performance, so a reset might be in order, could it also be an knock sensor? Michael Tipperary
Hi Michael, good to hear from you, buddy. The problem with restricted performance is that it covers pretty much all errors with the car. Without plugging in a scanner, it's pretty hard to narrow it down. Replacing parts could be an expensive way to find the route cause of the problem.
Should've given it a rev and held the revs at 3000rpm to see how it behaved
Hi buddy, I have done that previously, but after it gets to the 3000 rpm, it just backs off and wants to stall. I want to try and let it find its own tickler, then we can have a play with the revs after a few more start-ups, just to be sure 😉
it didnt look like you had cleared the codes from the start (from the video) and what you didnt do was after you said it "seems to run ok" . what you should have done was reconnect the reader and see if there was any other codes have come back .
Hi Derek, Good to hear from you, buddy. The camera may have missed me clearing the codes properly, as it kept shutting off due to the heat. But I did clear the codes on the reader and did so before I started it for the first time. As it was running and showing the engine management light coming on and off as the car was settling in, it will have no doubt thrown some codes up again, which I can real later in down the road. My mission at this stage it to get the car to run consistently each time I start it up. Then we can go through the codes again and see if anything new has come up 👍
Hello mate I'm new to your channel I drive a 2012 Jaguar XF 5.0 and I was wondering does this hard reset also works for this model car and I wanted to tell you that I was having the same problem with my vehicle I changed all 8 spark plugs and ignition coils , The reason because My Jag was idling crazy at standstill stops shaking at a standstill vibrating at a standstill but once I've changed all 8 spark plugs and ignition coils it stopped ..
Hi buddy, good to hear from you and welcome to the channel.
Changing the plugs and coil packs will definitely make an improvement to the running and idle of these cars. I have already changed the plugs and coil packs in this one a few episodes ago, you won't believe the condition of them when I removed them from the car, it's like they had been under the sea!!
Regarding a hard reset on the newer XK model, it's not one I have owned and tried, so I wouldn't want to tell you it would work as I genuinely do not know.
